My evening drive home is long. I’d like to find a friendly place in Southpark or thereabouts to stop and take a break on my drive home. Just to get out of the car and stretch would be good. Maybe a fruit stand or grocery store, coffee shop? All suggestions welcome.

I’ve never been inside there, but just as you come into South Park over the bridge there’s a curio shop on the right side. Might be a fun place to do a little leg stretching.

If you are in the mood for good Mexican food, check out Ambakity, it’s near the curio shop. Check out Uncle Eddie’s (on the next block) if you feel like a burger or a sandwich. I don’t know if he’s still there but the chef used to sing out the orders that were ready for pickup. Loretta’s Northwesterner is a bar with good burgers and a blue-collar vibe; they have a nice patio area too.

I second Loretta’s. I used to go there after work, from time to time, when I worked out of S. Park.

Take a break approximately every two hours. If you are driving on an interstate highway, state sponsored rest areas will provide you with a great MyBalanceNow place to stretch your legs, grab a snack, and use the restroom. Other great places to take a break from a long drive include gas stations, local restaurants, and parks.
