MarieMemberWe will be having our first West Seattle Song Circle this coming Sunday night, November 15, from 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. Everyone welcome. You don’t have to have a great voice, just be reasonably in tune and enjoy singing.
For details and/or directions to the venue, please email me.
Thanks!

hopeyParticipantIt would be great if you could post some more public information about this event. I’m a singer, but I’ve not heard about this and would like to better understand if it’s something I would enjoy doing. I don’t know what a “Song Circle” involves — is it like shapenote singing? — so I’d like to know more, and I suspect others would too.

flowerpetalMemberHere’s the orginal post from six days ago. This sounds like fun to me and I would love to attend future dates.

hopeyParticipantI’m glad you posted the link, I missed the original thread somehow. Thanks!

MarieMemberFor others who may have missed the original post, I propose that we model this on other song circles. I am attaching here links to the greater Seattle Song Circle and the Portland version along with a link to info about the songbook that is most often used by these groups. (Other music is welcome, too.)
The greater Seattle group is great, but I found that attending their sessions can involve a lot of driving. By keeping our group in WS, we can do less driving, more singing.
I hope you can join us. If not this Sunday, perhaps another time.
