June 1, 2008 at 8:42 am #625691WSBKeymasterSince that neighborhood isn’t far from us (about half a mile) we’ll vouch for its walkability :) Half a mile downhill to Morgan Junction, not far downhill west to Lincoln Park and Lowman Beach, even the Fauntleroy ferry dock. (Those are walking routes the 12-y-o and I take all the time.) If you’re feeling ambitious you can even walk to Westwood Village (less than two miles). We lived on Beach Drive for our first two years in West Seattle, then bought a house down here in southwest WS and have been happy as, well, clams, ever since. — TR

JanSParticipantJT…that’s amazing…but not unexpected. I don’t see how any self-respecting Republican can vote for that man….will make a great commercial…

AnonymousInactiveThe real McCain. Can’t wait ’til this gets turned in to a commercial.
Probably posted before and I missed it.

AnonymousInactiveJan, it was a post of yours a long time ago that made me try them. It’s the only place I order from now. Excellent, IMO. Just thought I’d try the new guy.

JanSParticipantJT… I love Luciano’s…and the nice little accents all the delivery guys have – lol…
June 1, 2008 at 7:28 am #625690CloverdaleMemberWe are a couple with two kids who rent a house in the Gatewood neighborhood near the Morgan Junction and Lincoln Park. Our tenants have to move back east so we are looking to rent soon. You sound just like the type of folks we would love to rent to. We have a nice house with 2BR on the main floor and a third bedroom with a fabulous sound and mountain view that has been used by many for a home office. It even has its own kitchen and bathroom. We live within a mile away and are committed to being good landlords.
We didn’t advertise saying we would take cats, but would be willing to discuss this. Here is our craigslist posting:

June 1, 2008 at 7:14 am #625752In reply to: Rave: Olympia Pizza delivers to Arbor Heights
AnonymousInactiveI think my expectations were too high. I thought it was OK. Probably won’t get again. 30 bucks for a pizza and 1/2 order of salad (chopped lettuce). Luciano’s is the same price for a larger size, twice the amount of toppings and it makes almost 3 meals for the 2 of us. I know pizza tastes can be very selective, so the only thing you can do is try it for yourself.

ellenaterMemberlol! My best friend over here in N. Seattle is a Republican. But she has other good qualities. ;)
charla, I thought what you said was very poignant. It IS scary when people disengage in that way. It’s equally scary when people see politics as only a game and therefore as irrelevant to our lives.

June 1, 2008 at 6:47 am #625689ellenaterMemberWow! Thanks for the welcomes!! It’s funny how the people on the blog are as nice as the people we meet in person. Not surprising, I guess…
The suggestions are great. We are all over Craigslist. I hadn’t seen some of those postings, though so thanks, thriftwaygirl. We’re on it!
Sue thanks for the tip on Allied. That’s the stuff, right there. Nothing beats WOM.
NR, what is your neighborhood? We are just getting acquainted with all the different neighborhoods. We’re not picky about which ones but it’s nice to walk to stuff. We have been driving around a bunch but I’m not seeing many signs.
Thanks again. I’m so excited to move over!!!

wundrgrrrlParticipantDecided today was the day to stop by for a late lunch… and they were packed! The long wait was well worth it. A Zippy Royale and a Number 11 later and we were fat happy cats. Be sure to grab extra napkins – “secret sauce running down your arm” is no joke! I’m sure there will be many cravings for these to come… though next time it will be the ‘lil Zip for me!

JanSParticipantHouse…I don’t blame you…I’d give ’em 24 hours. Does the city just put a notice on it? or is there some way that you can get it hauled off (impounded) to some lot, where these people will be charged for storage?
