LOL.. no judgements here
“If meat-eaters take umbrage to that, it’s more about *them* (their guilt, denial, twisting of facts, justification for their behavior, etc.)”
sorry .. I am still laughing.
i am just an old farm girl.. and that is an accurate assessment of the way i was brought up. i didn’t know meat came in those little cellophane packages until i was a teenager and we moved to the big city.. and i do everything i can not to buy it that way.
i actually liked getting to know the animals i ate… i treated them really well.
i admit, i have a real problem killing… but i have no problem eating… so, i have butchered my own meat.
i would prefer not to be eaten.. but i also haven’t noticed anyone fattening me up and taking responsibility for my well being lately.. so if what goes around comes around.. i am probably safe:)
i was taught to avoid cougers… and bears.
Soclwrkinmotn.. avoidance is so much more effective than fighting:)
And i treat the veggies and herbs in my backyard garden equally well.. something you might appreciate if the sun ever comes out long enough to create the bounty this attention deserves…
I also share:)
i think it is a really good thing that people are thinking so much about what they put into their mouths… we don’t have to grow our own food to be aware of it’s source.
i can’t promise not to eat meat in front of vegetarians.. but i can promise you i won’t give you a bad time for your choice as long as you don’t give me a bad time for mine.
i am sorry soclwrkrinmotn.. i have this bizarre cartoon in my head of you doing battle with a couger… i woudl bet on you ;->
