mypatience1978ParticipantI have seen several people post good ideas for party theme ideas and games for parties here, and now I need your help! I am in need of some fun games to play for a Rock N’ Roll theme birthday party for my 11 yr old son. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

2 Much WhineParticipantDo you have Guitar Hero or Rockband on the Wii or Xbox? That’s a start. You could also make a CD with several songs that the kids might know and have them guess who the artists are (you could throw in some old and new stuff and break your heart when more kids get “One Direction” than “The Beatles”)- the winner gets a prize (the obvious prize is a fifth of Jack and a night at the Edgewater with a groupie but it’s not so appropriate for an 11 year old so I won’t even mention it). Not sure when the party is but the EMP is free on first Thursday (although I don’t think it is during summer months). Another thing that appeals to some folks is to go past Kurt Cobain’s place on Lake Wa. and hang out in the park for a bit then head to Jimi Hendrix’s grave in Renton. A day at Bumbershoot would be an amazing rock and roll party but at $40 advanced per person (kids under 10 get in free) it’s not a very reasonable option. Then there’s always the option of a snack (or lunch) at Easy Street and each kid gets to pick out a used CD and maybe the birthday boy gets an Easy Street T-shirt? I bet you might even be able to talk them into throwing in a rock poster or two – just a guess.

Ms. SparklesParticipantRock & Roll quiz game
Air Guitar contest
Rock-n-Roll memorabilia/ symbols treasure or scavenger hunt
Find the herion in the haystack (kidding!)
Rock-n-Roll musical chairs or freeze dance
Hunt down Caspar Babypants and ask him when The Presidents of the U.S. are getting back together ;-)

sunsetMemberWhat kind of rock ‘n’ roll? If it’s a makeup-and-hairspray wearing genre, you could give the kids some Halloween makeup and dollar-store hairspray to play with at the start of the party.
