Associated Recreation Council, the non-profit partner with Seattle Parks & Recreation, is currently looking for individuals who wish to actively support their communities while having fun and help provide a great experience for children ages 5-12.
We are hiring for School-Age Child Care Counselors for our Before School and After School Programs at:
– Alki Community Center
– Hiawatha Community Center
– Schmitz Park Elementary School
School Year Shifts:
– Monday-Friday, 7:00am-9:30am and/or 3:00pm-6:00pm
– Ideally this person would have the AM and PM shift but this is not necessary; please share your availability in your application
Our Counselors:
– Organize and lead programs and activities such as: arts and crafts, organized games, cultural activities, drama, music, story hour, sports, field trips, and other special projects and events
– Work with other staff to ensure the care and safety of participants at all times
– Must be willing to complete training for certification in First Aid/CPR, Food Handlers Permit, HIV/AIDS blood-borne pathogens education
Requirements:
– Eighteen years of age or older
– High School diploma/GED or transcripts of secondary education
– At least one year experience working with 5-12 year olds
– Clear Tuberculosis results within the past year
– Must pass criminal background check
– Must provide proof of eligibility to work in the US and valid government issued ID
– Must sign up for direct deposit with either checking or savings account or Payroll Paycard

Hello, this is URGENT. Our mixed breed dog Lilly just escaped from our new apartment near the corner of Delridge & Thistle. She’s hard of hearing, her eyesight isn’t great and she does not have a collar on! She is a very gentle, sweet dog who will go up and say hi to anyone. Please call me at 206-765-6117 if anyone sees her or can hold her and I will drive over immediately!
She has a blonde coat, somewhat short hair but white facial fur and she is a very pretty, unique looking dog. Medium sized, (smaller than a golden retriever but larger than a shitzu)

I just started at Facebook Group for folks who live in the Arroyos — hopefully it can turn into a place for photos, neighborhood happenings, and the like.

Safeco’s concession supplier, Centerplate, has a CEO who is an animal abuser. There is video surveillance of him abusing a dog and it’s horrible–so consider yourself warned. Centerplate is refusing to let him go and none of their contracts, including with Safeco, have been terminated.
Also, the CEO, Hague, initially lied and said it was his friend’s dog, when he is in fact the owner. Many sources are still reporting it as his friend’s dog.
