    Hi Neighbors;

    I’m thinking of using J&M to do a kitchen at my house — have you used them and would you be willing to share what your experience was like? The good, the bad, and the ugly, please. Was the job on time, on budget, and was the work quality? They are my front runner right now and I’d love to hear from you if there’s a reason they should not be. A kitchen is a big disruptive job and I want to make the right choice.

    If you’d rather not comment publicly, you can email me — pam @ nerdseyeview dot com.
    Thank you so much.

    We’re intentionally growing our salon and are looking for up to two experienced stylists to join us beginning September 1.

    Located in the heart of West Seattle’s Alaska Junction, our boutique salon is surrounded by one of Seattle’s most vibrant neighborhood business districts. As part of the Alaska Junction Business Improvement Area, our location offers exceptional visibility, steady pedestrian traffic, and an ideal environment for independent stylists looking to continue growing their business.

    We believe beautiful work starts with a calm environment for both our clients and the professionals who serve them.

    Our salon is known for natural-looking color, lived-in blonding, healthy dimensional hair, and a peaceful, professional atmosphere. Our clientele is primarily referral-based professionals who value quality, consistency, and genuine hospitality. We’re intentionally building a salon where independent stylists enjoy the freedom to run their own business without sacrificing professionalism, thoughtful systems, or an elevated client experience.

    We are currently undergoing an elevated rebrand, and we’re excited to have the right team members for this transformation.

    Hi fellow West Seattleites,

    I’m searching for a walk partner (or two) for my mom who’ll be moving to West Seattle in August.

    My mom is an active and spry 85-year old who can easily go on 2-3 mile walks at a healthy pace with the aid of a hiking pole. She’s also a pretty amiable and pleasant person to chat with. She’s in early stage Alzheimer’s and would benefit from being accompanied to prevent getting lost and to lend a hand in case of an emergency.

    Ideally the walk partner would have a relatively flexible schedule and be able to take advantage of dry patches during otherwise wet days. A car would be helpful to drive between our neighborhood in Seaview and her favorite walks at Lincoln Park/Lowman Beach and Alki.

    This is primarily a volunteer role, but a small weekly or monthly stipend can be provided based on number of walks per week and time spent per walk.

    Reach out to cnaito@gmail.com if interested, thanks!

    Rant to the driver & passenger in an older red pickup truck with plastic on passenger side window that spewed lumber all over road at Palm Ave SW & California S W. We yelled at you to stop before someone got hurt. Traffic was stopped as people came to help to put lumber on parking. Police were called, however you were long gone. We understand you came back and picked it up. You could have injured or killed someone. We hope you see this and stop your illegal and dangerous action. Secure your load. It is the law.

    Hi friends, me and my partner just moved to West Seattle right in the junction and we need some help finding a walking route to the water.

    Walking down Jacobsen seems like an obvious choice, but it’s not the most pedestrian friendly street. Is this a good option? Would yall recommend?

    We also tried to walk down from the top of Me-Kwa-Mooks park, but that didn’t work. Some maps depict a trail entering the top of the park at 55th, but it seems like it’s just someone’s back yard there. Is it actually possible to enter the park from the top?

    Thanks for your help, would love to hear suggestions!
