did they go thru your glovebox? I’ve considered set mousetraps in glove box and other places in the past…at least something to get their attention…;-)
Funny thing is, after the last TWO times the Subaru got broken into, we keep absolutly NOTHING in the car. It has the stock Soob am/fm/cassette player.
We think it was broken into before because wife had a Target bag or Old Navy bag for trash. Since then we have switched over to fully clear trash bag. I dont get it.
I called the SW Precinct and filed a report. If anyone has been vandalized or broken into, dont hesitate to report it. This is how they compile crime stats and distribute officers in the community.
Hi Todd,
Having lived in the Backbay/Southend area of Boston for 3 years, and having my car prowled frequently I learned to leave the car unlocked with a note taped to the window saying “car unlocked – nothing of value inside”. It worked. On occasion I could tell that someone had been inside the car, but nothing was broken or taken. It’s a desperate move, but if you are really tired of getting your window replaced as I was you might consider it.
Best of luck
It is frustrating to have one’s car broken into repeatedly. I liked the note idea from one commenter and considered that as well. While I have not been broken into at home, at my work in Columbia City where I park on the street, I was broken into 6 times in 6 months. I have a Subaru and the breakers used a tool wedged between the glass and rubber to reach my lock. I now leave the glove box wide open, along with my ashtray and middle storage box. No break ins since. Good luck!
Diane, thanks, thats a great idea.
I found out today that is what they are doing to my car as well. I see the dent in the trim where they wedged something in there. They must prey on old Soobs because of this.
Sorry, comment time is over.
