This year I’ll be spending the whole evening at a costume party elsewhere. Any suggestions about the most effective way for communicating to parents and their kids that it would be waste of their time to knock on my door and wait for a treat they won’t be getting?

Should I leave my porch light turned off or would that just be an invitation for trick-or-treaters to vandalize my mail box?

    Suggestions appreciated.

We would definitely suggest no lights. We haven’t heard about much vandalism but having escorted trick-or-treating endeavors … we would definitely not have gone up an unlit walkway to an unlit door.

anyone heard if the Admiral junction is doing their usual trick or treat event on Halloween afternoon? I can’t find any mention of it here – or anywhere else for that matter.

we have been meaning to ask our Admiral contacts about that. sending notes now. if not, we’ll go squint at the store windows tomorrow … can’t find any mention online but sometimes we just have to go look; for example, The Junction’s trick-or-treat is mentioned online but no specific times, so we had to go hunt down the posters to add the 1-3 pm :)
