Have those of you who say you see the tow driver checking on nuisance vehicles taken a photo? Even a cameraphone photo? I’d be willing to pursue this through the SDOT ranks but photos would be needed to prove the theory — TR

Circa, totally Circa. I’ve gone many times, usually I sit at the bar and just chill reading a book with dinner and drinks, and they have never ever rushed me. I’ve also sat at a table and also felt just as comfortable. Oh, and I hate going places by myself, so for me to feel comfortable then it really is a good place.

Anybody have a recommendation on a restaurant that I can go to by myself and read my book and be welcomed?

I just love going to Angelina’s for their friendly and great staff, the real food for reasonable money. I see individuals and couples and families, all enjoying themselves. Diversity in a restaurant!

Let’s illustrate with a few quotes.

They want the federal government controlling Social Security like it’s some kind of federal program.

George W. Bush, St. Charles, Missouri, November 2, 2000

At the Gridiron, Mr. Bush slyly joked that he had the “dangedest puppy” who would roll over on command – but only some of the time. “I renamed him ‘John McCain.’ “

    —Maureen Dowd

“See, in my line of work you got to keep repeating things over and over and over again for the truth to sink in, to kind of catapult the propaganda.” — Bush in Greece, New York,

“It is as useless to argue with those who have renounced the use of reason as to administer medication to the dead.” ~ Thomas Jefferson

Is there anything worse than idealism that doesn’t conform to reality?

    — Seymour Hersh

Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we. — George W. Bush

“Anyone accusing George Bush of knowing anything

at all must have solid evidence.” — Greg Palast

If you’re actually interested in the answers to your questions, then repeating a slur from the McCarthy era (or the Hoover administration more fittingly) is not the way to go about it.

The history of the phrase and it’s usage can be found here.

If you really are both as ignorant and confused as your post makes you seem, the experts are reading this blog and can set you straight.

That is if they had time and the inclination to do so.

I am not one of the party leaders or elected officials. I have however taken the time to educate myself about the important issues of the day as well as the origin of many of the current news items that our corporate news media seem to have recurring amnesia about.

If google is really not enough for you, and reading the long and tedious explanations on this forum from the caucus period is just too daunting, then ask your questions in a civil fashion and the answer shall be revealed unto you.

This is about as annoying as the guy that has 6 old police cruisers that leaves them parked all over the area between California/35th & Andover and Charlestown. He too knows the exact day the big orange sticker goes on and he cleans the stickers off and shuffles them around. I have been watching this joke for the last 8 years. You would think that parking enforcement would get an idea sooner or later.

JT – Thank you for reading the article with your eyes open! I love that you can actually distinguish that Obama may be just like the rest of them (even if you did add “to a degree”).

Btw, I know this is talked about in other threads, but I love how Obama supporter’s claim that if Obama doesn’t win, either that region is racist or “doesn’t know how to vote”. Ever consider that there may be A LOT of people that just don’t want him to be our next President?

Estopher maybe I should have been a bit clear. I find it silly that the Democratic party is not laughing off Hil’s claim that she is winning in a popular vote. A popular vote that includes states that can not vote in the general election, dismisses cuacus states including Washington State, and includes Michigan where Obama’s name was not on a valid. That is undemocratic.

OK, for you, I read it. I actually agreed with it for the most part. I think everyone feels the 2 party system sucks. How to get that realistically changed, is beyond me. I don’t think Nader should be shut out like he is. And he certainly has a point about it not really being his fault that Gore lost. Against Bush it should have been a slam dunk.

But you were asking about Obama. That’s probably true as well. That’s he’s in the pockets of big business to a degree like everyone else. It’s hard to tell if that’s his personal ethics, or the way of the system. Nader is a prime example of what happens if you just run on your principles. You don’t win. Is that a reflection of the candidate or us?

And my first choice was always Edwards too. Actually, Edwards, Clinton, Obama, in that order. Clinton blew it, so this is where we’re at.

I went and found the article. Typically, I dont got to the WSJ site so i had to google it but figured I would since it seems to be such a huge issue to you. Personally, after reading the article, i was just a little less impressed with Nader than I already was. Rather than taking that time to actually talk about what he is for and how he would make the changes needed he let his bitterness of the Democratic party overtake the interview and took the time to bash his opponent because Obama is his

“competition” come November. Because with out Democrats supporting him he does not have a shot in he**. I am much less threatened by that man than the Republican party should be by Bob Barr running for President.

It isn’; that I won’t read the WSJ, NR; (though I muist admit since it reverted to Murdoch, I’ve spent less time with it. Nader???? I stay away from and always have — but, since you insist :-)…back atcha. (I assume he says Obama isn’t a very good liberal — duh — yup, that’s why he was about my third choice.)

If you want to see a liberal that many conservatives might love, check out the many tributes to Bobby Kennedy on the 40th anniversary of his murder.

I was wondering of anyone else witnessed what we saw out of the corner of our eyes as we were stopping for a bridge opening about 2:30pm today?

A man in a dark blue Honda Accord was coming up from Michigan Street onramp to the First Ave Bridge South, when the traffic was stopped. We were slowing down and out of the corner of my eye, I saw him stop, jump out of the car chasing his dog. The dog, probably thinking he was playing, jumped right up and over the jersey barrier and either into the Duwamish or somewhere under the bridge. It was a terrible thing to see. It has to be a 40-50 foot drop there. He was pretty devestated.

I guess others that were behind him witnessed the tragic event as well, because others were running up to him, looking over the side.
