I remember hearing the noise then and being thankful when it went away. Now it’s back–in my Highland Park neighborhood anyway. Is anyone else hearing it? Does anyone have any new ideas about how to figure out what it is and make it stop? It’s hugely interfering with my sleep and driving me CRAZY!

As for Junction parking – if you have been following our coverage of the Junction parking review (scroll down to the WSB Categories list in the sidebar and click Junction parking review for the full archive), you’ll know that the reason the city is NOT putting pay stations in – which was a rather shocking decision to many who expected it was a done deal – is that they did not find enough of the spaces taken enough of the time.
They are going to increase the # of 2-hour zones in some areas around the central business district. Also to clarify, the Junction (business) Association does not manage the lot next to Mural/Fresh Bistro/Rocksport etc. They are involved with the free lots behind the Senior Center/Garlic Jim’s/etc. area and behind the west side of Calif between Oregon and Edmunds – marked by banners. As for businesses working together – impossible to legislate … if you come down to this end of town you will see a couple of crabby custom-made signs on both sides of the Morgan Junction Starbucks/Subway/Abbondanza/Windermere building that declare something like ABSOLUTELY NO ZEEKS PIZZA/FEEDBACK LOUNGE PARKING HERE NO WAY NO HOW DON’T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT. OK, a little exaggeration, but not much.

Hi yikes, Angelina’s is under new ownership, and is temporarily closed for remodeling. They’re adding a bar, and renovating the restrooms, among other things.
They apparently plan on keeping much of the same menu, along with adding items of their own.

Glad to hear the followup, Schmitz Park Dad. I have also been talking to the precinct re: concerns voiced in a news-section comment thread today about the flyers that go around neighborhoods after burglaries, and have posted some clarifying information. As I’m about to note in a separate item, this is what the WSB Forums and similar discussion venues can do at their best – become collaborative chats that lead to progress.
Graffiti vandalism is the nonviolent crime that boils our blood the most, as it is so visible to so many people, and I’m glad to see so many people willing to do what it takes to fight back and show the vandals there’s just no point, STOP IT NOW. Wonder though if that Schmitz Park wall might be a nice spot for a mural like the one on the Super 24 store …
