Does anyone still use the C9 outdoor lights? I have three strings (25′ each) of multi-colored bulbs, as well as spare bulbs. Also have a box of gutter clips. I hate to just throw them out, but cannot get up on a ladder anymore…

I ordered meals from Westerly Kitchen (westerleykitchen.com) for a few months earlier this year when I was recovering from a hospital stay. You can order meals for three, four or five days a week, and two to three meals a day. It’s a set menu, although you can choose meat or vegetarian, and they can accommodate many major allergies. I believe all the meals are already gluten free. It was not inexpensive but the food was good and the portions generous, and they delivered them fresh once or twice a week depending on how many meals you ordered for the week.

Maven meals is great. Long-standing Burien business, good ingredients, reasonable prices. mavenmeals.com

From Acme, WA theacmebox.com this is a larger operation offering some fully prepared foods and some meals that come as ingredients that you cook yourself. Mix and match. Healthy, interesting, quality.
These are the only two that I have found that didn’t look and taste like microwave entrees. Both are no commitment so you can try and never order again if you don’t like it.

Falcon, thanks for pointing this out. Even worse is the celebration of plastic that has become Halloween (and other holidays as well). Talk about a true horror show. Hopefully, this trend will pass once it becomes commonplace for every household to display a 12-ft. plastic skeleton and huge inflatable ghost (the plastics industry loves you), but this only means that these monstrosities will end up further poisoning our environment in landfills and elsewhere. It’s a shame that the American celebration of holidays has to involve destruction and waste; Christmas is next with lighting that can be seen from space, using enough energy to heat 500,000 homes for a year, useless junk gifts, and enough paper wrapping to decimate entire forests. Earth just can’t get a break from us.

Please think twice about your Halloween decorations next year! Those fake spiderwebs intended to give your house a creepy feel, (but actually don’t when every third house has them) can be a literal death trap that easily entangles, traps and kills birds, small mammals, bees and other vital insects. Not to mention the environmental impact of the non-recyclable single use polyester.

Hello all, I’m looking to find a new PCP in the West Seattle area. I’ve been going to Swedish for years, and while they are generally good, I keep getting switched to a new doctor. I would like to find a doctor that I can stick with for some time. Maybe with a private practice I could maintain a doctor connection for more than a year.

I’m a middle age male and would prefer a male physician. Also would prefer a physician with experience or specialization in recovery from substance use disorder. Thank you for any recommendations you can offer!

In reply to: Dogs in STORES!!

    “Dogs in STORES”
I see you. And I’m repulsed.

Not long ago in Target, I witnessed someone’s bundle of joy take a hot steamy right there on the carpet between boy’s and electronics (it was only a matter of time). The owner stood over ‘exhibit A’ and the offender with what I can only describe as a bemused look and said “he’s so naughty today!Hahaha!” She was twirling around helplessly waiting for someone to come to her aid and make it disappear. Well, at least it wasn’t a ‘sh*t and run’. At least the dog looked a little sheepish and guilty. Can’t say as much for sentient being on the other end of the leash.

And while we’re at it…how about them babies sat on counter tops where food is served? Leaky diapers be damned! (Mama’s tired, whaah, whaah).

R.I.P decorum, good manners…and public health.

Salty’s on Alki in West Seattle is hiring for a call center customer service rep to work in our reservations/customer service center.

Shifts: Thursday through Monday. Weekends required, evening availability preferred end time no later than 9pm, 30 hours minimum to start, pretty flexible on total hours.

Looking for someone who has good customer service skills, eye for detail, and good communication skills.

No experience necessary, we will train the right candidate!

If you had this it would help: some useful experience in either, restaurant settings, call centers, or front desk/host positions useful. Experience with OpenTable reservation software or multi-line phone systems experience big plus.

Basic skills needed are computer proficiency, communication, ability to sit for extended periods of time, and problem solving skills.

    Salary: $17.27 per hour
