If you think you were ticketed before you’d been there 2 hours you should challenge it.

The ticketing policy, though, has been in place for years. We got a ticket four or five summers ago when we parked there to start our Summer Fest Info Booth day and got distracted from going back a short time later to get the car moved to someplace it could stay for the duration. – TR

My husband and I have been going to Dr. Yi for nearly 13 years now. His staff has changed over the years, but everyone, to a person, has been friendly, approachable and helpful. I would strongly recommend Dr. Yi to anyone in West Seattle. He will answer your questions, giving you easy to understand answers, and he will let you know what your options are.

I had the same idea as alkiwendy as far as contacting the above two companies.

Also, you might try the Classy Chassis Car Club of Burien and see if any of their members could help:

But, I *do* have to say that I really like Ssyphus’ offer of the VW bus. I have a deep love for the old air-cooled VWs, my only car ever, being a 1967 Beetle which I had from the mid-’80’s to the mid-’90’s.

Whatever you decide, congrats to you both!

    Great reminder birdrescuer, thank you.

If you have baseboard heaters then vacuum them out, they’re usually relatively easy to open.

After changing my furnace filter I will remove all the heat registers and shove the shop-vac hose down as far as I can to remove anything that has collected during the past year, then I’ll run the fan for 10-15 mins with all the windows open.

Of course it means having to dust and vacuum the house after, but it’s well worth it when the cold weather arrives.

Another easy chore is to open and vacuum any bathroom fans too, augments better air flow.

Hi! We were hoping to find a fun vintage getaway car for our wedding in West Seattle. Does anyone know anybody who would like to make $150 to drive two newlyweds to downtown Seattle on Friday 8/31? It would probably be an hour, arrive by 10:30 pm, and be done by 11:30 pm.

My dream car would be a 1970s convertible caddy, pontiac grand ville or caprice but we’re open to all sorts of options, but we are too low key for limos or the other fancy shmancy rental options. Fingers crossed!

    Thanks, Scotty & Di

    Hi everyone;

Just want to give people a heads up. An unstable boat pulled up to the very south end of Lincoln Park. The boat is in rough shape, no license, really ruff shape. It appears there is a man & woman on the boat. On Tuesday they rowed to the park & some walkers saw the woman had 2 black eyes. They tried to help her though wasn’t successful even though the woman appeared to want help. I then saw them row to shore on Wednesday when I was walking. The man was verbally abusive to her. I was going to approach them but he was very combative. They walked up the driveway & I didn’t see them again. If you do see anything concerning, please call 911. I did as well.

Thanks for looking out for everyone’s safety.

You might see a homeless encampment or be charged by an off-leash dog tearing up carefully restored native plants. (And the dog probably belongs to a wealthy neighborhood resident who complains about the homeless trashing “his” park while voting against any candidate or tax that might devote money toward solving the problem.) Other than that, it’s perfectly safe.

While I appreciate the need to advertise a small business I am really disappointed with the SIX standing banners in addition to the purple Fan Man on the roof of the building. Definitely not the greatest first impression of our little city and makes this corner look more like Aurora Ave than West Seattle. We hoped they only temporary for the initial opening, but alas they still there.

I think this kind of advertising will really take away from the future efforts to beautify the entry to West Seattle by both SDOT and the Cruzen’s generous donation of a new entry feature.

not only did they send you a ballot, the return postage was FREE! How easy can they make it? If you think things are bad now, keep up the no voting records, and imagine how bad things will be in 6 years under this regime. Boggles the mind how completely uninvolved some people are…do they not care? prefer to bitch instead of doing something about it while this country goes down in flames?
