Thanks TR and Diane for the explanation. Having seen so many for rent and services available posts go up, I too, did not fully realize that they were all out of bounds. I think I’ve only started one Forum thread, so while I recognize the official rules page when I see it, I think I’ve only seen it that once or twice.
If I might offer a suggestion for clarity, it would be to link to the official rules page from the clarification sticky post that is visible at the top of the forum threads.
I think that sticky post is what most people end up looking at when seeking clarification, and it seems many posters are missing the official rules when they start a post. I’m sure some willfully ignore the rules, but the OP here seemed to not have realized that her post was out of bounds. A little more in our face with the rules, might save some time in deleting posts in violation.
Thanks again for the clarification.
There is a sticky post at the top of the forum index, in which it is stated that those are against the rules. We are working on a bonafide classifieds section but it’s not launched yet and until and unless stated otherwise, these are the rules:
https://westseattleblog.com/forum/topic/advertisement-rules-reminder
@MG: why guess? Email Tracy & Patrick and ask what happened or how your post may have violated the rules. I’ve seen for rent posts on the forums before and can still find some by searching, so I don’t think as a class they are off limits, but they are considered advertising and must adhere to the forum rules here

this was a topic a few months ago, but the problem persists. local artists spend a lot of time money and effort on this and to have the posters systematically removed in such a timely, well-ordered manner seems quite fishy. this is a rather hot topic among the WS artist community and we WILL get to the bottom of it.

Okay, trying again. Here are some better pics. If it’s harmless, I’ll release it…in my brother’s house :)

It’s time for some fun in sun! Come on out to the Morgan Junction Community Festival and be sure to stop by Furry Faces’ booth in the parking lot behind the Feedback Lounge.
We will have lots ‘n’ lots of bloomin’ plants, plus…possibly….some body art.
For more info on the Festival and to see the Festival map, go to:

Does anyone know of good a website that I can go to that includes the names and pictures of the most common spiders in Seattle or the Pacific Northwest?
I found a spider inside my house (crawling in the bathroom, to be more specific) that I can’t identify. Any idea what it is?

Sorry for not being able to take a clearer picture!
Just received notice from Missing Pet Partnership (MPP), that Jake is missing.
Jake is a blind and deaf, 13yr old Bichon Frise.
He wandered out of his backyard Sunday 6-19-2011 around 3pm. They live near 45th and Admiral. He was last seen around 4pm Sunday around 47th and Walker.
If you see him, or he wanders in through your front door please call 253-677-8178. If you live in the area and you can help please contact Chris of MPP. They could use your help to hand out fliers to the neighbors; make/put up posters; and do a couple intersection alerts.
Jake is friendly so they are hoping someone has him and they don’t know how to contact the owner he doesn’t have a collar and he’s not micro chipped.
To see his poster photo (please feel free to print and post around the neighborhood), go to our facebook page:

Celeste, ‘Whine’ has kicked in $20.00
https://westseattleblog.com/forum/topic/now-the-mom-who-had-the-kittens-is-dead/page/2
Think we are up to $60.00. Might want to call/email the folks with the playset…thinking $90.00 will be hit before the end the day.
Thanks for leading this effort.
Her posting has been sent in to WSB tonight. As follows:
A young black and tan German Shepherd mix was found tonight (Sunday 6/19/11) on the beach just south of the Fauntleroy Ferry Terminal in West Seattle. She is approximately 40-45 lbs. She is not microchipped and had no identification. She is being fostered overnight by Sarah, who can be reached at 206.323.5556.
This may be the same Shep that has been posted in recent weeks on WSB (https://westseattleblog.com/forum/topic/gsd-running-down-delridge). If so, there haven’t been any responses to those postings, nor any “Lost” postings for a dog matching this description. She has been posted tonight on CraigsList.
[This young dog is current with a kind woman who is temporarily able to care for her. Folks in rescue are trying to find a place for her to stay on a longer-term basis if necessary, but foster homes and rescues in general are beyond-capacity. If you know of anyone who can help, please contact the number above or Carmel at 509.330.1136]

Diane, we are at 7116 West Marginal Way SW, on the southeast corner of W. Marg and Highland Park Way, at the bottom of the big hill.
It’s a little tricky getting in here from the north, until you get used to it.
As far as clothing needs, I’ll just pass along the link to this thread from last week. Please note though that the only family we have right now is the first one listed with the four kids.
https://westseattleblog.com/forum/topic/clothing-needed-at-nickelsville-childrens-and-adult
As far as adult clothing, we have pretty much all shapes and sizes of people here.
Looking forward to seeing you!
Mike
Kimberley, this was the post about Muttley Crew taking donations (perishables only accepted on Saturday): https://westseattleblog.com/forum/topic/the-potluck-for-nickelsville-is-on-june-18th-500#post-129024
So sorry Finnigan is still missing! Hope he comes home soon, I know how terrible it is to have one lost.
When my cat was gone for a month I used the Petdetectives. I think they were very helpful and had not only good advice but were real help looking.
It is these people talked about in this thread:
https://westseattleblog.com/forum/topic/be-a-volunteer-pet-detective-free-training
I would contact them if it were me and see if they can help!
If you haven’t already been through it, here’s our list of 20+ camp programs that contacted us in late May/early June to say they still had space. Not sure how many if any serve kids that young but since nobody has mentioned the link:

Mr Beagle knows Sit, Lay Down, and Turn Around, which he is doing here in this picture.
Hi Mr. Peabody –
We’re down here in West Seattle (being the West Seattle Blog and all) but I did a quick couple of searches and found some info that might help:
First searching Google for “Myron berg everett, WA”
came up with this:
http://mobile.www.secstate.wa.gov/corps/search_detail.aspx?ubi=600241025
Which lists Myron H Berg and Ron Wenzel as representing the Lobo Restaurant Management Corporation
So then I looked in the Washington State Business License database for Dag’s Restaurant (now out of business) and the license was held by a Ronald Wenzel
https://fortress.wa.gov/dol/dolprod/bpdLicenseQuery/lqsLicenseDetail.aspx?RefID=1786253
When I search for Lobo restaurant management corporation in the Sec. of State database I see the Agent is Listed as Myron Berg in Lake Forest Park, WA
http://www.sos.wa.gov/corps/search_results.aspx?search_type=simple&criteria=all&name_type=contains&name=lobo%20restaurant%20management%20corp&ubi=
So – there’s a connection between Ron Wenzel and Dag’s and a connection between Ron Wenzel and Myron Berg, you might try contacting the Mr. Berg thru the Lake Forest Park address listed on the business licenses.
http://www.sos.wa.gov/corps/search_results.aspx?search_type=simple&criteria=all&name_type=contains&name=lobo&ubi=
The Myron JanS posted about in Concrete was a Myron S Berg… might not be the same guy.
And the Summer Fest music lineup will be out soon. We’ve already announced one biggie:
First West Seattle Summer Fest music news: Fastbacks reunion
P.S. Note that whomever “wins” Hood to Hood, the “prize” is almost a full year later. At least, that was the case for the last couple years.

Was going to donate this to one of those charities that haul stuff off and resell it, but as I was moving it realized it’s not really in sellable condition.
However – it’s not so bad that it’s trash.

Here’s the deal – it’s particle board held together with screws and dowels and in some areas the particle board has cracked and the screws/dowels have pulled out. Yet, when it’s all stuck together (and maybe helped with some wood glue – we didn’t glue it) it’s actually pretty sturdy. Uncle we inherited it from used it for records and a record player. We used it for yearbooks, videos and CDs.
