It is also great to hear that two of Clintons top supporters James Carville and Terry McAuliffe are ready to not only back Obama but open their wallets to him because they understand that it is time to unite.

Patty, thanks so much for following up on this. I will call you when we are ready! Right now I just need a bid so I can work on the budget. We have a 10,000 sqft lot that needs to be fully (re)fenced!

    Nothing changes, does it?

You are on the brink of victory.. and the conversation still centers on how poorly Hillary ran her campaign and how dishonest/amoral she is.

And now you have picked up a new thread.. how Hillary reflects poorly on all women.

This isn’t even worthy of comment.

But there is something that is.

Have you thought at all how all of this is going to effect the millions of people who supported Hillary.. who still support Hillary… and whose vote for her had nothing to do with her sex or his race?

Now that might be worth thinking about…

of course, you could just condemn them along with all those ignorant people who don’t know what’s good for them and those racists who only voted because of race.. and those misguided old women…

(all your comments… on this thread…)

That’s an election strategy i haven’t seen used before.. and one i am not going to participate in.. but who knows.. you seem to think it will work.

Thanks to all of you who replied (even the grumpy ones – you know who you are). : )

BTW – My partner was diagnsed with Type 2 diabetes and we made the vegan diet shift as a way of dealing with that and it has worked wonderfully (with no need for medication). So. . . there is more to this. It is a healthy diet and I feel better than I have in a long time – we have each lost a lot of weight too. We are lucky to live here with so many great choices of what and where to eat. Thanks for all of the info. I learned of some places I did not know about.

I LOVE SLEEPLESS!!! They are the nicest people and the best coffee!!!

However – I don’t want the word to get out too much! I would hate to be in a line extending out on Harbor.

    Dood thanks, that was at least a quarters worth of info ( ;

Yes that corridor needs more options for eating out. A good coffee shop to drive thru in the am and somewhere to pick up some decent food for din on the way home. From the Bridge to Westwood is aproximately 4 miles of well traveled road with only one Teryaki, one pizza, one taco truck and 2 coffee shops (without a little drive up

    window)! Big opportunity there.

Anyone know what kind of bakery that is in the building kind of across from Olympic pizza?? There is no sign but must be a commessary bakery for local coffee shops??? I,ve seen the bakers rack in the windows and always wonder (I used to be a baker)…..

hey – i think i recall TR saying that the construction next door was only identified as new business/office space????

I’m noticing lately what is going in that corridor between Bubbles up north and Olympia down south. That could be the beginning of a solid business core of the Valley, now that there is positive foot traffic into both places. They could act as anchors.

I remember a million years ago before the Madison Valley area was revitalized, as they say. One or two places plopped down on lower Madison….then, one by one others started heading in and established foot traffic. This phase of Delridge, I think, reminds me of that beginning.

Look at Madison Valley around The Bailey-Boushay House now! It is unrecognizable and completely renewed and thriving.

A drive-through espresso place would work in Delridge! That corridor gets SO much AM traffic that it would surely thrive!!!! Maybe someone reading will run with your idea.

I just drove down Delridge yesterday looking specifically at houses that might be salvageable for some enterprising vegan/veggie to rehab and run a quality vegetarian restaurant out of.

I am convinced there is a market down there. But, people need to snatch up the properties and NOT tear down, but rehab and preserve the remaining character.

ok. that’s my nickel’s worth for the evening.

jkboison,Our family has had a very positive experience at CSWS. Our 3 1/2 yo daughter started in 9/07 and has really blossomed there. Her teachers are kind, thoughtful and incredibly creative. Such a variety of learning experiences presented. Sometimes I have a hard time leaving in the morning b/c I want to watch the kids as they explore their environment. I also love how much time they spend outside. I’m also a big fan of the year-round schedule.

All that said, I also believe that different kids have different needs, and CSWS may not be the right place for everyone. We originally started at the Cottage School at Gatewood and lasted about 2 weeks. Just not the right place for our daughter.

Richardson is a tough choice, because he was part of the Clinton adminsitration and the Clinton clan got very angry with him when he supported Obama. It almost rubs salt in the wounds, for the moderate Clinton supporters.

I much prefer a Clinton surrogate over Clinton, if the Obama campaign chooses that is the best chance to win in November. Rendall, Wesley Clark, someone who can reach out to Hill’s supporters…

Truly I think the party is about to turn against Hill’s. What she did tonight was nothing short of amazing. Chuck Todd compared it to the head coach of the losing team of the Super Bowl being interviewed after the game. The other team had won, the time had run out, they’d taken the Lombardi trophy. They then say, well we are clearly a much better team, and he have shown that in the 3rd quarter. I don’t accept the outcome of the game, and I will let you know what I decide.

Anyone know what is being built? Is it an addition to Olympic Pizza??

Also, when is someone going to open a decent DRIVE THRU coffee shop on Delridge?? I would buy one everyday!!

Erik…it took me 4 1/2 years after my divorce to date…and it’s still a foreign concept. I think it’s the word that gets me..it has so many expectations. I’ve always preferred “getting together” or “hanging out” with someone of the opposite sex. Of course, I was with the ex for 23 years…so it took a while to adjust my attitude re: men – lol.

    glad you’re making the effort..

so do we show up at BPP with a book, and everyone sit at the bar and strike up conversations? lol…

yes, House…are you with us? and no poly-tics…I like that..:)

Feelings and lack of respect aside, the numbers are too close to ignore. I don’t want Obama to lose because Clinton’s supporters feel ignored. It would be petty to vote for McCain, but the possibility does exist. If she would have run a better campaign and not been for the war before she was against the war, the roles could easily have been reversed.

I’m still wondering who could bridge the gap between camps. And I don’t know either. Just talking.

I’m just trying to reconcile the traditional idea that the VP is largely a ceremonial post with why a politician like Clinton would want the position knowing she would be able to exert more influence from her Senate position or within the Cabinet (Health Secretary?).

His speech was amazing – he is so grateful, humble, uniting, GRACIOUS, respectful and hopeful in the face of a total slap when she didnt step aside….He always takes the high road and I believe he’ll continue that way through the election which is going to be ugly (although McCains speech tonight left little to be exited or worried about!). She is a stubborn egomaniac for whom I’ve lost a lot of repect. I actually dont want her in the VP spot – it would be way too disfuctional with her AND Bill as VP. If she’s this stubborn now what would she be like in the VP’s office when she isnt getting her way? What an historical night – I’m so glad to be witness to it!!

BDG, what would you suggest to unite the party in lieu of that (VP)?

SA, don’t worry about being cynical here, it’s welcomed ;)

Nawww, I don’t believe or want to believe she is planning for that outcome. It was a very sick and poor choice of words on her part, but I have to give her more credit than that.

Yes, it’s an unspoken fear many have unfortunately for obvious reasons, but it doesn’t negate the ambition to make a difference and possibly change some mindsets out there.

If it were a reason to dismiss a candidate you’d be having thousands of calls if not millions calling from payphones.

I’m still wondering why so much emphasis was on the Admiral Pub, when there seems to be such a lack of personal accountability when they step into a bar.

Your quote about bars that won’t serve more than two drinks to regulars that are driving is a little far fetched. YOu don’t have “regulars” drinking two drinks and then being closed out.

How many times have you been asked for your drink order and then followed by “Did you folks drive tonight?” It just doesn’t happen.

There’s alot of signs to cut people off, but I’ve also known some pretty good functioning drunks that you’d have a hard time recognizing imparity.

Are we talking mental or physical age?….19 and 46. hehehe

And Jan, as for being introverted/extroverted I can swing wildly depending on the circumstances. Lately I’ve forced myself into the dating world, kicking and screaming, but it had to be done.lol

I hate to be cynical but is anyone else thinking the reason she is interested in the VP spot is because of the ‘A’ word?
