    Just drove thru a stretch from end of WS Bridge (35th & Fauntleroy) up to Trader Joe’s.

    Saw at least 2 cars with WAY expired license car tabs. One was 2 years old, one was about a year old.

    Trying to understand why I pay mine each year for fear of ticket & being a tax paying citizen and this tiny example of what is more than likely a wider spread issue. What gives ???

    People, pay your car tabs or give me some reasons why not. Cause I feel foolish for paying mine all these years if you know something I don’t.

    Objectives of this role

    We are looking for either two part-time people, or one full-time person, to add to our small team to work in one or both of the following positions.

    Front Office:

    The front office is where the phones are answered, orders are written, and the daily warehouse flow is scheduled. We communicate with our distributors, wholesalers, and brokers via phone, email, and even Fax! There are several clerical tasks associated with this position, including maintaining inventory information for the online sales platform FAIRE, creating sales reports, creating sales materials, assisting in planning sales events, and so on. The front office also coordinates and staffs trade shows and demos (when conditions allow). This job requires polite customer service skills, accurate English language communication skills, attention to detail, and good organizational skills. Knowledge of QuickBooks, Excel, Google Drive, Dropbox, and Outlook a plus.

    Warehouse:

    The warehouse is where inbound containers are received, bailed, and product is organized. Orders are then pulled, packed, and shipped out. We pack boxes to ship via UPS, and we stack and wrap pallets to ship LTL. This job requires attention to detail and a strong safety mindset. You must also be able to lift 30 lbs. regularly, and up to 80 lbs. occasionally. The warehouse crew is on their feet most of the day on a concrete floor. Knowledge of shipping software and QuickBooks is a plus. Forklift skills would also be helpful.

    Predictable hours: We operate 9-5, Monday through Friday. The part-time front office job would be roughly 1-5, M-F. The part-time warehouse job could be adjusted to either mornings or specific days of the week. If one person wanted to do both, they would likely be in the warehouse for the first half of the day, and then catching the phones and emails and doing front office stuff for the second half of the day.

    Sampling Allowance: We ask that employees take our products home to test in their own kitchens. This improves employee product knowledge.

    Wages:

    Hiring Timeline

    The WSTL Board is seeking to hire at least one paid or volunteer Tool Librarian ASAP; the position(s) will remain open until filled

    Hours

    The tool library is open Tue, Wed and Thursday 4:45 to 8:15; and Sat, Sun – 10:45 am – 4:15 pm. There are three options for a work schedule:
    Weekday evenings only (Associate Librarian)
    Weekends only (Associate Librarian)
    Both (Head Librarian, Associate Librarian)
    Hourly wage:
    Head Librarian – $23.00 – $28/hr DOE
    Associate Librarian – $20 to $23/hr DOE

    Our beloved family cat is the cause of allergies in our young kids and needs to be re-homed.

    Scout is a 15 year old indoor, male, long haired and neutered cat. Friendly and social. Has been raised with a lab mix dog although he prefers a quiet bed in the sunshine these days.

    No health issues and still very agile. Would make a perfect companion. Litter box, travel carrier and other cat supplies happily included for the new family.

    I have been a member since the mid-2000s. The club must treat their staff well. Most everyone you see there, you see over and over. This is true for front desk and facilities. Most maintenance matters are addressed promptly, though I have noticed slips from time to time. This is definitely the best proprietor the club has had since they opened 20 odd years ago. I believe the building owner is the business owner and was the person who rescued the club from the Sam Adams debacle.

    @CarDriver, that is factually incorrect. While that may be a small factor taken into consideration, you have been provided numerous sources on how engineers and those implementing laws around speed, come to their conclusions. Arbitrary by definition is based on random choice or personal whim, rather than any reason or system. That is far from the case when it comes to setting laws of the roads. You continue to prove my point that education is such an important, if not THE most important piece to correcting what is a continuous problem for those on using the roadways.

    Ignorance to proven facts does not make your argument true/factual on its own. Many factors get taken into account but even more-so, it all boils down to safety of those driving, walking, biking etc. How they coexist and what that coexistence looks like surrounding safety.

    Study after study after study shows that the faster a vehicle is going has less time to react OR if they are in a collision, they are exponentially more likely to cause harm (depending on who is involved).

    You brought up one case and guess what, the kid survived BECAUSE that person was going right around the speed they were supposed to be going in that area. It always cracks me up but is also disturbing when people use a small percentage of cases to prove a point that can be easily countered by the larger percentage reality. One statement above of going with the flow of traffic can be valid BUT also needs more scrutiny because if a majority of people are going 85 in a 25, should everyone be going 85? No. That is not logically sound. Going a little above or a little below is reasonable, but what concerns me are the vast number of people choosing to go well above the limit.

    Seriously, go read the above sources of info, especially the one recently provided around how speed affects not only reaction time but also the extent of injury/death. The laws are clear and this city seems to have a lot of sentiment toward your belief that cars can do and should be able to whatever they want, because it’s arbitrary. Again, factually incorrect.

    Speed limits have ALWAYS been arbitrary. Many were set using the 85% principle. Cars on a particular road would have their speeds recorded then they would tabulate the speed that 85% were going and that became the speed limit. @ 7 or 8 years ago there was a child hit in a crosswalk going to school in Auburn. He suffered quite a few injuries and was hospitalized (no follow-up so hopefully he’s fully recovered) Got quite a bit of tv coverage. Police pulled the womans computer information from the car. She was going 17mph in the posted 20mph school zone.

    Id like to point out also that there is a difference between drivers who go 5 mph over to go with the flow of traffic and get to their destination, and then there are the drivers who are putting the peddle to the floor recklessly swerving through traffic. I dont think most of the people complaining acknowledge this difference.
    If i have to drive 25 all the way to where im going fine, but im goona do it in reverse then cus it is such a ridiculous snails pace.

    What you’ll do
    Entry Level manufacturing. Employees may move across manufacturing processes to develop overall skills and abilities in assembly, part marking and packing, machine set up and operation to bend metal or shear or cut or fabricate parts, or smooth, buff and sand by hand to produce finished surfaces.

    With assistance from higher grade employees; understand and follow work instructions and procedures in assigned area to insure quality is maintained and required documentation is completed correctly and on time.

    High School Diploma or GED or be currently enrolled in a program where you are working toward this goal.
