Never worked a kitchen line before? No problem, we’ll teach you the board, the slicer, the sauces, all of it. What matters more to us is a bit of grit, the kind of steadiness that lets you keep your footing during a busy lunch rush and still care about the sandwich you’re handing someone.
What you’ll earn
– Base: $21.30/hr
– Tips: typically $8–$14/hr, on top of your base (not guaranteed every shift, but a fair reflection of what our team brings home)
– Total: usually $29–$35/hrWhat you’ll get, beyond the paycheck
– 1 week of training, learning the store from the person who built it
– Room to grow. We’re a small, growing neighborhood business, and we’d rather promote from within than hire from outside. What the job actually is
You’re at the heart of our deli, prepping and building sandwiches to order, keeping your station stocked, and staying clean as you go. Lunch rushes happen, and when they do, the pace picks up quickly. It takes some persistence to stay steady through it and still send out food you’re proud of. When things ease up, you’ll help out wherever the store needs it, whether that’s the register, the ice cream counter, or general side work. You’ll be a great fit if you:
– Have some kitchen experience, and don’t mind learning the meat slicer
– Can stay steady and keep pace when things get busy
– Take pride in the food you make, even during a rush
– Are dependable, proactive, and easy to work alongside
– Are happy to pitch in wherever the store needs a handProbably not for you if:
– Busy moments tend to throw you off
– You’d rather move through one task at a time than keep up with a rushTo apply: Send your resume to hello@highlandparkcornerstore.com.
Must be 18+.

Topic: Play Dates for My 8yo SOn
Hello. I’ve been really trying to set up more play dates for my son, but it’s not been easy. My son has been asking about more play dates and sometimes will say “I wish you were a kid so we could have play dates.” Crushing. We live near Westcress Park and will try our luck on the playground some days. Not many kids his age are there. Anyway, if you’re in the area and have a kiddo in his age myself or wife would love to meet up. I have no idea if this is even allowed here, but I’m trying to be more aggressive in finding him kids his age to hang out with. I grew up in small town Colorado in the 80’s/90’s and we all just walked around outside until we bumped into someone and became friends. Times are not the same so I’m trying this out. Anyway, that got long. Thanks for taking the time.

Hi Neighbors,
My gray backpack was stolen after my car window was smashed out in the parking lot by the bus stop on across from Easy Street Records in West Seattle. The last location the laptop sent a signal from: 4441 42nd SW.
The backpack contained a laptop, tablet, audio mixer, custom in-ear monitors, and personal belongings. Even if the electronics have been removed, I’d be incredibly grateful to recover the backpack and any remaining contents.
If you found a gray backpack or have any information, please contact me. Please include a brief description of the backpack or one of its contents so I know it’s the correct one.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for helping keep our community looking out for one another.
Reward offered. No questions asked.

Somewhere in Alki’s parks department, someone looked at a fully plumbed, fully functional public restroom and thought, “You know what this needs? A neighbor.” Enter the Honey Bucket, parked a generous ten yards away like a understudy nobody asked for, ready to be tipped over at the slightest provocation because apparently gravity and drunk beachgoers are undefeated. And just when you’ve settled into your beach chair, digestif in hand, the pump truck rolls up at high noon for its daily house call, filling the salt air with a symphony best described as “diesel meets septic,” serenading everyone within a two-block radius who paid property taxes specifically to avoid this exact soundtrack. Website: ttc.orgHi all!
After just purchasing our first home, we just wanted to share our experience working with the Scott Monroe & Molly Kemper Real Estate Team.
Scott & Molly represent EVERYTHING you might want in a real estate partnership – they’re both incredibly knowledgeable, responsive, kind, and persistent. My partner and I worked with Scott & Molly to make our very first home purchase. We went into the process super green and in need of a team that would get us up to speed and do a little hand-holding along the way. We learned SO much by working with them. Scott & Molly both bring a valuable set of skills to the table – along with their many years of real estate experience in the Greater Seattle area, they also have backgrounds in construction and architecture which helped us feel secure in our purchase. Each time we went to see a house, we could trust that Scott & Molly could tell us everything we would need to know about the house and what work it might need. We ended up finding a house that we absolutely LOVE and are so grateful to have worked with Scott & Molly to get it done. It also doesn’t hurt that they’re just a fun couple of folks to spend lots of time with as you search for a home! :) I could not recommend them more!

Hi Neighbors;
I’m thinking of using J&M to do a kitchen at my house — have you used them and would you be willing to share what your experience was like? The good, the bad, and the ugly, please. Was the job on time, on budget, and was the work quality? They are my front runner right now and I’d love to hear from you if there’s a reason they should not be. A kitchen is a big disruptive job and I want to make the right choice.
