RobindianneParticipantThis is so true! I have done this (she said with her head hung low in shame). I want one of those seatbelty things for my dogs.

dbseaMemberNot surprising that it can cause accidents. When I see someone driving with their dog in their lap I wish I could reach in for a big slap!
Come on, do you think that maybe you won’t be able to pull off that surprise emergency maneuver with your startled dog in your lap? But it’s worth running over someone’s kid because little precious has to be in your lap.
You may detect some slight sarcasm here:) because this kind of thing makes me crazy!

JimmyGMemberWe refer to those dogs as “Canine Air Bags”.

DBPMemberYeah. And what about this . . .
Â

I saw these two driving through White Center a couple of years back but haven’t seen them since.
Â

Wonder where they were headed.
I hope they made it.

DelridgeResidentMemberRobindianne I would highly recommend getting a seatbelt for your dog, or even a harness with a short lead/clip. Not only can you focus on driving more, but it keeps your dog safe in the event you are in an accident.

RobindianneParticipantSo I bought a cool seatbelt thingy from Pet Pros. Used it on the way home and it works! Wahoooooo! Lucy even used it to lean into the door without fear of flying. hee hee hee. Safety for all.
Thanks Hammerhead for starting this whole thing!
