TRAFFIC/TRANSIT TODAY: August’s first Friday

(SDOT MAP with travel times/ Is the ‘low bridge’ closed? LOOK HERE/ West Seattle-relevant traffic cams HERE)

6:56 AM: Good morning!

WATER TAXI REMINDERS: The smaller Spirit of Kingston continues on the route through Sunday.

(WSB photo from Thursday)

Then Monday, both Water Taxi routes are OUT OF SERVICE for the downtown dock move, scheduled to resume service August 12th.

WEEKEND NOTES: The tunnel closure that was set for tonight has vanished from advisories so apparently it’s NOT happening … One more reminder that the Blue Angels’ performances today through Sunday (3-4 pm) will NOT close I-90 … The Sounders play Kansas City on Sunday night at CenturyLink Field, 7 pm.

There is a truck roll over blocking three lanes of northbound I5 just south of the WSB.  Back up is five miles now. As the morning commute progresses I would anticipate traffic on northbound 99 to increase significantly

Something is going on, because Northbound traffic on 599 is backed up almost all the way to Tukwila.

Good luck getting to West Seattle from downtown. I walked from 3rd/columbia and passed by the only C line I saw. I then waited  over 10 minutes for it to arrive at the 1st/King stop. It then took us another 20 minutes to turn.  Yes – 20 more minutes to travel a few car lengths. I saw several men giving up and hopping Lime bikes. Travel wisely.

Bus traffic is miserable downtown. I’ve been on a bus for 40 minutes and just hitting 3rd & Seneca now. This is the worst I’ve seen traffic in a while.

  • Seriously? August 2, 2019 (5:53 pm)

Was on the bus for 45 minutes. Got less than 2 blocks. Got off and just walking now. This is unbelievable and totally unacceptable.

Sorry, comment time is over.
