I am looking for pre-K for my daughter next year for 2 days/week. Very few WS programs allow for this few days. I’ve found that Bloom Preschool in the Admiral Junction does. Does anyone have a child currently at Bloom who could share their experiences? My understanding is that this year (2018-19) is the current owner/lead teacher’s first year, so none of the reviews available on Yelp or WSB are relevant. Thanks so much!

How about this? Park up on the 2nd level and take the elevator down. Perhaps some of the customers don’t know that there is parking up there.

I would NEVER block traffic just so I could get a parking spot.

Vanessa, I agree that it’s confirmation bias but let’s not take it as far as your generalizations. They’ve already discussed the fact that Prius cars are the go-to car in the ride-sharing pool, so it’s perfectly normal to see a Prius and assume it’s a Lyft or Uber (or even a taxi). As a pedestrian, I agree that any car can and likely has a driver that wants to run me over. As a Lyft user, I think about half of my drivers have been safe, calm drivers and the other half drive just as aggressively as any insane taxi driver.

People so paranoid about “security” in this country and they spend so much money just to protect the false sense of “security”
No cameras in pubic but when the is a crime involved, they cry foul where the security.
No wonder business plays the “fear” factor.

Hi! I’m a small private tour guide operator (OK, it’s just me :-), and a few of my tours stop on Alki. As you all know, parking can be brutal on Alki, especially on a sunny weekend! I am wondering if anyone has a parking spot near Alki for 1 car that I may use for about an hour a few times a week, sometime between 1-2:30pm. My tours are small, max of 4 people so this isn’t a bus, just 1 SUV. I’m happy to barter tours for your friends/family/guests or pay to use the spot if you would prefer that. Many thanks for any help you can provide!

I knew you going to play that “personal data” card.
We are so brainwashed about this personal security blah blah….the fake fear imposed on us by big business
    ,false sense of security
If you have nothing to hide so why worry. The authorities already know about us than you want to know.
When you go to the airport, you are already being tagged by facial recognition, you can’t even fly outside USA now w/o facial recognition. I have no fear because I have nothing to hide and I am good looking for facial recognition.

    Hello!

My name is Sarah and I’m the operations coordinator at the Log House Museum on Alki. We have an immediate need of help for our spring clean up scheduled next Saturday, May 18th, at 10-1pm.

Usually, we’re just tending to the garden and cleaning up the outside area, but this year we are in desperate need of help in clearing out the basement for a much-needed cement project to help our 100+ old log structure. Many of our volunteers are older and there are certain physical restrictions that make this job difficult with lifting and stairs etc. If you know of anyone willing to take on this project with us, we would be eternally grateful – and would love express our gratitude to your organization and/or volunteers next newsletter.

If you yourselves aren’t able to but have suggestions on where we could ask for help I would love to hear them as well.

Thank you for your time and please let us know if you have any questions!

I visited a yard sale on Saturday that had dolls, particularly small (miniature) hand made porcelain dolls. I purchased a few of them and then tried to find the sale again, but was unable to locate the sale to purchase more. It was behind a fence and there was a sale across the street as well. The lady said they were her mother’s dolls. Please contact me if you know where the sale was or have the dolls for sale. Thank you!!
