Carson, I’m not saying all Boston firefighters are good (hell, I’m not even Irish :-) I’m just saying that the firemen I happened to meet in Boston, drunk or high or sober, would have pissed on anyone who told them to let a fire burn and then put out the fire.
Drug and alcohol testing? I’m all for it — don’t know the situation in Boston, but do know that the baseball players’ union agreed to anonymous testing to see the magnitude of the problem and, strangely, suddenly, the results — with names — were “leaked.” It makes one wonder about the sanctity of agreements, doesn’t it?
It might surprise you that I actually have problems with unions as well — many union leaders were corrupted, especially in the 80’s when they lept in bed with the R’s and suddenly dressed in $5000 suits and took seats on the boards of corporations.
End of thread-jacking ramble. Back to corrupting youth :-)
