Al Semple is a very nice person and long time West Seattle resident who has been helping us with our yard for many years. He’s done a lot of weeding, cut grass, even removed lots of ivy and cut back some overgrown trees and shrubs. He’s especially good at asking for specific instructions so there are no mistakes. I understand he can also do painting and other jobs tho he hasn’t yet helped us with anything besides yard work. You can reach him at almco60@aol.com.

Dear aa – I am not holding it, so letting it go isn’t the purpose of this post. I believe there are more than a few scofflaws not paying their car tabs. Seems rampant. I notice as I sit behind people at stop lights as I stay aware of what is going on around me. Maybe I should have become a cop. The idea that people are not paying their car tabs when others are smacks of same people who let their dogs run on the beach. Of course I would love to let my dog run around on the beach, so fun ! so carefree ! but that’s not what is the law. There are laws that are in place to keep a society functioning. When I see people flaunting those laws, it irks me. I follow the rules, others follow the rules – why shouldn’t all ?

Car tabs have gotten very expensive with all the BS fee’s and RTA tax..
The police can no longer pull you over for expired tabs as a primary offense.
The ticket if you get one, is still less then the tab itself..
The people of the state voted for $30 tabs.., but the emperor Jay cried foul.

It bothers me as well but in the grand scheme of things there is a certain (small) percentage of people that don’t do their part and think the government is out to get them. Do you want to fall in the bucket of scofflaws or in the bucket of tax-paying citizens that are part of the solution and not part of the problem? Personal choice.

Finding a reliable property management firm is crucial when dealing with challenging tenants or if you simply want to ease the management of your property.
I recommend checking out the services offered by reputable real estate management companies like Ramfeld. They have a track record of assisting property owners in various aspects of management, including tenant-related issues.
When seeking assistance with a difficult tenant, it’s essential to choose a property management firm like https://ramfeld.com/property-management/ with experience in handling such situations. They can help you navigate the legal and administrative aspects of tenant removal.

Just drove thru a stretch from end of WS Bridge (35th & Fauntleroy) up to Trader Joe’s.

Saw at least 2 cars with WAY expired license car tabs. One was 2 years old, one was about a year old.

Trying to understand why I pay mine each year for fear of ticket & being a tax paying citizen and this tiny example of what is more than likely a wider spread issue. What gives ???

People, pay your car tabs or give me some reasons why not. Cause I feel foolish for paying mine all these years if you know something I don’t.

knowledge necessary to complete the tasks.”

“Sharing tools with neighbors helps me feel like I’m in a supportive community where people care about one another and where we do things together.”

“The first 6 months of being homeowners we were fortunate to have utilized the tool library at least every other week. The staff were so helpful, friendly and we were able to meet neighbors during drop-off and pick-up. This is one of the best resources West Seattle has to offer to its community.”

“Some of the first friendly faces I met in West Seattle were at the tool library! As a brown woman folks often do not expect me to be able to fix things around the house myself. The volunteers at the tool library treated me with respect. Successfully executing these house projects gave me a lot of confidence in my own abilities and pride in my home which allowed me to be a more engaged neighbor.”

“I love the WSTL so much. It teaches repair, it makes woodworking and building accessible to a much wider group. …WSTL also aims to inspire people to participate in community projects such as park restorations and pursue sustainability through fun projects like backyard gardens, home energy improvements, water harvesting, and other environmental projects.”

“In our family, WSTL has been an invaluable resource. When we bought our house, it needed many repairs, but hiring professional contractors would have stretched our budget too thin. Instead, we turned to WSTL, where we were able to borrow all the tools we needed, from power drills to ladders. Furthermore, WSTL’s workshops and educational resources empowered us to tackle these repairs ourselves, helping us to save a significant amount of money while also gaining new skills.”
