charlabobParticipantWhen I start to get to know people, I, greedily, want to know more — so what’s your favorite (most embarassing?) guilty pleasure?
I’ll start, because mine is even tangentially related to WS — the charla and the bob both LOVE Project Runway (Bravo’s fashion design reality show.) The Runway’s biggest audience share is in Seattle (not exactly the fashion capital of the world) and at least the first year, Cirque had a party to watch the season finale. I suspect there are Runway parties all over town. When the wrong designer wins, I’ve even been known to whine :-)
And you?

TrickParticipantMy guilty pleasure is inhaling a whole package of red vines before the movie even starts.
*does drum roll and hits cymbal*

AnonymousInactiveCharla – My guilty pleasure is a whole tub of Ben&Jerry’s ice cream to myself and a whole season of either “Lost”, “Grey’s Anatomy”, or “24” from Blockbuster.
Then there is also a great bottle of cabranet….
A good cigar (you said they could be embarrassing. Bet you would have never guessed I like a good cigar now and again)…..
Driving around and listening to my radio really loud…..
How many can we have?

barmargiaMemberbeachdrivegirl, I swear I thought I wrote that…love cheese, love wine. My TV guilty pleasure, and I’m almost a little ashamed to say this…repeats of Beverly Hills 90210…eek, now it’s out there…

JimmyGMemberFrosting from a can slathered thickly between two Graham crackers and chased with a dry-as-a-bone mug of Merlot.
That’s right, I said mug.

WSMomParticipantMy guilty pleasure is watching The Daily Show & Colbert Report on my computer while checking the WSB. I also am crazy about the show “Lost” and spend way too much time reading Lost blogs and updates.
Then there’s also my daily home brewed mocha espresso’s and occasional stops at Bakery Neauveau(sp) for amazing croissants that taste just like Paris.
March 18, 2008 at 11:15 pm #619050
WSMomParticipantOh yeah, and Project Runway! My husband even loves to watch it with me! He truly hates all other reality TV.

AnonymousInactiveOops.. I forgot to add my BIGGEST guilty pleasure. Text Twist on yahoo games is my all time guilty pleasure! I am the biggest addict!
March 18, 2008 at 11:21 pm #619052
flowerpetalMemberI truly hate t.v. period! So my guilty pleasure is walking through stores like Bed, Bath and Beyond and discretely turning off every blaring t.v. that I can. I find those demo-mercials to be offensive.
And I’m thinking wine and cheese party with Beachdrivegirl and Barmargia. A selection of cheese on a cutting board can almost bring me to tears! So I quiet my emotions with a glass of wine.

andreaParticipantGood grief I think we all muSt be related!…my greatest guilty pleasure is cheese, lots of it, in any form (solid, cream, cottage, melted, shredded), paired with squishy warm bread, a HUGE cup of freshly brewed coffee, and a even HUGER glass of pinot noir while I’m watching Project Runway or LOST (best damn tv show ever!) while taking a bubble bath…ok, so I can’t watch TV and take a bath at the same time, but if I could put a TV in the bathroom and not look like a total moron, I would totally do it.
March 18, 2008 at 11:34 pm #619054
WSMomParticipantFor any of you who have not gotten on the Lost train, take our word for it, rent Season One from Blockbuster. This show is so much fun! Definitely much better than cleaning house or pulling weeds. This is TV that even brainiacs can appreciate. Even you Flowerpetal :),

March 19, 2008 at 12:46 am #619057
JanSParticipantwow…guilty pleasures…first…on TV..Prison Break..yeah, I’m probably the only one who watches in SEattle – lol..and I’ll go with the cheese and warm squishy bread (or hard cold crackers)…but the cheese has to be Beecher’s Flagship. At 16 bucks a lb., it doesn’t happen often (they make great mac and cheese , too).
Oh, and a really big container of garlic mashed taters and gravy from Met Market Deli…yummmmmmmm….
March 19, 2008 at 12:54 am #619058
BobLoblawParticipant+1 for cheese and wine and trashy TV. But I really feel like I’m getting away with something by taking Mondays and Tuesdays off work, anchoring the bar at Cactus in the early afternoon for my Syrah and soup lunch, and hanging out way more on this blog than my own :-) It’s a great break from my day job.
March 19, 2008 at 1:36 am #619059
AdmiralJanewayParticipantMy guilty pleasure is watching Dancing With The Stars. When it comes to food, there are none. I’ve stopped feeling guilty!
March 19, 2008 at 1:49 am #619060
ToddinWestwoodMemberA couple cold Pabst Blue Ribbons, in the garage, working on a cafe racer motorcycle with The Kinks, The Who, or surf music blaring off of the turntable (yeah have vinyl still), then at 10pm, tuning in to Coast to Coast with George Noory and listening to people talk about Bigfoot or UFOs.
March 19, 2008 at 1:58 am #619061
KayleighMemberDiet soda (several cans a day)
Taco Time
The Osmond Family (they are so freaking happy and they remind me of my childhood and I remember the lyrics to their songs. I would pay to see them live in a heartbeat.)
I really don’t watch tv except the Food Network and weird obscure public access educational programs when I can’t sleep. I guess that counts.
March 19, 2008 at 2:13 am #619062
addParticipantI have long maintained that all I really need to subsist is cheese, bread, and good wine (well, and maybe some french fries). Now throw in a TV-related guilty pleasure and for me it’s the Award Shows (Oscars, Golden Globes, SAG, Emmys, Grammys, etc.). I don’t know why because I don’t watch that much TV or keep up with all the latest movies, there’s just something so fun about watching all that hoopla!
March 19, 2008 at 2:16 am #619063
CroweMemberBologny sandwich on white bread, French’s mustard, and yes, just like when I was kid, good ol potato chips smashed in side the sandwich. YUM. This only happens maybe once or twice a year. so it is truly a guilty pleasure.
And, bloody Marys at breakfast!
March 19, 2008 at 2:52 am #619064
beachdrivegirlParticipantsounds like a wine and cheese date needs to be planned….and dont worry about 90210 not only did I buy it the first day it came out on DVD but i also had to grab Melrose Place.
