Topic: Housekeeper in Highland Park
We’re a family of four looking for a part-time housekeeper in Highland Park. For the past few years we’ve been lucky to have the services of an awesome neighbor who we met through WSB, and we’re hoping lightning can strike twice! We prefer another awesome individual versus a cleaning service.
Duties:
– General light housekeeping like washing dishes, tidying, folding laundry, taking out trash/compost/recycling, etc
– Regular cleaning tasks like bathrooms, floors, and mirrors, etc
– Occasional deeper cleaning tasks like wiping cabinets and baseboards, cleaning appliances, bathrooms and the kitchen deeper cleans, etc
– Other tasks as mutually agreed uponDetails:
– Four people (one adult man, one adult woman, two teen boys) and a small/medium sized, very gentle, non-shedding dog
– 1700 square feet divided between a main house and a DADU
– 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 1 kitchen, 1 kitchenettePay: $25/hour, paid weekly
Hours: Likely at least 6-10 per week to get the job done well, but flexible if you have a different number of hours in mind

Contact hphousekeeper@icloud.com and let us know:
– Your name

– Your experience with housekeeping (even if just in your own home)
– What appeals to you about the job, what caught your eye
– Your favorite lunch spot in/near West SeattleHi all,
My lease is up and I’ll be moving at the end of October. Combing through and refreshing 10 websites per day is as demoralizing and exhausting as it sounds, so I’m trying my luck here.
I’m in my mid 30s, work in education, and have good credit and references. My needs are basically quiet, LGBTQ friendly, non-smokers, and everyone pays the rent on time. Hoping for the Delridge/Riverview area, but anything close to the 128 line will work.
I’d love to connect with anyone who is seeking a house share. Are you looking for a punctual, responsible roommate? Know someone who is? Let’s talk!

Topic: “He’s a nice dog”
Control your dogs! I was attacked by a “nice dog” yesterday. The nice dog bit through my pants and a knee brace leaving me with deep puncture wounds and a huge bruise. There was no warning that this nice dog was going to bite despite the owner telling me (afterwards) that the nice dog has a history of bitting people near doorways. I was leaving my building and moved aside to let the owner and the dog in. That’s when I got bit. Holding the door to let this neighbor and his dogs in. Again, no warning that this dog is scared of doorways and will bite people in doorways. I would have happily backed away had I known.

Found a ring last week or the week before on Stevens and 49th in the morning. Seems like a student may have lost it on the walk to school- delicate, silver in color, looks to be hand hammered in texture – send a picture of it and we can get it back to you ASAP! Small chevron point also!
Topic: Please don’t block alleys
Over the past few years, I often see people park in the middle of the alley or not far enough over to allow through traffic. In case you didn’t know, this is illegal. It’s also not very neighborly. Please don’t do this. It’s inconvenient for the driver and there can be violations/dangers in backing up. There also isn’t always a way to turn around in the alley so you can leave “nose” out.
For those who think I should call parking enforcement, that’s not really an option due to hold times and the parking enforcement being perpetually understaffed.
Rather than trying to get people a ticket and a tow, I thought I could reach more people proactively through WSB.
The Seattle Municipal Code is below. Thank you.
11.72.020 – Alley.
No person shall stand or park a vehicle except a commercial vehicle, a vehicle displaying a valid commercial loading permit, or authorized emergency vehicle in an alley.(Ord. 114518 § 5, 1989: Ord. 114251 § 5, 1988: Ord. 108200, § 2(11.72.020), 1979.)
11.72.025 – Alley—Driveway.
No person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle within an alley in such a position as to block the driveway entrance to any abutting property. (RCW 46.90.433(2))Topic: Substitute Teachers Needed
Hope School, a private faith-based preschool – grade 8 school in West Seattle, is hiring substitute teachers for all levels for the current school year.
All candidates should have experience working with children and/or college coursework in the education field. Applicants may fill out the Application for Employment online.
