I bought a recent deal for Subway on TIPPR on Aug 18. (see it here https://tippr.com/offer/promotion-for-subway/)
The deal – it very clearly says spend $5 and get $10 in credit at the store. I am (was) a regular at the Subway on 16th, and thought this was a great deal.
When my husband and I showed up to use our coupon on Aug 19, the employees had not heard of it and had no idea how to ring it up. The employee refused to honor it, and said we would have to call the manager “Faraz”. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and we bought our sandwiches at regular price.
I called the owner on Tues Aug 20 and again on Thurs Aug 22. I have yet to have a phone call in response. We went again tonight (Sep 2), hoping that maybe the owner has trained his employees in how to handle this coupon. The same employee was there, and had no idea; he called “Faraz” again – this time he said “he is the owner, he is very busy. he never answers his phone”. And he was correct, the owner did not answer his phone, and the employee just stared at us.
We were extremely frustrated, and left, this time without purchasing anything.
I have contacted TIPPR asking for my money back (we spent a total of $20 on this deal)
This is a warning to anyone else who was suckered into buying this deal, good luck trying to get it redeemed at the White Center (16th AVE SW) location. To me, this seems like a clear cut case of business owner who can’t be bothered to train his employees about a deal, and then disrespects a loyal customer by refusing to return phone calls. its a shame the customer service is so poor because I really like Subway sandwiches. But I guess from now on, we’ll hit the Safeway deli for made to order sandwiches. or anyone know of a good sandwich place in Westwood area?

Pizza shops that are further north manage to make it to places further south than us (a few blocks south of Pagliacci’s SW Holden line) without getting cold. We don’t patronize Amante (which is almost a full mile north of Pagliacci) because I think they’re better, but because much of the point of pizza is that you are time-pressed (yeah, I know, us and the rest of the world) and want SOMEBODY to deliver SOMETHING. We’ve been Pagliacci customers since before they opened the WS shop 15 or so years ago … but would be much more often if they delivered a bit further south. Not a big issue in our life but just a continuing, puzzling point. Delivering to “all of Alki” is farther than a straight shot south to this end of California (2.4 miles to our house, 3.2 miles to Alki Point, for example). We live in a hovel adjacent to much pricier bluffside view homes and I suspect some of them would be happy to spend more on gourmet pizza.
Of course, pizza is amazingly subjective, as this thread and many others prove :) I do hope the OP has found a good option by now if the party’s not already over! – Tracy

Actually, it might just be time to reconvene our judges as, not only have there been many new entries into the pizza realm in the past few years, but the new outlets for pizza have really raised the bar for authentic, high-quality pizzas in West Seattle.

Thanks to many of you, Gracie had her surgery last Thursday and we are picking her up from Chuckanut Valley Vet clinic tomorrow (in Burlington). Her surgery went very well and apparently she completely won over Dr. Brown and his staff because she has been hanging out in the reception area with them! Such a charmer, that one! ^..^
Even though she is coming back to Seattle, she will be staying at Muttley Crews Cuts for at least a week as she cannot do any stairs yet. (Tomey and Gracie live on the second floor, w/no elevator). We would like to thank Kelly and her crew for welcoming Gracie and making it easy for Tomey to visit her every day she is there. Tomey will be giving her lots of hugs and doing her PT, inluding icing her leg, twice a day.
As soon as we have ‘new’ pictures of Gracie we’ll post on our Facebook. And…there just may be a short film about the two of them in the near future. Stay tuned.
Thanks for making such a positive impact in Gracie’s and Tomey’s lives!
Just a data point … I have no idea why KING did this story now, at least written the way it was written, as if this was something new. I can understand if they had written “the state wants to remind you, we’re getting closer to …” but.
This was first announced in early June, when the state declared it would finish the southbound lanes six months early. That was widely reported, and then two weeks later, we were the only media on hand at the ensuing Delridge District Council meeting where for the first time the South End Replacement Project boss, Matt Preedy, put a likely date on it – October 21 to 31. I don’t know if that is still the expected date, though. Will ask them tomorrow. KING did not mention specific dates.

This is the sofa cushion that was taken from our carport sometime between Friday/July/29 and Sunday/July/30. The sofa was destined for the Fire Victims in South Park and now the piece is pretty much useless. If you had this tossed on your property… Please contact me!
