Hi, JFM, welcome to West Seattle!

I don’t cycle, so although I could tell you numerous ways to get to 5th & Columbia, I don’t know the best/safest cycling route. I’ll leave that to those that do ride.

However, if you do the Facebook thing, here’s a group you may want to follow:

    https://www.facebook.com/WestSeattleBikeConnections/?fref=ts

One heads-up I will give you though since I read about it frequently here on WSB is that since bicycles are relegated to the low drawbridge, they are at the mercy of ship traffic that occasionally goes through there, which the city is unable to regulate bridge openings; Federal Law allows peak traffic hour openings, you might want to factor that possibility into your expected travel times. Again, that’s something regular bicycle commuters could give you more detailed advice on.

In any case, good luck and be safe!

How have things changed? I wonder about how TEPCO will handle the long term water treatment/Groundwater contamination, and always have. But this video you linked to, despite the ominous production values, is less than alarming.

    Dilution is the solution.

I am more worried about climate change denialism and the prospect of President Rump (or any other Republican candidate) than Fukushima on our immediate environment.

The decision also suggests that a majority of the court has concerns about the EPA’s authority to impose the CPP under the Clean Air Act. The CPP, whatever its policy merits, is based on a fairly aggressive reading of the relevant provisions of the Clean Air Act, most notably Section 111. Even some liberal scholars, such as Harvard’s Laurence Tribe, have raised questions about the EPA’s authority here. ( Tribe is also an attorney on one of the stay applications filed with the court. )

There are serious legal arguments against specific elements of the CPP ( such as the consideration of potential emission reductions to be achieved “outside the fence” of regulated facilities ) as well as the position that Section 111 of the CAA allows the EPA to regulate greenhouse gases from power plants in the first place. The latter concerns raise the stakes of the case and strengthen the argument for a stay. This is because the question at issue is not merely whether the EPA observed the relevant procedural niceties or properly exercised its authority on the margin. Rather, the question is whether the EPA has the authority to do this at all.

    Hi

I have a Panansonic 42″ Wide Plasma Display that works great and needs a new home. It’s a display, not a true TV (doesn’t have composite video input or HDMI) but it does support DVD/VCR and computer inputs great and has speaker outputs. See the manual through the link below for the technical details. Would be great for a business to run images on or movies or such.

It’s in good working condition, has the remote and I’ll throw in a wall mounting bracket for it.

Asking $50. Come and get it!

Yes, they closed. We reported it in November after they’d been dark for several days – and they never have reopened.

They abruptly shut down without an announcement, before or after. Sometimes happens that way.

This was a gift when my son was born and though it was set up it was never used. My son never took to a crib and went from bassinet to co-sleeping to floor bed. We bought the Toddler Bed Conversion Rail as well but it was never used. The is a 3 in 1-going from crib, to toddler bed (with kit bought extra), to big kid bed (full size headboard). New this complete bed and conversion cost around $1500. https://www.rhbabyandchild.com/catalog/product/product.jsp?productId=rhbc_prod379000&categoryId=rhbc_cat361051

We are selling it for $800. Currently it is broken down, but will fully assemble for buyer so they can check that it is fully functional and together. We also have an organic mattress and Restoration Hardware crib bedding set (minus the comforter) if interested. It is a really beautiful bed for any child to grown into. Please message me with any questions or if interested in purchasing.
