Thanks to the texter who alerted us to signage along 4th SW just south of Roxbury [map] about an impending road closure. We went over to check it out and spotted the signs you see above and below.
Following up with King County, since it’s their project, they confirmed the closure of a quarter-mile of 4th SW south of Roxbury is scheduled to start next Monday (April 1st) and provided this flyer (PDF) with details:

6:58 AM: Good morning! No transit alerts or traffic incidents in/from our area, so far.
8:51 AM: Thanks for the tips. A motorcycle crash is reported on the eastbound bridge, at Admiral. An SFD medical response is just now being dispatched.
8:55 AM: From SDOT:
Collision on the West Seattle Bridge at mid-span blocking 3 eastbound lanes. Expect delays and consider alternate routes. pic.twitter.com/dXLh1gqGeK
— SDOT Traffic (@SDOTtraffic) March 26, 2019
9:05 AM: As the SDOT camera shows,t this is actually right at the peak of the high rise. Traffic is being routed into the outside lane. No word on the rider’s condition.
9:29 AM: SDOT has turned the camera back the other way but reports all lanes are clear. We’ll check with SFD re: the rider.
ADDED: He is in his early 60s per SFD and was in stable condition when taken to the hospital.

6:58 AM: Good morning. No incidents reported so far in/from West Seattle.
TRANSIT ALERT: Metro says the 6:31 am Route 57 is running “more than 30 minutes” late.
SERVICE CHANGE: This is the first weekday since Metro’s service change Saturday; the most notable system change is the end of buses using the Transit Tunnel downtown. There are a few changes on West Seattle routes – here’s the full service-change overview, route by route.
BACK TO 3 BOATS: Washington State Ferries‘ Fauntleroy-Vashon-Southworth run is back to 3 boats as of today.
1:22 PM: Police are reporting via radio communication that Harbor Avenue SW is closed both ways in the 2100 block because of a crash. This has drawn a heavier-than-usual police response because people were reported to have fled the scene after crashing into parked cars. Officers say they have two people in custody. They’re calling SFD medics because one may be hurt. Avoid the area.
1:26 PM: Also per radio communication, the car that was being driven in the crash is reported to have been stolen, in Tukwila.
1:56 PM: Photo added atop the story. The car in the foreground, which is about to be towed, is the stolen car; the one in the background is the one it hit. This is right by the entrance to Jack Block Park. Police tell us both people in custody are “adult males”; this happened after the car already had attracting their attention and they were trying to get the driver to pull over – he instead hit the other car and he and a passenger bolted, but were quickly taken into custody. They hope to have the street cleared and reopened within a half-hour or so.
3:28 PM: SDOT says Harbor cleared around the too of the hour.
MONDAY UPDATE: We followed up with SPD. The driver, 18, remains in King County Jail for investigation of stolen-property possession and attempted eluding. The passenger, 17, was questioned and released to his family.
MONDAY NIGHT NOTE: The driver’s bail was set today at $20,000

8:19 AM: SFD has already closed that call, which SDOT had described as a collision.

6:58 AM: Good morning! Spring arrives in 8 hours. No incidents or transit alerts so far.
FERRIES: Still 2 boats on the Fauntleroy-Vashon-Southworth route.
METRO REMINDER: Saturday brings the next service change, and we learned on Tuesday that a Pioneer Square bus stop will be added to some routes on 1st, as has been requested/discussed.
7:36 AM: Alert for the stadium zone this morning – the annual Starbucks shareholder meeting is at 10 am at WaMu Theater.
4:41 PM: Two road-blocking incidents reported in West Seattle right now: A vehicle fire at 40th/Morgan and a bus problem at Delridge/Henderson. On our way to check out both.
4:59 PM: The vehicle fire involved this Waste Management truck:

No injuries. SFD is wrapping up. Road is just now reopening and Route 128 buses are getting through again too.
5:21 PM: Delridge/Henderson cleared before we arrived.

(SDOT MAP with travel times/ Is the ‘low bridge’ closed? LOOK HERE/ West Seattle-relevant traffic cams HERE)
6:55 AM: Good morning! Spring arrives Wednesday, but spring-like weather is here ahead of schedule. Meantime, no incidents to report so far this morning.
FERRY ALERT: From Washington State Ferries:
The Fauntleroy/Vashon/Southworth route will be reduced to 2-boat schedule to start the week due to unplanned vessel maintenance. Needed motor repairs to the Kaleetan, having one-third of the fleet undergoing maintenance, and the lack of a backup boat in the system necessitates leaving two vessels on the route. Crews are working to return a boat back to service as soon as possible, but the changes could remain in place until Saturday, March 23. The effects of the two-boat schedule should be lessened compared to two weeks ago. Two 124-vehicle capacity ferries will be on the route, versus having the smaller Sealth.
WATER-TAXI PARKING ALERT: Carolyn says at least 15 Harbor Avenue SW parking spots are off-limits with “no parking” signs this week.

7:06 AM: Good morning. No traffic incidents or transit alerts in our area right now.
Thanks for the tip! Cleanup is under way in the 6300 block of Delridge Way after a rock spill from a truck. The SB lanes are blocked but traffic is being directed around the spill/cleanuo zone.

6:54 AM: We start with an alert about northbound I-5 – it’s backed up for miles because of a deadly motorcycle crash at Mercer, where three lanes are currently blocked.
7:18 AM: State Patrol has no ETA on how long the I-5 lane closures will continue. Alternate routes are backed up too so anything northbound from here is going to take longer. Meantime, just heard word of a crash on the eastbound West Seattle Bridge by the 99 exit, though it might already have cleared to the shoulder.
7:59 AM: Most of those I-5 lanes have reopened but a long NB backup continues.

6:59 AM: Good morning! No incidents to report in/from our area, but a transit alert just arrived: Metro says the 7:16 am Route 56 won’t run today.
7:06 AM: Another alert from Metro – the 7:34 am Route 113 won’t run.

6:59 AM: Good morning! No incidents or transit alerts in our area so far.
LIGHT TROUBLE: Michele reports that – at least as of about half an hour ago – the 16th-Holden signal is malfunctioning. Remember, a broken signal means all-ways stop!
7:29 AM: As noted in comments, there was subsequently a crash report at the same intersection. SFD has already closed out the call but we’re on our way to check on that as well as the signal status.
7:47 AM: Three cars involved in the 16th/Holden collision, but no major injuries – firefighters at Station 11 (which is right by the crash scene) tell us no one had to be taken to the hospital.
The signal is still out and police tell us they’ve called it in. Traffic is getting by but we’d advise avoiding the area for a while.
8:02 AM: Our crew, returning from the crash, warns that side-street diversion – already a regular problem in Highland Park – is rampant.
8:20 AM: Per scanner, 16th/Holden trouble continues, and we heard a report of a problem at 16th/Graham, further north.
8:29 AM: Trouble on NB I-5 if you’re headed north from the West Seattle Bridge – SFD responding to a crah reported near the I-90 exit.
9:20 AM: Reported in comments – “Just shy of 9 am there was a disabled vehicle in the right turn lane from Highland Park to Holden uphill.”

6:59 AM: Good morning! Welcome to the first Daylight Time weekday morning of the year.
FERRIES: As announced Sunday, the Fauntleroy-Vashon-Southworth route is back to three boats.
BUSES: One Metro alert so far this morning – an after-the-fact alert that the 6:16 am Route 37 didn’t run.
8 AM; Metro has just sent another after-the-fact alert, this one saying the 7:20 am 57 didn’t run.
1:10 AM: Seattle Fire reports that one person has been extricated from a car that went sideways in the 5600 block of Fauntleroy Way SW. That person’s being evaluated. The road is blocked both ways right now.
1:32 AM: The car is midblock south of Findlay. 1 person is going to the hospital via private ambulance; SFD is leaving the scene, but SPD still has the road blocked – no tow truck yet. At least one parked car is reportedly damaged.
1:57 AM: A reader just texted that photo showing the other side of the vehicle – a pickup truck – and says the street has reopened.

6:16 AM: Good morning! Some snow on the ground where we are. How about you?
WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY: The Weather Service has one in effect until noon.
SCHOOLS: Seattle Public Schools on time … Our Lady of Guadalupe 1 hour late
RIDE2: Canceled for the rest of the morning
6:37 AM: No snow-related trouble or changes to report. Just the advice to take extra time when you head out! … If you’re wondering about schools, no word on that front so far either. Highline Public Schools south of us has made a point to say it’s planning to open on time.
6:47 AM: Some scattered Metro changes are starting to come in – for example, Route 128, which serves West Seattle too, is on snow routing “in the Tukwila, Park Lake, and White Center areas due to road conditions.”
6:57 AM: First school delay in – Our Lady of Guadalupe will start an hour late, 9:15 am dropoff. … Snow in multiple areas of West Seattle, though NOT everywhere in the city. Photo from Michele in Highland Park:
7:12 AM: Seattle Public Schools has just reaffirmed, it’s on time.
7:24 AM: Where we are – just over 300′ – even the side-street surface is no longer snow-covered, so this seems to be more like the typical short-lived Seattle snow than what we all experienced in February. Nonetheless, be extra careful, since it’s still likely to be slick, especially as you get to your bus/car/etc. … Just went out to check – photo added. Lightly raining; can hear the snow melting.
7:39 AM: New Metro alert about snow routing – ALL buses in this area. A texter also says Route 125 is definitely snow-routing so “there may be some real unhappy people up the hill.” Speaking of hills:
Thanks to @janeydangerous for tweeting that photo of the SW Genesee hill east of Avalon.
8:22 AM: The melt continues. Major roads are bare and wet.
8:43 AM: Metro just sent an alert (and tweet) that Ride2 is canceled in West Seattle for the rest of the morning.
8:56 AM: Metro says the C Line is back to regular routing … If you’re just headed out onto the eastbound bridge, heads-up – there’s a report of wires down on the 1st Avenue S. exit ramp.
9:07 AM: The SDOT camera on that ramp shows the right lane currently blocked.
9:13 AM: The entire 1st S. offramp is now closed.
9:40 AM: Metro has resumed regular routing.
10:04 AM: The 1st Avenue S. ramp situation is, according to scanner traffic, also affecting surface Spokane on the eastbound side. City Light has to do pole work to resolve the situation.

6:56 AM: Good morning! No alerts or incidents so far.
FERRIES: Fauntleroy-Vashon-Southworth is down to two boats for a third day.
7:07 AM: A Route 37 bus is stuck on Beach Drive, according to a texter.
7:19 AM: The stuck bus (see photo) is just north of Lowman Beach.
7:49 AM: Metro sent an alert noting that the 6:53 am Route 37 as a result didn’t run.
