TRAFFIC, TRANSIT, WEATHER: Thursday notes

10:35 AM: The low bridge seems to be having trouble – it’s been closed to surface traffic for more than half an hour and the webcamera suggests repeated tries at closing it. We’re checking with SDOT.

10:50 AM: Confirmed – the low bridge is out of service at the moment with “mechanical issues.” We’re updating separately.

11:05 AM: Back in service.

========

6:03 AM: Good morning! It’s Thursday, August 4th.

    A heads up for upcoming heat waves: Your COVID-19 Home Test Kits specify storage below 86 degrees F or 30 degrees C. My partner gets the credit for spotting this when she actually read the fine print.

      FWIW, that’s just the temperature range they’ve validated for storage though…  it doesn’t necessarily mean that a few 90 degree days of that year-long period results in the kits being ruined.  Don’t throw anything out based on your home getting over 86 F with test kits in it.

        Leave it in your car & it’ll get to 120 degrees no problem.

    Is there a limit to how long the low bridge can be up for?! Stuck on the C bus for over 30 minutes now…

      They seem to be having trouble getting it closed. No official confirmation but I’ve been watching it on the camera since somebody texted us a few minutes ago. Asking SDOT.

Sorry, comment time is over.
