“It is not a difficult debate to prove that leftists embody hate.”

All you have to do is cite Ted Kaczynski’s Manifesto which, come to think of it, has a striking sameness with many of your comments about what and how liberals think.

cD, Not intending to address the points about you not understanding the roll of the Surgeon General or the racist underpinnings of the Alt-right and its connection to Trump? “Tough love” Certainly conveys the degree to which you are uncomfortable with racist and misogynistic “banter.” Not so much, it appears.

As far as Trump’s respect for the Constitution and his choices for SC justices, we’ll see. But if they are the sort that seem down with the numerous unconstitutional measures he advocated during the campaign, I’m sure we’ll have some very interesting oversight reviews.

jo: unfortunately, the america you just described is the america i grew up in. this country is dangerous. over the years, i’ve developed a callous for urban insanity; but i’m sorry this nutbag accosted you. i’d like to think that i would have punched his lights out for him if i had been a witness.

but i just can’t agree about clinton. i’ve not wanted her to be president for a long time.

the sad thing is that no one except sanders ever came close to being a more viable candidate. we have a paucity of altruistic progressives who come without baggage, and the DNC felt the need to run the campaign like a business this election cycle. they disenfranchised over half of their own party in doing so.

that’s not our game, and we should never have played it.

JoB: Advocating for law and order is not hate speech. I want my government to do it’s job to diminish crime so that the people I love have less chance of being harmed. Hillary’s corrupt handling of the State Department unleashed terror in Europe. My brother’s family was right next door to Paris attacks last year–they frequented the restaurant and theater almost on a weekly basis. In 2001, I walked through the smoldering wreckage of ground zero in Manhattan a few weeks after the attack where my wife’s family attended countless funerals. I don’t hate anyone, but I know first-hand what hate does. It is not a difficult debate to prove that leftists embody hate.

Sunuva, What “real Change” were you hopping for? Hillary was running on a platform that was essentially a third term of Obama?

I am not seeing much love from liberals. Just lots of hate and violence.

How about the pain and suffering endured by many who have been oppressed by big government and its associated corruption?

Your naive actions almost ended Western Civilization.

JoB: Be cautious about assuming anything about me please. You need to get your brain around the fact that we are no longer building a socialist bureaucracy under an imperial presidency.

Yes, I am well aware of the tough love Bannon and Yiannopoulos have been dishing out to snowflake liberals. Not my style, but I can certainly decipher the wisdom and logic in their words–it’s quite interesting how many enlightened minorities are in their audiences–don’t you think? Maybe Milo will be head of the FCC?

How can you express so much concern for degradation of the Constitution when your candidate clearly wanted to neuter the first and second amendments with liberal activist puppet judges on the Supreme Court? How can you possibly extrapolate that the Trump administration wants to change the constitution with traditional constitutional justices? Under Hillary, the Constitution would have been essentially reduced to the constructs of English Common Law where new precedence can be used to manipulate and override the previous rule of law.

Sorry for the delayed response, I was out on the Duwamish River with the fine people from Puget Soundkeeps learning about ways to help reduce the toxic crap that flows down from the lofty ivory towers of liberalism on the hill.

what happened to me yesterday isn’t the same old talking points..
this morning i had an email from a christian friend who began her email.. please pray for America.. because a local serviceman who is not of caucasian descent was accosted in a local store by one of our fine citizens who told him to go back where he belongs…

when any of you can dismiss this kind of behavior with a basic get over it and stop rehashing the election post.. we have a problem.

i am feeling pretty blunt today.. so this is my message to all of you local Trump supporters
you broke it. you fix it.

I thought that might be the case, mostlycynic. We are very different types of people. Gloating suits you well, so have a ball man. In the meantime, I’ll choose love over hate and will tell people I love them even if we disagree and I will work to bring those who disagree closer to me rather than push them away. This isn’t a game. I personally couldn’t gloat about something knowing it brings others real pain and suffering. I voted for positive change and for helping others beyond myself and am sick that *we* lost, because all of this is bigger than me and I care about how my actions affect others.

hey, Dave…are you saying that I, at the age of almost 70, am not a working stiff? GThink again, buddy, think again. My SS, that they want to do away with, only pays the rent now. We seniors have other bills, too.

Just yesterday, a man , in a comment on the front page, told me that no, Ryan and McConnell do not want to do away with SS or Medicare…and this morning? The news:http://www.dailykos.com/story/2016/11/11/1596527/-Paul-Ryan-just-announced-his-plans-to-phase-out-Medicare-with-privatization-using-vouchers?detail=email&link_id=1&can_id=1ed4b3a58d4141cdf1dab909f7141098&source=email-paul-ryan-just-announced-his-plans-to-phase-out-medicare-with-privatization-using-vouchers&email_referrer=paul-ryan-just-announced-his-plans-to-phase-out-medicare-with-privatization-using-vouchers&email_subject=paul-ryan-just-announced-his-plans-to-phase-out-medicare-with-privatization-using-vouchers

So…you don’t want to be labelled racist. OK…we’ll give a benefit of the doubt. But for those that are, Trump has now given them permission to just go for it. There are multiple news stories out there about verbally attacking black people, including kids in middle school…by their teachers, no less. Of attacks on a gay man in Santa Monica who, I’m sure, will be very glad to get back to his home country of Canada after being beaten savagely by Trump supporters.Of Asian women being stopped on the street by strangers, berating them and telling them to go back to Asia. There’s the report above from our own JoB of what happened to her yesterday…reprehensible. Oh, and did you see the “parade” in North Carolina, put on by the KKK? Maybe you don’t espouse to these things, would never think of participating in these things, and I’m hoping that some of the Seattle progressive compassion has rubbed off on you, despite your conservatism. But in other parts of the country? There are ignorant people out there on your side of things that think Trump has now given them permission to do whatever, say whatever. It’s the 50’s and 60’s all over again. So you, as a white male, don’t have anything to fear…but those around you? Minorities, women, gay people? It’s only beginning. The transition team he has formed is anti-black, anti-LGBTQ, and the only woman is his daughter, who certainly doesn’t represent me. You can argue all you want with us, but it’s a reality. And it’s wrong, and you are smart enough to recognize it. No one in this country should have to live in fear like this every time we leave our homes. Oh, you say it’s not true? How do you know that? It doesn’t affect you…a white man, a business owner. I lived through the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, Viet Nam, segregation, prejudice, riots, was in Wash, DC watching DC burn after MLK was assassinated, scared out of my wits. I lived in DC for the next 4 years after that and riots, and tear gas…and that’s definitely not when “America was great again”. And that’s what your lord and savior, and those who follow him want to go back to…when white men ruled , women were second class, barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen, if you will…and the like of George Wallace wanted to be president. I don’t want to see history repeat itself, for damned sure. It’s your job, now that you feel that you’ve “won”…not sure what, though, to get out there , be involved, and work your ass off to make sure we don’t go back there.

Oh, and Rush? He can take that big ol’ cigar and shove it ! You want us to listen to your side? Turn on NPR, and others beside Hannity, et.al. …quid pro quo. We all still need educating, don’t we.

Lastly…stop being a bully..you don’t even realize it, I’m guessing. Enjoy the next 4 years. Hope it doesn’t affect you negatively in any way…

We went there Tuesday night and were able to walk right in and get a table. They had good music on, and it was nice to take a break from election coverage. We had the salt-pepper-and-old-bay shrimp, the double-garlic bitter broccoli, and the house chow fun, all delicious. Good drinks, great service, and though they’re not doing take-out food, if you have leftovers they do have lids for the containers the food comes in. Still miss the Pan-Africa Grill, but we’re so happy to have this nearby.

    redblack..
    you aren’t hearing me.
i don’t believe we ever had to hold our noses
i believe we had the best possible candidate to actually begin to accomplish our political goals

no..she wouldn’t have been able to deliver everything and more
    nobody could
but she could have delivered enough to turn the tide

instead we get Trump.. which has loosed a sea of bullies.. not just here on the forum but out in the world.

yesterday i was sitting in a drive through when a decently dressed man in a Trump hat walked up to my car and thrust his arm through my window pointing his finger like a gun and said bang.. he then said that he could have killed me if he wanted to.

    i was shocked..
and so was he when he realized that there was a dog in the car about to bite the hand he stuck in my face…

but that didn’t stop him from winking lewdly and strutting away when he was able to pull his arm out unharmed.

Now.. you know me to be a Hillary supporter.. but there was nothing in my car or on my person that would indicate that i was anything other than an older woman… i don’t even drive an electric car or a hybrid… there is nothing about me sitting in that car to single me out as anything other than a vulnerable woman… an easy target.

the man was not drunk and he didn’t exhibit any signs of a mental disorder.. he was just a bully.. and he saw a woman (like Hillary) and he was going to show her…

I really honestly thought that at my age i was done with this kind of physical intimidation from bullies.. but i guess not.

to make it worse.. the man who was standing not 6 feet away and witnessed the entire incident shrugged his shoulders and gave me one of those sorry but what could i do looks and walked away.

This is not the America i fought so hard for…
but it is the one I have been forced to deal with…

and for some of us it’s more dangerous than others.
i had a car and a dog between me an this bully… He didn’t have a weapon… but it could easily have been much worse and any woman who isn’t aware of that is naive at best.

It didn’t have to be like this and as far as i am concerned there is no real excuse for it.

And to be perfectly honest. i am not so willing to go above and beyond any more to help those who should have had my back and found every excuse not to.

lessons not learned are repeated and i see no evidence that any lesson has been earned here.
at least not one that will keep this same scenario from repeating itself endlessly.

i told you so.. months ago.. but it doesn’t really give me much comfort to be right

LOL.. here we go again.. with the somebody says it and i want to believe it so it’s true

    this emperor has no clothes
but that’s ok.. you won’t either once they get through with you so we will all be naked

it’s going to take a whole lot of illusions to cover that ;-)

cD, Can we assume by your silence that you now realize your comments about Ben Carson reflected your lack of understanding about the actual roll of the Surgeon General?

Since you were engaged in an exchange with KBear about racism and made references to the egalitarian nature of the Constitution, I thought it would be helpful to point out that many of Trump’s supporters decry that inclusive posture of the Framers.

My sources? I assume you are aware of the roll of Steve Bannon as Trump’s campaign CEO and his tilt of Breitbart.com to a decidedly racist slant? No? Perhaps if you look into the views espoused by Milo Yiannopoulos who Bannon gave an editor slot you will what I mean. Bannon is reportedly under consideration for Chief of Staff.

It’s surely not news to you that Trump has been enthusiastically embraced by the Alt Right crowd?

But explicitly on the Alt Right condemnation of an overly egalitarian US Constitution, I’ll point you to

Waking Up From the American Dream

by Gregory Hood, with a fawning forward by the noted Antisemite, Kevin MacDonald. Hoods writes for Counter-Currents, North American New Right.

Finally, have you considered the careful Antisemitic angle in Trump’s last television commercial or is it just coincidence that the faces of Janet Yelin, Lloyd Finkbein, and George Soros appear as the speaker warns about the “global special interests” who “control the level of power in Washington?”

Do I think Trump has detailed an explicitly racist agenda? No of course, not, and that’s not what I said is it? I made reference to what is recognized as a prominent, influential sector of his base as explicitly opposing the inclusive aspects of the US Constitution. But you know that’s what I said, don’t you. Perhaps if your reading was more diverse you’d have been more aware of those references. Watch out for the bubble.

mostlycynical: November 8th was “D-Day” for the progressive left. The “progressive” movement is over. It’s going to take some time for liberals to understand this and accept the gravity of their situation. Liberals have been recklessly living an unsustainable fantasy that increasingly depended on the subversion, oppression, enslavement and deaths of too many other people here and around the globe.

Today on Veterans Day, we honor the millions who fought for our freedom to experiment with different styles of governance. It was their efforts that gave the people of this country the ability to prevail against the tyranny of the leftist agenda. However, we have only won a battle, and not the war. There is a lot of work to do in educating and enlightening the victims of systematic institutional brainwashing that has been occurring for last half century.

Kbear, I have two basic points here: the arrogance of presuming to judge, and the extremity of extending a judgment to all the offender’s supporters.

So an old discussion like the ‘all lives matter’ one: your opinion proves that it’s what you believe, not that there’s any solid fact being nailed down.

And a newer theme: how Trump’s questionable comments reflect on his supporters. Your comments claim that fifty million voters are racists. Yep, that’s what you said. Pretty extreme, or at least it seems that way to me.

I just want a government that follows the constitution.

CD, it’s obvious you are unaware of the authority and responsibilities of the Surgeon General, unless you are thinking it would be good if all health care providers were pulled into the Public Health Services over which he has some authority. Otherwise, the SG has no legislative authority.

I haven’t followed your exchange with KBear other than to notice your closing comment in 864369 above. A criticism of the US Constitution by an influential segment of Trump supporters, the Alt Right crowd, believe it was a huge mistake by the Founding Fathers to not be explicit that the enumerated rights were assumed to apply exclusively to Northern European males. In their view, it was the failure to do so as led to this current state of affairs where the rights of citizenship has been extended to all sorts of less capable and therefore less qualified people. It’s their intention to remedy that error. Where are you concerning the rights of citizenship for Jews, Italian Americans, Japanese Americans, Chinese Americans, African Americans. etc.?

JoB: A friend of mine had known Ben Carson and highly respected his business acumen when he was on the board of Costco. My friend was one of the most highly respected business people in the Northwest during the 70’s 80’s and 90’s who pioneered a lot of employee-centric programs that became the model for many successful companies here. You probably don’t understand Carson’s writings because he is operating several levels above our mutual capability–I was just fortunate to have some experience working with people like him in my past. Carson is one of the most intelligent, fairest and compassionate people who have ever run for president. He’s just not the kind of street fighter that was needed to beat the nasty tactics used by the left. I hope Carson ends up being the Surgeon General who will fix help Americas failing medical system–I don’t think there would be a finer person for the job because he is not bestowed to the insurance or pharmaceutical industry.

KBear: Trump supporters are racist because they believe all individuals matter? Then do you believe that the Bill of Rights and the US Constitution is racist because it was drafted for “We the People” instead of “We the Black People”?

i’m sad, too, jo. but please read my words. i don’t blame HRC. i blame the DNC for playing the RNC/big money game, and playing win-at-all-costs.

we, as democrats, shouldn’t have to hold our noses. republicans do that. i mean, the “party of family values” just nominated and elected a man with children from three different wives, FFS. there’s nothing wrong with that, of course, unless you’re a sanctimonious a$#&%*!

we should put up our strongest candidates first, regardless of how much money they funnel to DNC leadership, unions, CNN, comcast/MSNBC, or how long they’ve been “waiting their turn.”

we need to tell joe scarborough and his bosses that we don’t need to do that, and that if they want to interview our candidates, they’re going to do it for free – or we’ll find a way to get our message out without them.

i’m sorry that you feel the need to check out. i really hope that you don’t, and that we can turn this to our advantage by showing big media why it’s so f$#&k!g wrong that that clown was allowed to advance as far as he did. and by exposing why trump’s malleable “values” are contradictory to well over half of his supporters’ values. and i think that deep down in the places they don’t like to talk about at cocktail parties, republican rank and file know that.

we sure as hell don’t need to emulate or compete with that moral bankruptcy.

redblack.. and that is what lost the election..

buying into the “it’s Hillary” game …
yes. i will vote for her but i will hold my nose.. not terrifically inspiring…

we could have all pulled behind her candidacy months ago
    instead we got Trump.

i would have thought those who called themselves liberals would get the hint..
movements don’t produce anything without opportunity… and too many just dumped opportunity because they didn’t get the candidate of their choice.

too much to walk back after the primaries… and too little enthusiasm for actually doing so…
    and this is the result…

outcome matters and in this case the trickle down from this outcome is likely to matter even to those best placed to ride this Presidency out…

No matter what else happens we have lost the support of the Supreme Court. We have a voting system in which the exit polls and the vote counts don’t match except for those states that have mail in voting… where voter suppression is the norm.. and political power in the hands of those who have a vested interest in maintaining the status quo..

we have lost the opportunity to turn back the clock on Citizen’s United and it’s highly likely that Roe vs Wade will be challenged and likely overturned in the face of all of the state laws now restricting not only the right to abortion but a woman’s access to birth control.

we have lost the opportunity to finally legalize the status of women’s equality in the United States.. not to mention the precarious status of gay and transgender rights.

And you think this is because Hillary won the Democratic nomination? It’s all her fault?

Nope.. sorry. I don’t buy it

Concentrating focus on the personal antipathy towards our candidate instead of on the actual issues lost this election…

equating the democratic party with the republican party as though there was no real difference lost this election…

rationalizing if we can’t have everything we want we will pick up our marbles and go home lost this election.

    and Trump is the result.

btw RedBlack.. please don’t take this as a personal tirade against you even though you are the one who made the statement and who i aimed the reply to..
In my own house my “better half” made disparaging remarks about Hillary talking as though she was the worst thing that could possibly happen to our country until the day of the election and cast his vote for Jill Stein.
to say he was not pleased with the outcome of the election is an understatement.. but I am pretty sure he still doesn’t see that he and people like him who couldn’t let go of their personal antipathy towards her is what lost this election…
there was no reasoning past that wall of “she…..” no matter how unfounded the charge was…

Blaming Hillary for the campaign of slander that has been waged against her since she refused to bake cookies may be a popular pastime.. but it sure was’t productive.

She remains the most qualified candidate we could have fielded to actually enact some of the progressive legislation everyone said they wanted.. unless of course it was enacted by her.

I am an exceedingly sad woman this week.. and likely to give up my lifetime of political activism in the wake of this election. That so many could throw so much away for so little reason is more than i can handle both intellectually and emotionally… i just don’t think i have what it takes to start over in a worse position than that where i began.. 50 years ago.
