West Seattle development: One more new listing of note

While researching some real-estate/development sites tonight, we happened onto a new listing that might be of interest, particularly to people in Gatewood/Sunrise Heights: On the northwest corner of 35th and Holden, the “Complete Auto Repair” site at 7617 35th SW is part of a parcel listed for $1,195,000, described as “Rare development opportunity with over 13,000 sq. ft. of level NC-2-40 land with excellent westerly views … Can be assembled with adjacent additional 6,870 sq. ft. of NC-2-40 (with great 35th SW frontage) for almost 20,000 sq. ft.” Here’s the listing.

Oh dear! Ben, who runs the C.A.R. is the very best mechanic, and the person who keeps my good old cars running. I wonder where he will go or whether he will stay in business. He’s been so wonderful over the years. I’m wondering also whether this is his choice or not…

The listing says: MLS Number: 452111
    Property Type: VacantLand
    .
    Tell that to Ben.

Does Ben rent? I saw that sign up last night when I was driving home and wondered if it was the business or the lot.

NOOO!!!!! Ben must stay in West Seattle, I too have older cars and he is the most honest mechanic I have ever worked with. Great local guy who really respects his customers.

I will follow where ever he ends up!

If Ben is indeed closing up shop I can’t say enough good things about Harrahs Auto Shop on California Ave behind the old Blockbuster. These guys run the most honest shop I’ve ever been to. After another local shop charged me over $500 to fix my old Ford only to have it literally catch fire while on the freeway. They not only saved the truck but fixed it for pittance. I now take all my cars to them. I trust them, like them and so do my cars. All the gear head men in my life feel the same way too.

Ah — just what we need – more congestion and canyonizing of our once open thoroughfares.

The second house on the north side is also NC2-40

Sorry, comment time is over.
