It’s a bit more complicated than that. Running new cable sideways in a wall is going to need to go through studs (and modern walls will have fireblocks meaning you can’t even run vertically without an obstacle). There are long, flexible drill bits that can do it, but it might be a whole additional level of accountability drilling cables in a condo with shared spaces/walls.

Seaspades; dont give anything until you have checked online the status of the contractor. Make sure they are licensed and bonded and without infractions. Ask for actual jobs and go there to see the work. A reputable contractor will do this without hesitation. There are quite a few contractors that conduct lots of business in WS that come with “recommendations” but have taken deposits and left jobs incomplete. The deposit should go into an escrow, not a general slush fund. Many ask for the money to fund the other projects, leaving you without promised services. Have a construction lawyer look over the contract if any. Good luck!

Hey Mark, I was throwing out one of those coupon pamphlets that comes in the mail and noticed Constructive Energy at 206-932-2277 was in the Nov-Feb book and said they did network wiring, amongst A/V, home automation, new and remodel electric, etc.

If it’s something complicated enough that you’d prefer someone be licensed/bonded when drilling holes in your walls, it looks like they offer that sort of service.

Do a search on “Seattle Drug Consumption Sites” and you’ll get 20 pages speaking about the plan for SAFE NEEDLE clinics. You are mistaken, please understand that.

I disagree entirely. You see the growing amount of trash and focus solely on it. I agree it is growing but it HAS been worse. Why I refer to other cities/areas is because as a society, we tend to be less likely to litter in general and have incentive, moral and perception reasons to clean up after ourselves. Other cities do not take care of their cities as we do to the point that it’s systemic. Our trash piles are localized around specific groups who don’t get services and it’s building because the city isn’t there to remove it like they do for all residential and commercial areas.

When I first moved to Seattle in ’96 you couldn’t walk through Belltown without getting something stuck to your shoe. Forget about even mentioning Ranier, White Center, Ballard, Fremont, the “Aroma of Tacoma”, all the trash on the sides of I-5, 509, etc.
We’ve had a great 10 or so year run and now it’s starting to build up again but it’s concentrated to encampments because they don’t have trash service. That is something we can actually fix so rather than complaining about a perceived slight upon “your” city by foreign “others”, let’s just fix it! Right?

This was posted by someone familiar with education on my Facebook page and I thought I would share. Not sure where the bill is at the moment, but these days it pays to be pro-active and start throwing fits quickly if you believe that an educated populace is important:

An assault on us all. Because it all starts with our children…
Our worst fears are coming true. House Bill 610 makes some large changes. Inform yourselves.
This bill will effectively start the school voucher system to be used by children ages 5-17, and starts the defunding process of public schools.
In addition the bill will eliminate the Elementary and Education Act of 1965, which is the nation’s educational law and provides equal opportunity in education.
It would repeal ESSA (Every Students Succeeds Act):
ESSA is a big comprehensive program that covers programs for struggling learners, AP classes, ESL classes, classes for minorities such as Native Americans, Rural Education, Education for the Homeless, School Safety (Gun-Free schools), Monitoring and Compliance and Federal Accountability Programs.
The Bill also abolishes the Nutritional Act of 2012 (No Hungry Kids Act) which provides nutritional standards in school breakfast and lunch.
The bill has no wording whatsoever protecting SN kids, no mention of IDEA and FAPE.
Some things ESSA does for Children with Disabilities
-Ensures access to the general education curriculum.
-Ensures access to accommodations on assessments.
-Ensures concepts of Universal Design for Learning
-Includes provisions that require local education agencies to provide evidence-based
interventions in schools with consistently underperforming subgroups.
-Requires states in Title I plans to address how they will improve conditions for learning including reducing incidents of bullying and harassment in schools, overuse of discipline practices and reduce the use of aversive behavioral interventions (such as restraints and seclusion).
