    We used Katrina Brede at Brace Point Law to draw up our documents this year and she was super nice, quick, and responsive. FWIW we went through my prepaid legal through work so it was free, but I remember her rate being reasonable. She’s local but we did all calls via Zoom because it was in the midst of the pandemic.

    Friends! To meet extraordinary demand at Rebellyous Foods, we are looking for great, mission-dedicated people to come help out on a short-term basis. The world is truly ready to replace chicken on a large scale, and we are heeding the call to keep up with the demand! We need your help and we’d love to have you join us.

    Here’s the deal: We need thoughtful and passionate folks to work a 1/2 day (4 hours) or full day shift (whichever you’d like) over the next few weeks, temporarily. It could be one-day or 5 days a week — your choice, we’d just love to see your smiling faces on the production floor!

    Here’s what you’d be doing: Helping our production team with tasks! You will be measuring ingredients, scooping dough (it’s not heavy), putting product in packages with the team, helping out with dishes, making boxes, and generally helping out on the floor with like-minded friends!

    Here’s what to expect: Shifts are between 8 AM to 6 PM, and times are flexible around your schedule. We ask you to get a Washington State Food Worker Card and you’d be trained on basic food safety and facility safety when you arrive at HQ. You’d be paid as an employee of Rebellyous. You can schedule only the shifts that work for you — so lots of flexibility. You will be wearing production-grade clean or new boots, smocks, and hairnets provided by Rebellyous.

    Here’s what we need from you: We need your time for 1/2 or full day shifts for a couple times over the next few weeks. You need to be able to stand or walk around for the full 4 hours or 8 hours with rest breaks and lunch breaks. Granola bars and fruit provided for breaks. You will need to be able to do some light lifting and bending, but we can accommodate nearly any mobility limitation if you tell us ahead of time, so don’t let that stop you. You also need to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and be able to provide proof for our records. We ask that you commit to just a few or more shifts in the next few weeks.

    We would personally love to have you come work with us. It’s going to be tons of fun, and you get to see the plant-based meat industry in action first hand changing the meat industry.

    Will you join us for some short, manageable shifts to help out the cause? We look forward to hearing from you! Email us at apply@rebellyous.com.

    If you’re looking for FT opportunity, please apply on our website: https://rebellyous-foods.rippling-ats.com/job/316281/food-manufacturing-technician-pt-ft-available

    I got my J&J booster at Neighborhood House. They’re open Saturdays and an appointment can be made here:

    https://www.seattle.gov/mayor/covid-19/vaccinations

    There’s also one in Southlake Union.

    Stick with the J&J and get the one booster for now. Sure, we can “mix them”, but I rather not have to have a third appointment and can pretty much count on the aftercare.

    I had covid last fall, now have long covid issues. The Because it started out as pink eye, an adenovirus, I wanted to use the JnJ because they used snippets of the adenovirus to build the structure of the vaccine. I knew the side effects would be a lot like covid for a few days, so felt more prepared for that first shot.

    This time I had the quad flushot the week before my JnJ booster. I had horrible chills and a 102.1 fever for one night. That’s it!

    So, just trust your gut and go with what you know right now.

    Best of luck! Oh, and they took a lot of walkins the first weekend, too, so I am sure you’re gonna get right in either way :)

    In general, I rarely hear about cheating on amazon because I have a lot of orders from there. So, not to run into any problems, like fraud or that my goods to me just do not come. I always try to read more about the seller and the genuine reviews, which real customers left. The last item I ordered from Amazon was the solar flag pole lights. And before I called it, I absolutely checked all the details and features. Only after that did I order it. Now I am thrilled that my house is different from all others with this flag. Especially at night, it looks unreal.

    I’m a West Seattle resident and co-creator of MindMonsters — a fun, adventure card game for people living with anxiety and stress — now on Kickstarter.

    The pandemic has inspired people in many ways. For myself and my daughter, it was to create an anxiety and stress related card game. On an epic journey, players learn to Think Like a Hero — to focus their power to see a situation for what it is, consider options, and make the best of it.

    MindMonsters also adds to Halloween celebration and is available in time for the holidays. I hope you’ll consider supporting our Kickstarter project at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/empathico/mindmonsters-think-like-a-hero.

    I’m so glad my post is creating discussion, which is just what I intended! Thank you all for replying.

    @Lindsey
    – I get that my wording may have not been the best. I was thinking that kids don’t like wearing them outside, but parents make them. Forcibly might not have been the correct term. Agree with you on vaccine mandates.

    @anonyme
    – Good job attacking my emotional state. I’m just this lunatic mother writing furiously from behind the screen (that was sarcasm). It’s ok to be passionate about a topic, especially when it relates to your kids! Also, with West Seattle’s vaccine rate at 80+% there aren’t many vulnerable people out there. I’m not going to wear a mask outdoors, or make my kids, because I do not see the danger. Vulnerable people should be vaccinated, and the risk of transmission outdoors is almost NIL. I wish others realize this so their beautiful kids can also stop masking outdoors. And also outdoor organized sports – let the wonderful soccer, baseball, t-ball, etc children take the masks off while playing! (My wording on righteous left-wingers and do-gooders may not have been the best either – I was fired up! :)

    @onepwitol
    – Great point!

    @AJP
    – Agree with your stance that end of year is not realistic. However, I do think BEFORE the end of school year is and hope that others feel and speak up about the same.

    Lastly, here are some articles over the last year-ish I’ve found interesting and which have molded my opinion on masking outdoors:

    https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2021/05/kids-masks-outdoors-cdc/618856/ (my favorite line which hits home: “Unmasking kids outside, getting them moving, and reconnecting them with their friends is the evidence-based path toward restoring their health and well-being.”

    https://www.latimes.com/opinion/story/2021-06-15/children-masks-cdc-guidelines

    Thanks again all! Let’s keep this discussion going, and encourage others to speak up about how they feel. I’ve kept my views in for a while, so it feels great to discuss with others in the community. I hope in doing so I’ll be able to see more beautiful children and parent smiles at the park! :)

    This is a great opinion piece I agree with 110%! We need an end in sight to putting the burden on our poor kids, especially with vaccine approval imminent for 5-11 year olds.

    Also, it’s ok to unmask your kids (and yourself!) outside! My heart drops every time I’m walking in Lincoln Park and see the poor kids running in this beautiful fall fresh air masked up, or masked at the playgrounds around all their masked parents. Study after study shows there is no need to mask outdoors – virus transmission outside is highly unlikely. And in the event COVID transmission happens, it’s not deadly or very dangerous to kids. If you see me, I’m that mom unmasked in the fresh air with her unmasked kids breathing it in letting their beautiful smiles show. Join us, it feels great! Let’s start speaking up about putting an end to the mask mandate in schools as our vaccine rate continues to climb!
