Sorry I was late to the party, but I was so elated to hear that COS Elaine Ko had stepped down. This is not about bashing COS Elaine Ko, but she was not a stellar representative to all of D1. After many attempts trying to get assistance for our neighborhood, COS Elaine Ko tried to get a protective order because I was calling her and emailing her about issues in our neighborhood.
The courts rightfully so, granted a temporary protective order. Anyone who is being hurt or threatened should be protected as quickly as possible….But if you put down knowingly incorrect facts which you have to back peddle in court then you are not a good representative. You are an abuser of power. So I personally am glad to see she has stepped down, but unfortunately we still have a poor excuse for a CM. In court, Rob actually said in front of the judge and my neighbors that he would never help us because we were mean to his COS. Couldn’t make that up if I tried. Instead of being a leader, he dug in for the wrong reason. Didnt you hear the judge CM Rob? THEY ARE JUST TRYING TO TALK TO YOU ABOUT THEIR NEIGHBORHOOD!
I am not speaking about them personally as I do not know them. Based on my experience with them, I count my lucky stars and would not surround myself with persons who are so interested in the power and not the job.
I say this from the bottom of my heart COS Elaine Ko….good! Now I dont have to worry about you waving your fist in my face anymore. But to Elaine Ko, I do wish you a happy life and retirement. PLEASE STAY OUT OF POLITICS!
West Seattle Resident of 30 years
If anyone happens to find a light blue Buffway wallet belonging to Heather G, that’s me!! It fell out of my pocket on my bike commute into work, so somewhere along Fauntleroy —> Alaska —> 36th —> Avalon —> Yancy —> then the bike path over the lower bridge. I noticed before getting to Marginal.
It has my license, military ID, UW card, bank cards, Costco card, and health insurance cards.
Thanks so much for helping me keep an eye out ♥️
My family and I noticed the monkey in a stroller as we walked into Paper Boat Booksellers this afternoon 4/14. On our way back to the car, we encountered said monkey lying alone in the crosswalk in front of the QFC. We promise we are taking good care of your monkey! Monkey wants to re-unite with you!

We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity in our workplace.
I’m looking to hire someone local to help maintain a very small front and back yard in West Seattle. The job would include mowing and edging about twice a month throughout the season.
Additionally, depending on pricing, I’d like to have some bushes and pampas grass in the front yard trimmed as a one-time project.
I’m hoping to find someone dependable who takes pride in their work. I recently parted ways with a previous service after some disappointing visits at the end of last season, where the level of care didn’t match the cost.
If you’re local (or know someone who is) and interested in steady, straightforward yard work, I’d love to connect and support someone in the community.
Please feel free to message me with your rates, availability, and optionally, any references or examples of your work.
Thanks so much!

While having a delightful meal at La Chingona this week, Sandra, the owner shared that they are being mercilessly harassed by the new owner of their building who is trying to evict them.
They are engaged in a legal battle with this landlord, who took ownership without negotiating the existing long term leases. He already removed their festive patio.
I asked what we could do to be of support, and she answered that dining at their restaurant as often as we could with be a big help.
So I am putting it out to the you, the West Seattle Community to please go support this lovely eatery and its dynamic, kind staff!!! This establishment is a treasure.
Thank you!!!

Topic: Lost Honda Key Fob on Alki
Hi all,
I was walking last night 3/30 on Alki on the water side from the Statue of Liberty to the Alki Beach Pier and back. If anyone finds it, please turn it in at Christo’s or give me a call. 801-201-2606.
Thank you so much.Looking for someone who loves to run and loves to talk about running. You don’t need anything but a passion for the sport, we will teach you everything else. A retail background would be great, but it isn’t necessary. Your job will be to sell shoes and apparel, stock shelves, help with sports bra fittings, keep the store clean, and help customers find the right product. Be able to start and hold a conversation, as that is basic skill for sales. Shy, wall flower types will probably not like the atmosphere, as we require you to start and maintain customer interactions.
We are looking for a full time person 30-40 hours a week, this position may include one weekend day. These are long term positions, at least 12 months or longer, as it takes a while to get trained and able to be help customers independently. Pay starts at $21.30 but is negotiable based on experience. We also offer bonuses based on store sales. PTO accumulation starts the day you start. We also have an employee discount, and a separate family discount. Free race entries for all races we sponsor, and it’s a pretty cool atmosphere to work in, as most customers are happy to be here. Please drop off a resume in person at the store. We do not respond to emailed resumes unless we have directed you to send it.
The interview will be done during a 3 mile run, so if you get called back, be ready to tell us your favorite 3 mile route! Don’t worry about pace, we will keep it slow (11-12 minute miles) so we can chat.
If you have questions, please drop in and ask them.

Lost Something Special? Ring Found Near West Seattle High School 💍
A ring was found recently near West Seattle High School, and we’d love to help reunite it with its owner.
It’s a delicate silver-toned band with repeating stone pattern and vintage-inspired design.
If you think this might be yours, please reach out and describe where you may have lost it and any identifying details so we can make sure it gets back to the right person.
Thanks for helping spread the word!
Topic: FOUND: Wallet
This may be a long shot, but this wallet was found on the ground of the Jefferson Square parking lot last night. It included the person’s driver’s license, but I couldn’t find her online. I tried turning it in at Bank of America this morning (since there was a card), but they aren’t allowed to take it. I will take it to the police station per their recommendation, but am at work all day.
(If it’s yours, email westseattleblog@gmail.com and we’ll connect you)
Topic: Lost keys Alki
I must’ve dropped my house keys around the 2400 block of Alki Ave SW (or perhaps in the back alley) Sunday night around 10pm. We thought we had them until this evening when we realized we last saw them that night.
Gold key, 2 silver, and 1 red. As well as a keychain from Washington Parks and a lime/bright yellow glow in the dark cylindrical fob.
Lost Friday 20th as walked through out Block Park and along waterfront past water ferry dock and to far point by pier/pigeon area where old Natatorium was.
