Gasp! So scandalous, clutch your pearls tighter lol. I’m not sure where you have beensince 2020 but using delivery services is actually a thing. There are people that hate shopping, don’t have time, etc. It’s hot, people are cranky, lines are long, no parking oh and the bridge thing. The majority of people I know dread leaving w.s. and they work outside of w.s.,driving to Costco feels like punishment, that is why they pay people to do it for them. Good for you for never forgetting to stop at the store after work. Some of us do forget, some realize they need baby wipes but baby is finally taking a nap.
If you find this post so outrageous then you haven’t read enough ridiculous rants on this blog. Move on instead of wasting your time and energy on something that doesn’t affect you. You could help your friends and neighbors in need with their groceries or errands. Volunteer delivering meals to kids in need. It’s apparent you have free time, use it wisely.
    * Negative comments are not welcomed. Help others in need*.

I have read that the number of people in the stage 3 Covid Vaccine trials was around 10,000 (I read that one was trial was 30,000 people). If those 10,000 are considered a sample from a much larger population (100’s of millions who will take the vaccine) then what is a good sampling statistic for safety of the vaccine?

I’ve been rocking a fade for a year and it’s easily the best hair cut choice for my face/look but the upkeep is ruthless. Wondering how often everyone else with one of these has to see the barber.

Has anyone here actually gotten a $75 automatic traffic safety camera citation for using the low bridge during peak hours?

It occurred to me today that these might not really be issued since RCW 46.63.170 (https://apps.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=46.63.170) seems to limit camera usage to school speed zones, red lights, and other speeds zones for certain cities.

And then the indemnification given to certain people associated with businesses in West Seattle would likely run afoul of the “equal protection under the law” portion of the 14th Amendment to the US Constitution. Not to mention, the Washington State Constitution’s own equal protection clause “No law shall be passed granting to any citizen, class of citizens, or corporation other than municipal, privileges or immunities which upon the same terms shall not equally belong to all citizens, or corporations.”

This isn’t really a focused question but more of an appeal for people’s general experiences, thoughts, and suggestions.

After 20 years of (more-or-less) of living on (or very close to) Capitol Hill, I (and my wife) will, at the end of May, be moving to West Seattle, quite near the Junction.

Stuff we like includes live music, beer, vegetarian food, bars where you can actually have a conversation, and good bookstores. And I’m interested in taking in some new experiences too- we’re aiming to get bikes as soon as we move (I always found biking around the Hill and Downtown too stressful) and look forward to biking to places like Alki and Lincoln Park.

Hi there. As we’ve reported in stories before, there are no shelters in WS – and our one tiny-house village is generally full. Some local churches have had low-key small shelter programs but none that you can contact directly to my knowledge. American Legion Post 160 has run an unofficial emergency shelter in times of bad weather. Re: hygiene, the Delridge Community Center has long been open for showering – here are the hours/days:
    https://www.seattle.gov/Documents/Departments/ParksAndRecreation/AboutUs/Comfort_Station_Hygiene_Showers_4.5.21.pdf

Did you call 211? That’s the main shelter referral hotline as I understand it.
