Check the regs first before doing anything. It’s currently illegal to target rezzies (Coho) from Lincoln Park (Marine Area 10) until June 1st. You can fish for sea-runs year round but you better have a convincing set up when the game warden inspects your gear and license.

I’m going to have to agree with Cait. I’m not a dog owner, but always get a kick out of going into BBP and seeing this unique environment. It’s one of those places that I talk about with people and how cool it is. I understand that everyone is not going to agree, but like Cait said, there are plenty of places in West Seattle where you could be perfectly happy.

I always love a good referral, but was concerned their website had no mention of being licensed, bonded or insured. I checked https://fortress.wa.gov/lni/bbip/ to see if they were a registered contractor and nothing came up.
Always something to keep in mind when hiring a construction tradesperson. Especially in this economy where we are all trying to save a buck.
And almost as important, get your estimate in writing, and never feel pressured to pay anything upfront. Most contractors have accounts set-up with suppliers, so only on the rare occasion will you have to pay for materials up front.
I am interested to find out whether Artisan is licensed, as I have seen his work and could use a new painter.

I remember when the major repave of I-35 was was done 6-ish years ago. Just above Alaska Street, on northbound 35th, (don’t remember which lane, not that it matters) somebody, I think I remember, at the time it being SDOT, or their contractor that had done the project, cutting a rectangle out of the newly laid blacktop. From my perspective from the parking strip, it looked like it just went down to the roadbed, as opposed to being a “hole” for access to utilities.
Either way, it was pretty stupid in my unprofessional opinion, and I wondered how long the “patch-up” would last.
I also wondered in more recent times, that if that was the spot that was referred to, here on WSB, as the hole that could swallow a car. (IIRC, someone had come up with a clever name for it!)

West Seattle traffic alert: New ID rules may bring port-area delays
Note that if you bike to/from West Seattle and use Alaska/Marginal, you’ll be riding with more trucks. I personally have reported parked trucks blocking the bike lane, shoulders and using the center “turn lane” of Marginal to SDOT before. This could create a bigger problem for us. Trucks who are impatient tend not to yield to right-of-way traffic. Be careful!
And please note that today the City Council passed new legislation that is supposed to, well, cut down on cutdowns … although three big trees could be cut on a 5,000-sf lot in the course of a year and you have to wonder how many lots that size have that many trees left. I’m also wondering how the bill will play WRT development … there are many lots around here that have had many more than three sizable trees chopped away for homebuilding in recent years.
