STADIUM ZONE: The Mariners start a series against the Tigers tonight, 7:10 pm. That means the West Seattle Water Taxi runs into the late night.
Looks like still no parking on a lot of harbor between the bridge and 7 Eleven – where is everyone that works on this stretch supposed to park?
At 7pm Thursday the No parking signs say 27th to 28th- Saturday to Sunday & have a notation about a PARADE! Isn’t the TORCHLIGHT PARADE downtown on Saturday night?? Odd.
Actually, for some years now, the Torchlight Parade’s visiting floats have traveled to/from Terminal 5 the night before or after. That’s what those signs are about. The full width of the road is required by some of them.
20 minutes from 3rd/Columbia to 2nd/Columbia this evening on the C-line. Metro really should hand out Xanax to their riders. Lord only knows how long this trip will be today.
On a semi-positive note, SPD has positioned officers in Pioneer Square to direct traffic. It still takes longer (40-45 minutes) than it should but not the BS from last Friday for 1:50 minutes to Alki.
Let’s see if that was not just tied to the stadium event. What’s awesome is that Metro has set such an awful baseline these past weeks that we end up being happy when it takes “just” 1h20 to get to WS!
Yeah Metro’s response has been so awful, it’s like they want folks to go back to driving alone? Over an hour commute by transit means they don’t care of people drive alone or not. Seems backwards from the rhetoric the city spouts.
