What’s your definition of a right-wing nut in Texas?

Asks his flock to vomit their sins into paper bags? (No, I’m not making this up.)

Believes he has a direct line to Jesus?

Drives a Hummer to overcompensate for his other size issues?

Hates people who don’t share his religious views?

    Hates gay people?

Lies and deceives to get their way?

    Lacks a true conscience?

    Is ignorant?

Etc., etc. Look here, I actually have some conservative views, but the nutjobs on the extreme have highjacked the Republican/Conservative platform and used it to their own greedy advantage.

The question Jeannie….was towards liberalism in Seattle. But if your assuming I’m a republican, you got me all wrong. I must have touched a nerve with you since you sound displeased and retorted back with liberal passion. Oh yeah…and I’m no liberal either. In fact, I hate the two party system and am sick and tired of what and how one or the other thinks. Frankly, I couldn’t give a crap. So what are you going to call me now an independent radical?

I think I would just go with jerk, but name calling isn’t allowed in the forum. This is like the 3rd thread you put a flamer in to see what people will do. Why can’t people like you just express what you think and feel instead of taking pleasure out of seeing what kind of reaction you can get. Same MO as TheHouse.

You seem intelligent. You may have views that are interesting. But one will never know.

We need more of TheHouse and I here. It helps balance out the obvious on this forum and elsewhere. I don’t sugarcoat my thoughts that’s for sure. And were am I name calling? Oh brother..

If you desire balance, how about participating in the discussion. Share your opinion with others. This is tantamount to screaming fire in a movie theatre. Complainers don’t ever seem to want to be a part of the solution.

Joe gets up at 6:00am to prepare his morning coffee. He fills his pot full of good clean drinking water because some liberal fought for minimum water quality standards. He takes his daily medication with his first swallow of coffee. His medications are safe to take because some liberal fought to insure their safety and work as advertised. All but $10.00 of his medications are paid for by his employers medical plan because some liberal union workers fought their employers for paid medical insurance, now Joe gets it too. He prepares his morning breakfast, bacon and eggs this day. Joe’s bacon is safe to eat because some liberal fought for laws to regulate the meat packing industry.

Joe takes his morning shower reaching for his shampoo; His bottle is properly labeled with every ingredient and the amount of its contents because some liberal fought for his right to know what he was putting on his body and how much it contained. Joe dresses, walks outside and takes a deep breath. The air he breathes is clean because some tree hugging liberal fought for laws to stop industries from polluting our air. He walks to the subway station for his government subsidized ride to work; it saves him considerable money in parking and transportation fees. You see, some liberal fought for affordable public transportation, which gives everyone the opportunity to be a contributor.

Joe begins his work day; he has a good job with excellent pay, medicals benefits, retirement, paid holidays and vacation because some liberal union members fought and died for these working standards. Joe’s employer pays these standards because Joe’s employer doesn’t want his employees to call the union. If Joe is hurt on the job or becomes unemployed he’ll get a worker compensation or unemployment check because some liberal didn’t think he should loose his home because of his temporary misfortune.

Its noon time, Joe needs to make a Bank Deposit so he can pay some bills. Joe’s deposit is federally insured by the FSLIC because some liberal wanted to protect Joe’s money from unscrupulous bankers who ruined the banking system before the depression.

Joe has to pay his Fannie Mae underwritten Mortgage and his below market federal student loan because some stupid liberal decided that Joe and the government would be better off if he was educated and earned more money over his life-time.

Joe is home from work, he plans to visit his father this evening at his farm home in the country. He gets in his car for the drive to dads; his car is among the safest in the world because some liberal fought for car safety standards. He arrives at his boyhood home. He was the third generation to live in the house financed by Farmers Home Administration because bankers didn’t want to make rural loans. The house didn’t have electric until some big government liberal stuck his nose where it didn’t belong and demanded rural electrification. (Those rural Republican’s would still be sitting in the dark)

He is happy to see his dad who is now retired. His dad lives on Social Security and his union pension because some liberal made sure he could take care of himself so Joe wouldn’t have to. After his visit with dad he gets back in his car for the ride home.

He turns on a radio talk show, the host’s keeps saying that liberals are bad and conservatives are good. (He doesn’t tell Joe that his beloved Republicans have fought against every protection and benefit Joe enjoys throughout his day) Joe agrees, “We don’t need those big government liberals ruining our lives; after all, I’m a self made man who believes everyone should take care of themselves, just like I have”.

It sure seems obvious to me why Jiggers still can’t find a room to rent in WS.

Well…Jimmy, you may bend over, but I don’t play that game. I have my own mind and thoughts. I can form my own opinion about something unlike a lot of people who seem to can’t form their own opinions but easily are offended by mines. I don’t sugarcoat what I’m thinking. I noticed there are lot of households in WS and Seattle overall that ask for only vegetarians, or be gay friendly or just gay, or female only. Talk about narrow minded.

I guess vegetarians don’t want me to stink up their household with a nice fat ribeye steak…lol

Hey JenV that was very detailed thanks…lol

good lord then, jiggers….move to eastern washington. rent is cheap and there are very few liberals there to offend you with their progressive ideals. your education level would fit perfectly in Moses Lake, Yakima or Pasco. I am sure a lot of people will step up and help you move…

Why JenV? I want to be a sharp craw in their little world they have. It makes it more fun when your ganged up against by people who have different views from you. I love a good smack down because I can dish it back. To much passive-aggressive people out here all talk. I’ve been here 12 years already and know what I’m up against.

I keep thinking what a boring world it would be if we were all like jiggers. Maybe the people who rent to women only have a reason…although I doubt you’ll find an ad advertising that unless it’s for a share. It’s illegal to discriminate because of gender, sexual orientation, etc.

Now..if it’s a house that would rent you a room, , well, they want you to fit in…can you do that? You’re not a stupid man, jiggers…I get that….so use the brains that the goddess gave you, and think before you open your mouth…just an observation..:)

Jeannie – I’m a Republican and I don’t possess ANY of the qualities you posted.

So, I guess your view of a Republican is a little skewed. Do you actually know any personally?

I don’t want to stir things up (I really mean that), but I do have to say, out of ALL the liberals I know, Jiggers’ examples describes a lot of them. I wouldn’t have used those same words, but….

    JenV….that was impressive!!!

    Funny, I consider myself liberal:

Rarely go to starbucks (independant is my choice)

    Hate my cell phone

My Beach cruiser has had a flat for 3 yrs

    Never liked vegatables (cooked anyways)

Jim McDermott? I don’t always agree, but like alot.

Vote yes on everything? Hmm… vague……nope.

LTGB? I accept all people and judge them individually.

    Drive a SUV (paid for)

I’ve protested a few times. Backed up traffic? probably, but so do the Mariners.

    Your point is??

    Let me simplify:

Liberal – government should take care of me and the rest of the world. They are also people with IQs below 55 and tend to drool on themselves at the sight of a tax increase, minority running for office and cheese fries.

Conservative – I am responsible for myself and other people are responsible for themselves. They are also people with IQs above 55 and tend to drool on themselves at the site of Bibles, men from Texas and Speed Racer.

Independents – people that just want to enjoy life and don’t give a rats *ss about arguing.

I must also clarify for the libs, this is a joke.

Let’s illustrate with a few quotes.

They want the federal government controlling Social Security like it’s some kind of federal program.

George W. Bush, St. Charles, Missouri, November 2, 2000

At the Gridiron, Mr. Bush slyly joked that he had the “dangedest puppy” who would roll over on command – but only some of the time. “I renamed him ‘John McCain.’ “

    —Maureen Dowd

“See, in my line of work you got to keep repeating things over and over and over again for the truth to sink in, to kind of catapult the propaganda.” — Bush in Greece, New York,

“It is as useless to argue with those who have renounced the use of reason as to administer medication to the dead.” ~ Thomas Jefferson

Is there anything worse than idealism that doesn’t conform to reality?

    — Seymour Hersh

Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we. — George W. Bush

“Anyone accusing George Bush of knowing anything

at all must have solid evidence.” — Greg Palast

    The conservative world view explained.

It’s not just George Bush, this kind of thinking is endemic to the Conservative pathology. You have to look at what is really meant when they say something. When Conservatives talk about small government, they really mean that they want to limit democratic control on the power of oligarchy and big money. It’s the jackboot and a police state for the rest of us. When they talk about personal responsibility, they really mean it just in regards to other people. Conservatives systematically demean the hard work of others and fully believe, even if they inherited their wealth and status, that it is due to their own initiative. Therefore, if someone doesn’t pull themselves up by their own bootstraps, it’s their own fault. If a Conservative is caught being immoral or corrupt, they have a built in out and can claim that we are all sinners and can be redeemed by claiming to come to Christ. No part of Conservative rhetoric is meant to apply to themselves, only others. To be Conservative is to lack empathy and the ability for self criticism and analysis. Nothing is ever their fault, they can never be wrong. Whether it be empirical science or facts on the ground, if if it does not accord with the Conservative worldview, that data must be held suspect. It must be the fault of secular humanist conspiracies made up by anti-business, anti-Christian scientists and Liberal elite professors and journalists. Global Warming, evolution, body counts from Iraq it doesn’t matter, evidence be damned. Conservatives are true believers for whom contrary evidence must be met with unshakable resolve. For them, this is a matter of character and consistency. Self doubt is for the weak in character and those who change their opinions based on evidence are lacking in resolve. It is for these reasons that I am fully convinced that Conservatism is merely ideological window dressing for a worldview borne of pathology. It attracts those who suffer from and fear their own internal contradictions giving them a psychological and philosophical framework to avoid paralysing self-reflection and doubt.
