    Hi Andrea,

Thank you for asking. We know that Kismet will need to be kept quiet, calm and his ability to move around needs to be limited while his repaired hip continues to heal. This means that as much as he loves other dogs, he will need to be kept separated. He will also have to be transported to South Seattle Vet 2-3 times for the remaining injections he needs to receive.

Please contact AARF to chat with them. And thanks again for being interested in wanting to help this cute boy. Here is AARF’s FB posting on Kismet:

the shelters were built so they could be flattened and moved to wherever the camp goes. I think that’s already been covered earlier in this thread.

Interesting that you are concerned about a back up plan for the animals, but not for the humans there. IMO, no one really seems to care very much, just shut the place down.

The goats were supposedly brought in by the woman who supposedly runs the place with Mr. Morrow. She has a home away from NV. I would guess/hope that she would provide for the goats. And I am only guessing, but there are quite a few volunteers who have helped out a lot with NV. Perhaps they will come up with something for the cats and dogs there. The residents won’t be kicked out overnight, so perhaps there will be time to figure all that out. Now, if someone could only come up with a real solution for the humans there. I fully expect some of them to just scatter and end up back on the streets. That’s sad…there are more homeless people out there on the streets than ever before. And they are dying on the streets, too: https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=10151236263087015&id=184372257014

Remember Kismet. The injured dog that was found by the side of the freeway? He needs a foster home because the one he is staying at only allows two dogs and Kismet makes three.

Kismet has had his surgery and is recovering nicely. [AARF’s] Kismet’s foster home does need to find a different foster home for Kismet to continue his recovery. They are only allowed two dogs and cute little Kismet has started barking (he has to stay in a crate so he doesn’t move around a lot), to get the other two dogs attention.

Please see Kismet’s video and request for a foster home at https://www.facebook.com/animalaidandrescuefoundation?ref=ts&fref=ts

Thanks again to every one that helped Kismet. Both AARF and F3 are forever grateful.

    >>See how I answered your question and then elaborated on my answer? that’s called “discussion”.

Passively-aggressively spoken, Grasshopper. You have learned well . . .

    *************************************

Speaking of Clinton, yes, debt did not go up as much under him. But I’m not sure what you mean when you say “tools of debt and revenues.” Is that a high-falutin’ way of saying “the government collected more tax money?”

Oh yeah, I’ll grant you that. The government made more money during Clinton, all right. And there were more jobs to go around, too. [Sigh] Yeah . . .

I’m afraid that was all on account of the Great Tech Bubble, though, rather than anything the government might have done.

And that bubble done popped, my friend.

    Just like your argument.

I don’t know if many of you are on G+ (news this week has it that it’s now bigger than Twitter), but I am and I love it. They recently rolled out the “Communities” feature so I started a few; one specifically for West Seattle, since there weren’t any yet. Here’s the link:

    https://plus.google.com/communities/117490686587899267238

I hope that other G+ers will join me there!

If you’re not on Google Plus and are curious, you’ll find it’s not like Facebook; as someone said, FB is about WHO you know and G+ is about WHAT you know. It’s more of a world-wide forum than a way to keep in touch with your real-life friends and family. It looks empty until you start participating and then circling interesting people. I’ve met some fascinating people from around the world there.

Here is a pic of where it snapped my picture. I can’t quite tell how close it was that it clocked me, but that’s when it took the picture. I assume it needed 10s of feet to gauge my speed.

Just in from AARF. Kismet is recovering well from his hip surgery, fungal infection, skin mites, urinary tract infection, and of course, is no longer starving.

A big thank you to all that donated to his care; to his rescuers; and to AARF for taking him in.

I have four dropcams and highly recommend them: https://www.dropcam.com/

So easy that even I could set them up. Bought them on Amazon.com when they had a special for $99.00 apiece. You can set up alerts to your phone, email or both. Amazon reviews here: http://www.amazon.com/Dropcam-Wi-Fi-Wireless-Monitoring-Camera/dp/B006P88VSE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1358462752&sr=8-1&keywords=dropcam

Furry Faces Foundation is hosting a ‘Heels For Hounds’ silent auction and wine tasting event in late March 2013/early April. In order to firm up the event date, we need at least 200 pairs of gently, or never worn, women’s shoes as we want to make sure there is a wide selection of shoes.

Do you have shoes you have barely worn, that you are willingly to donate? Just think, if you donate a pair, it will leave room in your closet to purchase a new pair!

Our business friends want to make it easy for you to support so just stop by one of their stores and drop off your shoes.

Clementine Shoes: 4447 California Ave SW

Hotwire Online Coffeehouse: 4410 California Ave SW

The Wash Dog: 6400 California Ave SW

Thanks for supporting Furry Faces Foundation and our furry clients!See the details for this event on our Facebook Event page:https://www.facebook.com/events/303849176383406/

I just found this on Facebook:

    130117_pitattackbig

Kismet needs our help! He was found by a family near Palm Desert on I-5 when they were driving back to Tacoma. They saved him and brought him home. He has a severe skin infection, urinary tract infection and was also limping. We had him brought into our Vet and it was found he has a broken leg. This poor guy has been through so much, but is still very sweet, loving and deserving of a fresh start. His surgery will cost $1300 and we can’t afford it right now. Would you please consider donating to help Kismet get healthy again? You can either donate through WePay via this link, or call in donations straight to our Vet. If you want to donate directly to the vet, call them at 206-242-8338 and say you’d like to put it on AARF’s account for Kismet. Thank you so much for your help! https://www.wepay.com/donations/kismet-s-surgery
