The chicken in your picture is almost 5-1/2 lbs. The cooked rotisserie chickens are only about 2 lb, and the natural one, which is the same from your picture, is usually about $10 cooked. So price-wise it’s actually very similar if you scale up.
I think Graciano was trying to point out that the cost of all food is ridiculous. If I recall you could buy that chicken at around $10.00 at least a year ago. And don’t tell me your cost of food is the same as it was a few months ago.
QFC at Westwood village has chicken for $1.99lb, I remember about a year ago, you could get a chicken for .99lb on sale. 80/20 ground meat used to be $1.99 – $2.49, now it’s $4.99lb

What also adds to cost is shoplifting. Clerk at Admiral Safeway told me Safeway loses thousands A DAY in Seattle due to shoplifting. They’re not getting back up from legal system so they don’t even try to detain. Guess who ends up paying-yep-US.
