8:21 PM: The big Seattle Fire response is for what SFD reports as a flipped-car crash in the 3200 block of Harbor SW. Everybody’s reported to be out of the vehicle and being evaluated/treated for injuries.
8:25 PM: Photo added (thanks!). Police are reported to have Harbor blocked off both ways in the 3200 block.

8:47 PM: Police say the driver was headed toward the bridge, hit the median, car flipped and took down the pole shown above. The driver had one passenger; no serious injuries reported.

WEEKEND NOTES: The tunnel closure that was set for tonight has vanished from advisories so apparently it’s NOT happening … One more reminder that the Blue Angels’ performances today through Sunday (3-4 pm) will NOT close I-90 … The Sounders play Kansas City on Sunday night at CenturyLink Field, 7 pm.

AVALON PROJECT: SW Yancy has indeed closed at the Avalon end (we got a chance to check Tuesday afternoon); this closure is expected to last “a couple weeks,” SDOT says.

WATER TAXI: Some readers pointed out that the smaller Spirit of Kingston was on the West Seattle run yesterday, unannounced, and that led to some capacity challenges. So we checked MarineTraffic.com this morning and it shows SoK on the run again this morning.

AVALON/35TH PROJECT: The latest update includes an alert that SW Yancy might be closed at Avalon as soon as today.

If you looked closely at one of the no-parking signs lining part of Harbor Avenue SW, you might have wondered why they say “PARADE,” considering ours was last weekend, and the route was nowhere near Harbor. It’s because Terminal 5 is a storage area for some of the floats participating in the Seafair Torchlight Parade downtown Saturday night. As we’ve shown in past years (2015 here, 2016 here), the floats have headed toward downtown in a convoy on Saturday morning (8-9 am-ish), then back post-parade.
1:25 PM: The trucks in our photo are part of the crew that’s at Lincoln Park setting up for tomorrow’s “Sesame Street” 50th-anniversary event, expected to draw 4,000 people (who had to register in advance) over the course of the day. Inside the park, the baseball field south of the wading pool/play area is the hub of activity:
Here’s the newest update on likely afternoon traffic effects: Washington State Ferries had been told last night that the trucks on Fauntleroy Way would clear out for the afternoon no-parking period (2-7 pm) after all. But then, WSF spokesperson Hadley Rodero told WSB this afternoon, the production company instead said they were trying to hire off-duty police to direct traffic around the trucks this afternoon instead. We’ll be checking back at the scene after 2 pm. (added) Here’s the live traffic cam:
Also note if you’re driving to the park, the staging has also taken over some of the spaces toward the north end of the north lot.
2:59 PM: The camera shows the trucks have since moved out of the staging lane. Heading down the hill to see if anything else remains aside from standard Friday afternoon traffic.
3:40 PM: Verified that nothing remains in the queueing lane. (Saw a private car getting towed, though, with an SPD Parking Enforcement officer right behind.) Just the “usual” Friday afternoon ferry backup, almost to the north edge of Lincoln Park as of about 15 minutes ago.

FERRY TRAFFIC ALERT: From Washington State Ferries:
Passengers traveling through Fauntleroy this weekend should prepare for potential delays getting to the tollbooth starting tomorrow. Washington State Ferries has learned that the city of Seattle has permitted event staging in front of Lincoln Park from 6 a.m. Friday, July 26, through 6 a.m. Sunday, July 28, as part of Sesame Street’s Road Trip event. This may block Fauntleroy Way ferry staging lanes between Southwest Kenyon and Southwest Monroe streets, possibly leading to extensive backups.
Travelers should give themselves extra time to get to the terminal. As a reminder, ferry traffic queues that extend beyond Lincoln Park continue on Fauntleroy Way. Drivers should avoid using nearby 47th Avenue to get in line.

BUS STOP CLOSURE: In case you missed yesterday’s alert, the 35th/Avalon road work has closed the southbound bus stop on 35th south of Avalon TFN.

6:15 PM: Thanks to everyone who has sent tips about this: The outside One lane of uphill Admiral Way is blocked between the Bridge and City View, because of a hole in the road. SDOT’s Incident Response Team is reported to be on scene.
7:33 PM: Photo added. A short stretch of the uphill inside lane is coned off just north of 34th. We’ll ask SDOT about repair plans tomorrow.

Katherine sent that photo with the explanation, “My view for the last 40 minutes … This is ridiculous. At least 3 days/week it’s taking +1.5hrs for me to go 8 miles!” Others on buses have been reporting an especially sluggish return to West Seattle tonight, too. This report via Twitter is one of several:
I was on C line and it took exactly 47mins to go one block(!) on 1st/Pioneer Square. Total 1.5 hr from Westlake/9th to Alaska Junction. It's been lovely for a couple of weeks lately.

Before 5 pm, via email, Katie reported a C Line bus being at a virtual standstill, and then: “The driver finally rebelled and drove down 1st Ave S and got on the overpass to WS. Passengers cheered.” Metro’s alert simply blames “congestion.” P.S. The Water Taxi is reportedly backed up too, with a longer wait because the smaller-capacity Spirit of Kingston is on the West Seattle run.

SATURDAY STREET CLOSURES – WEST SEATTLE: The West Seattle Grand Parade will close California SW south of Admiral Way, to Edmunds, by 8 am tomorrow, until early afternoon. Some side streets near the start and end of the route are used for staging and breakdown. The NO PARKING signs are up for 7 am-3 pm on affected streets. Bus reroutes are linked here.
WEEKEND STREET CLOSURES – WHITE CENTER: On Saturday, the White Center Jubilee Days street fair will close 16th SW all day and into the night between Roxbury and 100th. On Sunday, the Jubilee Days parade will close 16th in the morning between 100th and 112th.

4:58 PM: Avoid Delridge Way at Juneau. Seattle Fire and Police have sent a big response for a reported rollover. SB Delridge is reported to be blocked. We’re on the way to find out more.
5:16 PM: Our crew just arrived. No injuries. The driver whose vehicle rolled hit a parked motor home. Police are letting traffic through both ways, alternating directions.
5:22 PM: Police say no one was in the motor home when it was hit.
This is actually south of Juneau, right across from Louisa Boren STEM K-8. SDOT has a cleanup crew on scene.
ADDED FRIDAY AFTERNOON: City records show the 40-year-old woman driving the car was cited for inattentive driving.
