If you have a graphic and layout in mind, just get Costco to print them.

    Print & Copy Center (206) 447-9239

If you want to try out various styles, get microperf Avery (Costco Item # 115476 , 400 cards $25) or other brand business cards (I found packs of 500 at grocery outlet for 6.99 and bought a stack) and print a sheet of each. Layout can be done in Word with the built in template or download one from Avery:

    http://www.avery.com/us/Main?action=software.BlankTPLProductSKU&catalogcode=WEB01&hierarchy=BRCBLANK&softwarecode=5275

I happen to have an industrial size laser printer and a consumer size color laser so I never pay for business cards anymore.

But if I needed more than a couple hundred at a time I would just take my favorite layout to Costco and have them dupe it.

I prefer union shops for serious printing and political print work but it is getting hard to tell which are union shops anymore.

the interview Obama did with Chicago Tribune editors…

    http://www.suntimes.com/news/politics/obama/844597,transcript031508.article

i just read the whole thing.

    Obama says he’s clean.

says his transactions were above board…

but when he negotiated his house purchase.. he bid low. when he bought the strip of land from Rezko, he paid 104 thousand for a strip of land assessed at 40 thousand. because Rezko was a friend…

a friend who helped him assess his house deal and bought the adjoining property…

But even tho the sellers wanted to sell both pieces of property.. either as a whole or apart.. Rexko had nothing to do with the purchase negotiations on Obama’s house. it was totally separate… in a packaged sort of way…

and he was a friend, but not too good a friend.. he didn’t see him much or have many dealings with him…

    well.. maybe…

Rezko did raise about $250,000 for him over the course of his campaigns.. but not for this campaign because of those pesky limits… but there is that “straw” donation the feds are looking into and the job that wasn’t to his knowledge in exchange for “straw” donation.. but if it was… Obama didn’t know about it.

And Rezko is who he called to counsel him when he was purchasing his house…

And he certainly didn’t know about Rezko… and he didn’t know about reverend Wright.. he was never in church when the reverend made those remarks…

he worked in the law firm that handled Rezko’s real estate transactions.. but he only worked on a couple of his projects and he didn’t really work there after he was elected to the state senate except he did…sometimes in summers.. but he didn’t know anything.

    Aw Geez!

So.. you have a choice here… he is not telling the truth

or… he is more than a little dense about what is going on around him….

either way.. it’s not so good.

This does not have to do with the superdelegates…but found to funny (really not trying to bash Clinton…but is humerous) and had to post it somewhere…

a quick refresher course lest we forget what has happened to many ‘friends’ of the Clintons .

1-James McDougal – Clinton’s convicted Whitewater partner died of an apparent heart attack, while in solitary confinement. He was a key witness in Ken Starr’s investigation.

2 -Mary Mahoney – A former White House intern was murdered July 1997 at a Starbucks Coffee Shop in Georgetown. The murder happened just after she was to go public with her story of sexual harassment in the White House .

3 – Vince Foster – Former White House councilor, and colleague of Hillary Clinton at Little Rock’s Rose Law firm. Died of a gunshot wound to the head, ruled a suicide.

4 – Ron Brown – Secretary of Commerce and former DNC Chairman. Reported to have died by impact in a plane crash. A pathologist close to the investigation reported that there was a hole in the top of Brown’s skull resembling a gunshot wound. At the time of his death Brown was being investigated, and spoke publicly of his willingness to cut a deal with prosecutors. The rest of the people on the plane also died. A few days later the air Traffic controller commited suicide.

5 – C. Victor Raiser II- Raiser, a major player in the Clinton fund raising organization died in a private plane crash in July 1992.

6 -Paul Tulley – Democratic National Committee Political Director found dead in a hotel room in Little Rock , September 1992. Described by Clinton as a ‘Dear friend and trusted advisor’.

7 -Ed Willey – Clinton fund raiser, found dead November 1993 deep in the woods in VA of a gunshot wound to the head. Ruled a suicide. Ed Willey died on the same day his wife Kathleen Willey claimed Bill Clinton groped her in the oval office in the White House . Ed Willey was involved in several Clinton fund raising events.

8 -Jerry Parks -Head of Clinton’s gubernatorial security team in Little Rock . Gunned down in his car at a deserted intersection outside Little Rock. Park’s son said his father was building a dossier on Clinton. He allegedly threatened to reveal this information. After he died the files were mysteriously removed from his house.

9 -James Bunch – Died from a gunshot suicide. It was reported that he had a ‘Black Book’ of people which contained names of influential people who

11 -Kathy Ferguson- Ex-wife of Arkansas Trooper Danny Ferguson, was found dead in May 1994, in her living room with a gunshot to her head. It was ruled a suicide even though there were several packed suitcases, as if she were going somewhere. Danny Ferguson was a co-defendant along with Bill Clinton in the Paula Jones lawsuit. Kathy Ferguson was a possible corroborating witness for Paula Jones.

12 -Bill Shelton – Arkansas State Trooper and fiancee of Kathy Ferguson. Critical of the suicide ruling of his fiancee, he was found dead in June, 1994 of a gunshot wound also ruled a suicide at the grave site of his fiancee.

13 -Gandy Baugh – Attorney for Clinton’s friend Dan Lassater, died by jumping out a window of a tall building January, 1994. His client was a convicted drug distributor.

14 -Florence Martin – Accountant & sub-contractor for the CIA, was related to the Barry Seal Mena , Arkansas Airport drug smuggling case. He died of three gunshot wounds.

15 – Suzanne Coleman – Reportedly had an affair with Clinton when he was Arkansas Attorney General. Died of a gunshot wound to the back of the head, ruled a suicide. Was pregnant at the time of her death.

16 -Paula Grober – Clinton’s speech interpreter for the deaf from 1978 until her death December 9, 1992. She died in a one car accident.

17 -Danny Casolaro – Investigative reporter. Investigating Mena Airport and Arkansas Development Finance Authority. He slit his wrists, apparently, in the middle of his investigation.

18 – Paul Wilcher – Attorney investigating corruption at Mena Airport with Casolaro and the 1980 ‘October Surprise’ was found dead on a toilet June 22, 1993 in his Washington DC apartment. Had delivered a report to Janet Reno 3 weeks before his death.

19 -Jon Parnell Walker – Whitewater investigator for Resolution Trust Corp. Jumped to his death from his Arlington , Virginia apartment balcony August15, 1993. He was investigating the Morgan Guaranty scandal.

20 -Barbara Wise – Commerce Department staffer. Worked closely with Ron Brown and John Huang. Cause of death unknown. Died November 29, 1996. Her bruised, nude body was found locked in her office at the Department of Commerce.

21 -Charles Meissner -Assistant Secretary of Commerce who gave John Huang special security clearance, died shortly thereafter in a small plane crash.

22 -Dr. Stanley Heard – Chairman of the National Chiropractic Health Care Advisory Committee died with his attorney Steve Dickson in a small plane crash. Dr. Heard, in addition to serving on Clinton’s advisory council personally treated Clinton’s mother, stepfather and brother.

23 -Barry Seal -Drug running TWA pilot out of Mena Arkansas , death was no accident.

24 -Johnny Lawhorn Jr. – Mechanic, found a check made out to Bill Clinton in the trunk of a car left at his repair shop. He was found dead after his car had hit a utility pole.

25 -Stanley Huggins – Investigated Madison Guaranty. His death was a purported suicide and his report was never released.

26 – Hershell Friday – Attorney and Clinton fund raiser died March 1, 1994 when his plane exploded.

27 -Kevin Ives & Don Henry – Known as ‘The boys on the track’ case. Reports say the boys may have stumbled upon the Mena Arkansas airport drug operation. A controversial case, the initial report of death said, due to falling asleep on railroad tracks. Later reports claim the 2 boys had been slain before being placed on the tracks. Many linked to the case died before their testimony could come before a Grand Jury.

THE FOLLOWING PERSONS HAD INFORMATION ON THE IVES/HENRY CASE:

28 -Keith Coney – Died when his motorcycle slammed into the back of a truck, 7/88.

29 -Keith McMaskle – Died stabbed 113 times, Nov, 1988

31 -Jeff Rhodes – He was shot, mutilated and found burned in a trash dump in April 1989.

33 -James Milan – Found decapitated. However, the Coroner ruled his death was due to ‘natural causes’.

34 -Jordan Kettleson – Was found shot to death in the front seat of his pickup truck in June 1990.

35 -Richard Winters – A suspect in the Ives / Henry deaths. He was killed in a set-up robbery July 1989.

THE FOLLOWING CLINTON BODYGUARDS ARE DEAD:

The super-delegate trend is not just an issue in Washington state. It is an issue nation wide. Obama leads right now by a margin of 135 delegates. However, as of today, Hillary leads pledegd super delegates by 44 votes. I am not trying to change the game to favor any canidate; however, I think that they do need to consider and reflect on the popular vote. And Charlabob, of course Sims is going to defend the way he votes and why he thinks it is okay to do so…

No one sees IP addresses but me, your site owner. They’re recorded, as is website IP, for everyone who leaves a forum post or site comment. This makes it possible to search and crossreference “hmm, 11.222.333.444 is behind those five user names.” Now of course there are some flaws in the system, such as the fact that your IP address MAY change in the future – Comcast switches ours every so often, for example – or your ISP may have a variable IP for you. But it’s a helpful tool for a variety of reasons. One last note: If you didn’t already know this – whenever you send e-mail, the recipient can get the sending IP address from its “headers.” So don’t EVER think that you’re sending e-mail to anyone “anonymously.” Most e-mail software or webmail readers hide the headers but they can be revealed with a simple click somewhere. Try it – you may be a little confused at first because there will typically be several IPs in there, including one for the mail router, but one of the numbers is that for the original IP the sender was using.

Lest we forget. There is plenty of time for the current administration to do irreparable damage to the country. These people live in an alternative universe where everything is backwards. The difference between what they say, and what they do, can be breathtaking.

Today Cheney spoke to the CPAC, “the conference for people for whom reality is just an illusion foisted upon them by a cold and liberal universe.”

As conservatives, we believe in a government that takes up a smaller share of the national income, that treats tax dollars with respect and restraint. And we believe in a government that keeps to its limits under the Constitution, never expanding beyond the consent of the governed.

As Hunter at daily Kos put it:

“And then, he farted candy and rainbows. And all the little woodland creatures came out from under the floorboards to help sew him a magnificent new dress for the ball.”

I am torn as to whether to post this here, or in the Chuckle forum…

It is a short, succinct analysis of the worst case scenario some republicans are already advocating.

Snagged from daily Kos front pager Hunter.

McCain-Huck: You Got Your Christian Crusader Rhetoric In My Crazy-Ass Foreign Policy

    by Hunter

    Fri Feb 08, 2008

There’s talk on the Republican side of a McCain-Huckabee ticket? Seriously? Because Huckabee is doing so well, and McCain needs to prove his right-wing social credentials, and CPAC-styled movement conservatives need their heads to spin a little more vigorously, I suppose?

I have to admit, it sounds like a brilliant plan. In the middle of a hugely unpopular war, take the most aggressively pro-war candidate and make him Commander in Chief. Then, what the hell — add a heavy dose of hardcore, far-right evangelical Christian rhetoric to the mix. “Bombs for Jesus”: doesn’t that sound like the bestest idea ever? The whole problem with Bush, you see, was the annoying subtlety with which he pursued his highly complex and well-thought-out positions. Can’t we just distill that down to even more explicit support for unending “preemptive” military action, and explicit declarations of Jesus-based manifest destiny? Why have Bush when we can have a double-dose, Mecha-Transformer-Wonder-Twin-Powers-Activate-Super-Bush?

Hey, why the hell not? Here’s another idea: let’s get everyone in America to drive a six-inch railroad spike into the back of our heads. That way we’ll all have a place to hang our raincoats.

I love modern conservatism. No matter how disastrous any outcome of conservative policy is, there’s only one possible response — let’s do more of it!

    ok.. lighter:)

A MAN WHO KNOWS HIS MATH writes:

I was riding to work yesterday when I observed a Female driver, who cut right in front of a pickup truck, causing the driver to drive onto the shoulder to avoid hitting her. This evidently angered the driver enough that he hung his arm out is window and gave the woman the finger.

“Man, that guy is stupid,” I thought to myself. I ALWAYS smile nicely and wave in a sheepish manner whenever a female does anything to me in traffic, and here’s why:

I drive 48 miles each way every day to work. That’s 96 miles each day. Of these, 16 miles each way is bumper-to-bumper. Most of the bumper-to-bumper is on an 8 lane highway. There are 7 cars every 40 feet for 32 miles. That works out to 982 cars every mile , or 3 1,424 cars.

Even though the rest of the 32 miles is not bumper-to-bumper, I figure I pass at least another 4000 cars. That brings the number to something like 36,000 cars that I pass every day.

Statistically, females drive half of these. That’s 18,000 women drivers!

In any given group of females, 1 in 28 has PMS That’s 642. According to Cosmopolitan, 70% describe their love life as dissatisfying or unrewarding. That’s 449. According to the National Institute of Health, 22% of all females have seriously considered suicide or homicide. That’s 98. And 34% describe men as their biggest problem. That’s 33.

According to the National Rifle Association, 5% of all females carry weapons and this number is increasing. That means that EVERY SINGLE DAY, I drive! past at least one female that has a lousy love life, thinks men are her biggest problem, has

seriously considered suicide or homicide, has PMS, and is armed.

Give her the finger? I don’t think so.

He..he..he.. I am woman, hear me roar:)

    Nice JoB JoB :)

Those interested in one of the “sources” some here would use to refute the statements JoB is making, should find this series interesting.

Sure it is on Daily KOS, but the words quoted are indeed the insane lies and crazier opinions of those 23% who would have us believe that Bush was right to invade Iraq.

William Kristol is neither stupid nor uneducated.

This does not seem to stop him from letting his ideology overrule the evidence, the history of the region, or the reports from those on the ground.

Also note, as “Dan Quayle’s Brain” in the Regan Administration, he knew first hand much of the information he continually seems to ignore.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Kristol

So fire up your link following tabbed browser and follow along the twisted talking points path that the wingnuts follow blindly and at deliberate speed.

    Punditry Kristolized

    by BarbinMD

After a New York Times editorial page editor defended the hiring of William Kristol by making the laughable claim that he was, “a serious, respected conservative intellectual,” I was inspired to put together a collection that would show how often and overwhelmingly wrong Kristol has been. In Part I of this series, Kristol’s relentless drum beat for war in Iraq was highlighted, while Part II focused on his fearmongering claims about WMD and his later rationalizations when those weapons failed to materialize. And this week I will concentrate on Kristol’s demonization of those who opposed the war and his rosy assessments of progress in Iraq.

    Part 1

    http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2008/1/20/153833/705/250/440121

The above series “Kristolizes” one question.
