    Company description
As importers of fine Italian food, we work with Italian food producers who have been using the same land to grow the same crops to make the same dishes for centuries. They create specialties exclusive to their own regions’ microclimates, whose character is impossible to duplicate elsewhere. We want to inspire our buyers and customers with the stories our products tell: of long, proud traditions of Italian culinary craft adapted to the American table.

    Job description
Enjoy working in the food industry but tired of working in restaurants?

    Come work at Ritrovo!

We are an award-winning importer and wholesaler of high-end Italian specialty food. We ship all over the US and to Canada.

Are you passionate about Italy and artisinally produced food of the highest quality?

Ritrovo imports and distributes exceptional, provenance-driven specialty foods. We bridge the gap between world-class artisan producers and sophisticated global markets.

We are looking for a digitally-native marketing generalist. We are a small business, so you will do a little of everything. Your focus will be communicating the story and value of our products to our broad customer base.

This will include, but not be limited to:
    1. Enhancing our product listings on Faire and on our website.
    2. Monitoring stock and driving price reductions or marketing efforts to ensure sellthrough.
    3. Answering the phone and chatting with our customers.
    4. Packing orders on an occasional especially busy day.
    5. Managing our social media accounts.
    6. E-mailing our customers regularly.
    7. Following up on overdue invoices.
    8. Administrative things that need doing.
    9. Tasting samples.

    Who You Are
    * An Ambitious Foodie: You love working in specialty food, and this is your opportunity to take real responsibility and help build a business.
    * Digitally Native: Setting up a TikTok Shop is as easy for you as tying your shoes. You have thoughts on the merits of various AI tools and use them seamlessly.
    * A Vibe: You are an absolute joy to be around. You make the whole office better for your presence.
    * A Self-Starter: You proactively make things better. You don’t wait to be told what to do.
    * A Generalist: You understand that a small business needs everyone to do a little bit of everything. No task is above you or beneath you.
    * A Natural Marketer: You have excellent written and verbal communication skills. You can explain what makes a product special, not just what it is.
    * Location: Based in-person at our South Seattle warehouse and office.

    Compensation
this position is: hourly, $20/hr +

Looking for someone to help safely transport a crow I saw with a broken wing in front of the White House in gatewood – 39th AVE SW and Holden and happened around 8am, still laying on the sidewalk at 1pm. I called PAWs and they are able to take him but due to staffing can’t send anyone to box him up and bring him in for treatment. PAWS moved and are now located in Snohomish and I can’t make the journey. Poor guy. I’d do it if I could, but looking for a Good Samaritan to help his cause.

    Hi everyone,

I recently noticed a few cracks in the concrete around my home. At first, they were pretty small, so I didn’t think much of them. But over the last few months, one of the cracks seems to have become wider, and now I’m starting to wonder whether it could turn into a bigger problem.

I’m not sure if this is normal concrete cracking due to age and weather or something that needs professional repair. Has anyone dealt with a similar issue?

Agreed they are both nice drives. Are you planning on stopping part way or driving straight through? If you stop, that might be your determinating factor on the route. We regularly drive down to AZ to visit my folks. Lately we’ve been doing our ovenight stay on the way down in SLC, and we take the former route you described. I’ve done your latter route on my own and stayed in Twin Falls, ID (continuing down thru NV to AZ). Personally I don’t care for the drive between here and Portland due to the traffic spots along the way. But the drive along the river is lovely once you get there.

    Hello!

Trying to get rid of a unique cabinet that used to hold older televisions. I believe it’s solid wood, but it’s got a sort of plyboard back with a cutout for the back of a TV. It won’t hold a very big tv, but if you prefer a smaller one (probably no bigger than 32″) it can keep it tucked away or you can use it for anything else, of course!

It has a small sort of power strip on the inside with a couple of plugs, and a cord you can use to act as an extension cord. I don’t know if it has surge protection.

The bottom doors had their knobs broken off in the last move, but I still have the knobs (a little scratched) and it should be as easy as finding the right screw to put them back on (or replace them, whatever you like).

    Roughly:
    73″ high
38″ wide at widest part (top)
    22″ deep

If you are interested in this item, we would be willing to offer CURBSIDE delivery within West Seattle, potentially a little further, depending.

EDIT: The unit found a new home!

Never worked a kitchen line before? No problem, we’ll teach you the board, the slicer, the sauces, all of it. What matters more to us is a bit of grit, the kind of steadiness that lets you keep your footing during a busy lunch rush and still care about the sandwich you’re handing someone.

    What you’ll earn
    – Base: $21.30/hr
    – Tips: typically $8–$14/hr, on top of your base (not guaranteed every shift, but a fair reflection of what our team brings home)
    – Total: usually $29–$35/hr

What you’ll get, beyond the paycheck
    – 1 week of training, learning the store from the person who built it
    – Room to grow. We’re a small, growing neighborhood business, and we’d rather promote from within than hire from outside.

    What the job actually is
You’re at the heart of our deli, prepping and building sandwiches to order, keeping your station stocked, and staying clean as you go. Lunch rushes happen, and when they do, the pace picks up quickly. It takes some persistence to stay steady through it and still send out food you’re proud of. When things ease up, you’ll help out wherever the store needs it, whether that’s the register, the ice cream counter, or general side work.

You’ll be a great fit if you:
    – Have some kitchen experience, and don’t mind learning the meat slicer
    – Can stay steady and keep pace when things get busy
    – Take pride in the food you make, even during a rush
    – Are dependable, proactive, and easy to work alongside
    – Are happy to pitch in wherever the store needs a hand

    Probably not for you if:
    – Busy moments tend to throw you off
    – You’d rather move through one task at a time than keep up with a rush

To apply: Send your resume to hello@highlandparkcornerstore.com.

    Must be 18+.

Hello. I’ve been really trying to set up more play dates for my son, but it’s not been easy. My son has been asking about more play dates and sometimes will say “I wish you were a kid so we could have play dates.” Crushing. We live near Westcress Park and will try our luck on the playground some days. Not many kids his age are there. Anyway, if you’re in the area and have a kiddo in his age myself or wife would love to meet up. I have no idea if this is even allowed here, but I’m trying to be more aggressive in finding him kids his age to hang out with. I grew up in small town Colorado in the 80’s/90’s and we all just walked around outside until we bumped into someone and became friends. Times are not the same so I’m trying this out. Anyway, that got long. Thanks for taking the time.

    Hi Neighbors,

My gray backpack was stolen after my car window was smashed out in the parking lot by the bus stop on across from Easy Street Records in West Seattle. The last location the laptop sent a signal from: 4441 42nd SW.

The backpack contained a laptop, tablet, audio mixer, custom in-ear monitors, and personal belongings. Even if the electronics have been removed, I’d be incredibly grateful to recover the backpack and any remaining contents.

If you found a gray backpack or have any information, please contact me. Please include a brief description of the backpack or one of its contents so I know it’s the correct one.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and for helping keep our community looking out for one another.

    Reward offered. No questions asked.
    Thanks,
