you just made an old woman cry.
Sarah Palin is not the best thing that has happened to anyone I know…
and definately not the democrats.
She is the best thing that has happened to the wealthiest 2% of our nation and to the corporations that take our tax dollars and invest them elsewhere…
She is the gun toting fish clubbing gutter mouth fishnet wearing female wet dream of the masses…
a cartoon distraction that threatens to end our democracy.
no matter how quickly she disappears into the Alaskan wilderness..
she popularized the template that others are following.
We will never be rid of her.
January 13, 2011 at 5:59 pm #713971
dawsonctParticipantI don’t believe she is good for anyone but Sarah, and the billionaires she shills for.
She is bad for America and Americans.
Unlike the official Republican Party line, we Democrats don’t wish failure on our Nation and her people in order to regain power.
January 13, 2011 at 5:59 pm #713972
dawsonctParticipantBut yeah, good job Hoop, you’ve probably started another 100+ post thread.
January 13, 2011 at 6:35 pm #713973
JiggersMemberThere’s no sex appeal about her..Nadda’s!
January 13, 2011 at 7:31 pm #713974
SmittyParticipantWhy doesn’t the Left just ignore her? She gets them so riled up, it’s funny. Every time they react it makes her more determined.
Is it because they are trying to make her the face of the Republican party because they know she would get slaughtered (uh oh, can I use that term?) if she was the nominee?
I ignore her all the time, fyi. I wish they would as well.
January 13, 2011 at 7:53 pm #713975
hooper1961Memberjiggers she requires a case of beer or more and a bit of desperation
January 13, 2011 at 8:43 pm #713976
dawsonctParticipantSee hoop, we don’t disagree all the time! I’m in the “or more” camp.
WAY more, and I AM desperate!

DPMemberYou guys are nuts!
I like Sarah Palin.
I think she’s cute.
And spunky.
I even like her accent.
I could definitely see myself getting “lost in the tundra” with her for a while — as long as I knew we were ultimately going to be rescued.
That first night, we’d be huddled around the signal fire together, sharing a pot of “tundra tea” — whatever the hell that is — and talking politics into the wee hours.
After a while, we’d grow sleepy. Then I’d get up, wiping a moose turd off my boots, and yawn meaningfully.
Well, it’s gettin’ late, Ma’am. I think we’d both better turn in, don’t you?
Turn into what, DP?
Aw . . . that’s just cowboy talk, Ma’am. It means ‘go to bed.’
I knew that! I meant, who’s going to get the sleeping bag and who’s going to sleep out in the permafrost? How about we arm-wrestle for it?
And then . . .
Um . . .
[Due to technical difficulties, this fantasy has been cancelled.]
January 13, 2011 at 8:55 pm #713978
JoBParticipantSmitty..
it would be so much easier to ignore Sarah Palin if the republican party hadn’t put her on the Presidential platform…
but they did…
and her incendiary style got support
now we have more wanna be Sarah’s of both sexes than we have Republican candidates who take the business of governing seriously.
And you don’t think that’s a problem?
January 13, 2011 at 11:05 pm #713979
SmittyParticipantMore Romneys/Christies less Palins/Bachmans.
What does that make me, and Eisenhower Republican?
January 13, 2011 at 11:27 pm #713980
hooper1961MemberDan Evans was a decent Governor and Senator
January 13, 2011 at 11:41 pm #713981
thansenMemberI listen to Ed Schultz radio show during my lunch break and today he was talking about whether this will be the end of Sarah.
The answer from his guest was NO.
The reason is the Teaparty/Koch Bros/Faux/GOP has invested so much money in her and they know she has a base that will never leave her and there’s money to be made there.
While the good news is she will never be elected to a national position, certainly never become President, she will sadly be in our lives until she no longer makes the rich richer.
She’s a pawn and her ego is so high and her intellect is so low she doesn’t even realize it.
January 13, 2011 at 11:42 pm #713982
JoBParticipantSmitty…
that only makes you an Eisenhower Republican if you refuse to elect the Palins/Bachmans.
As i remember Ike had integrity.
January 14, 2011 at 3:54 pm #713983
JiggersMemberDid Palin insert the term “blood libel” by herself, or was the script written by somebody else for her? Either way, she looks more like an idiot than ever, and as you can see, no one in her party is backing her now. I bet that she’s too stupid to even understand how that term originated. She comes over more like a racist now than ever before. Do you want that to be your next president?
January 14, 2011 at 4:13 pm #713984
redblackParticipantDP: gross. stupid is a turn-off for me. so is weird speech cadence.
smitty: yeah. kind of like youse guys kept telling dems that clinton was the de facto nominee in ’08 – starting in ’06. i told cons back then that i didn’t like clinton, and i did everything within my meager power to make sure that didn’t happen.
christie? the fat dude from new jersey? not sure if that’s who you mean, but the governor of new jersey as a grade-A a-hole.
romney? why do i always feel like i’m being convinced to buy a lemon every time that guy speaks? maybe it’s the fake-looking hair and the game show personality. and being an apologist for the top 2%.
romney scares me, because people might actually buy his rope-a-dope and sink this country into even worse misery.
then again, he can’t deficit spend to break the government like republicans have been wont to do for 30 years. and the next president – whether it’s in ’12 or ’16 – will be tasked with paying down the top 2%’s debt.
palin, on the other hand, just makes me wince. kind of like george costanza. or gaylord focker.
January 14, 2011 at 4:28 pm #713985
WMOParticipantI’m with you there Jiggers. Palin has no real understanding of the term “Blood Libel.” It looks to me like she is being handled (tooled) by senior GOP leadership. They keep her out there on the crazy edge, and that makes whoever replaces the Bush/Cheney camp appear to be more moderate and electable.
It is an old speech and debate trick, and the GOP works it well. Get people talking about her and her comments, and avoid holding our currently elected and serving officials accountable for their actions.
Just keepin’ them honest with fair and balanced news here in WS.

365StairsParticipantIt’s refreshing to hear representatives of the majority of the population take down the supposed 2nd coming…
Unless people get two votes…SP will be nowhere near the WH in any future election – unless there is a cabinet position open…
Perhaps Ambassador to Madagascar?
January 14, 2011 at 5:33 pm #713987
hooper1961Member365Stairs – siberia not madagascar
January 14, 2011 at 5:34 pm #713988
dhgParticipant365Stairs: Ambassador!!!! The girl couldn’t name the countries of Nafta! Tho that doesn’t disqualify her. I recall a certain governor of South Dakota who was appointed ambassador of South Korea who then asked, “There’s 2 Koreas?”
Regarding who’s an Eisenhower Republican: Most Dems are. That’s how far the country has moved to the right. Read the Republican platform in the 1950’s: They are for a middle class, higher minimum wage, strong unions. Stuff that looks crazy left wing now.
January 14, 2011 at 5:35 pm #713989
JoBParticipant365stairs…
I wish that was true…
but i don’t believe it.
There are several documentaries out now that look at whether or not the base of the republican party actually supports their current policies.
What comes up in the interviews time after time is that the average guy doesn’t…
but they vote republican anyway.
I asked my father-in-law about that.. because he so bitterly resented the take-over of the Arizona republican party by the right wing faction that now controls the national party.
when i asked him if he still voted the republican ticket he looked at me like i was crazy. of course he did. He didn’t support their policies and thought their candidates were little more than carpetbaggers.. but he was a loyal republican. he had always voted republican. he would always vote republican.
if the republican party puts Sarah Palin on the ticket.. republicans will vote for her:(
and if the republican party thinks she can win them the election they will put her on the ticket.
January 14, 2011 at 5:48 pm #713990
WSMomParticipantMy uncle, a lifelong republican and a very smart man, voted for McCain/Palin. When asked about Palin, he shrugged, smiled and looked away mumbling something about her being pretty ridiculous. Yet he still voted for the republican ticket. I think we ignore Sarah at our nation’s peril. Like Barbara Bush, I’d like her to go back to Alaska. Until she does, I can’t help but take her seriously.
January 14, 2011 at 5:57 pm #713991
365StairsParticipantJoB – I have an InLaw family full of those folks too…my wife has banned me from any sort of discussions they get into at family events…
Sadly…I have a very dear 20+ year business mentor who almost gave up on me when I told him I voted for Obama…”I thought I taught you better than that!” “McCain was our man!”….
But..I said…”McCain may been your man…but his running mate was not mine”
January 14, 2011 at 6:00 pm #713992
KenParticipantThere are some Republicans in WA dumber than Palin:
A man illegally tried to cash a check intended for the Dave Reichert congressional campaign around 1 p.m. on Dec. 16.
The man was trying to cash the check even though he said he had no association with the campaign. When questioned, he told employees at the US Bank he thought he was being paid for his vote. The check was for $25.
The man left the bank and it isn’t clear how he got someone else’s personal check. Police were to follow up by checking security cameras.

JoBParticipant365stairs…
ah yes..
the perils of actually thinking through the consequences instead of blind loyalty…
the trouble with blind loyalty is that there is no rational argument you can make to counter it.
Blind loyalty to outdated ideas is a very dangerous thing
and i am not just talking politics…
i think our current economy policy is suffering from a bad case of misplaced blind loyalty to outdated economic maxims too…
but i don’t have a clue how we challenge that
other than opting out as much a possible…
refuse to accept hate speech
think global.. buy local.
