WSBKeymasterHave just deleted several posts that break the posted WSB Forum rules of NO ADVERTISEMENTS. What constitutes an advertisement in the forum, you ask? Posting an unsolicited item promoting a business.
Our Reader Recommendations are for WSB’ers to ASK for recommendations; if you happen to see one in your line of business, you are welcome to answer it, but you are not welcome to simply post an unsolicited plug for a business.
This is a community website but it is also a business and we sell advertising for what are amazingly low rates given the amount of people you reach with a WSB ad. Our traffic has quadrupled since we became a business a year ago but we have not raised our ad rates and don’t intend to do so any time soon — we want to keep offering affordable opportunities for people to showcase and grow their businesses, while supporting West Seattle’s only 24/7 news-information-discussion source. Anyone who wants to inquire about an ad can contact Patrick – all the info’s on the Advertise tab.
There ARE two sections where businesses can initiate posts – Jobs Offered, which are free listings for any West Seattle-based job opening, and Freebies/Deals/Sales, where you are welcome to post a bonafide freebie/deal your business is offering (it’s also open to non-businesspeople too).
And thanks yet again to those who flagged us on the posts in question. If you have seen what looks like an unsolicited ad that’s been posted here before and hasn’t been deleted, we appreciate your help in pointing it out.
