Furry Faces Foundation (F cubers) is a local animal charity that raises funds to help owners with the animals. Its amazing how long it takes before someone else gets tired of it.There should be a thousand dollar fine for cigarette but littering. Really. Smokers don’t give a sht and what’s worse is they don’t even realize what damage they are doing to our own eco-system. The suing of big tobacco companies didn’t change a thing. Two more school-zone speed cameras planned for West Seattle
The mayor’s proposal, as we reported, includes two West Seattle schools – Roxhill Elementary and Holy Family, both on Roxbury between 35th and Delridge. As you’ll see in the comments there, an extensive discussion ensued.
There is ONE speed-zone camera currently in West Seattle, on Fauntleroy Way near Gatewood Elementary, activated last fall, as reported here:

Betty, do you mean another developer bought it from Equity Residential, which bought it in December 2011 from Conner, who had owned it from years, or do you mean Equity (which is still the owner of record, and has had a demolition permit since October)? Just checking. Rumors continue to swirl re: why it hasn’t gone anywhere, but the company has ceased commenting.

There is no membership fee to be part of the Family Learning Program or to participate in our social events or clubs. Events are funded via fundraising events held throughout the year (such as pizza parties, curriculum swap, bake sales, etc) in which everyone is welcome to participate.
We do pay to use the open gym ($2 drop-in fee per child), and for classes (costs vary depending upon subject and supplies needed.) FLP classes are scheduled through the parks department so registration is via the online “SPARC” registration tool on the parks website. (https://class.seattle.gov/parks/Start/Start.asp).
Our fall classes aren’t posted on SPARC yet (and probably won’t be until later in the summer), but the schedule will be done soon and you’ll be able to see it on our Yahoo group if you join.

Granted this was 5 years ago, but this is a post about an answer I got from SDOT about this:
“I had said I would be contacting SDOT to find out the answer on enforcement of “short left turns” in traffic circles, and this was their reply:
“Thank you for your inquiry regarding the rules pertaining to left turns at neighborhood traffic circles. You are correct that the Washington Driver Guide (and the state law that the guide implements), does not distinguish between
neighborhood traffic circles and roundabouts.
Practically speaking, a left turn can be performed safely in front of a neighborhood traffic circle since they are typically located on low traffic volume and low speed residential streets, unlike roundabouts, which control traffic flow on higher volume arterials.
However, under a strict interpretation of the Driver Guide and state laws, this is not a legal left turn, and similarly to roundabouts, a driver turning left at a neighborhood traffic circle should proceed counterclockwise around the traffic circle, rather than turning left in front of the circle.
We recognize that this issue causes confusion, and the City will be working this year toward clarifying the distinction between neighborhood traffic circles and roundabouts in state law, addressing the issue in the Seattle Municipal
Code, or both.”
So I read this as yeah, you’ll probably get away with it because we usually ignore it, but it’s technically not legal to make the short left and you COULD get a ticket for it if somebody is bored and wants to write a ticket.”

If your friend is unable to find a home for Neko, maybe building an outside enclosure with access to one room (in/out door and no kids allowed) where she can spend some time with the cat. Since she is already and indoor/outdoor cat, I think this might work for Neko and the family. Kids could still see her too, but with very limited interaction. Example: treats could be given through the wire and then hands cleaned with a wipe.
An enclosure can be built in less than a day and they are relatively inexpensive. http://www.catiodesigns.com/ this one is a simple design that works well. Put in several areas that the cat can escape the elements and lay in the sun, access to clean water, food, protected litter box, a place to snuggle and they would have a winner. If she wouldn’t want to build an enclosure prefabs are available, but they are generally expensive. (Very cheap to look at and get ideas though.) Access to the a selected indoor space can be limited to the evenings or when it gets cold.
If this seems like a possible alternative in case a home cannot be found, you can contact Furry Faces for more information. They might be able to offer further assistance. Run all plans past your doctor too.
