    ABOUT THE BRIDGE SCHOOL

The Bridge School is an independent, cooperative elementary school serving ages 5-11 (grades K-5). Located in White Center, WA. We are a small school of under 30 students with a close-knit, supportive school community. Our mission is to provide a progressive elementary program that fosters authentic learning through whole child development. We foster values of community, confidence, creativity and curiosity through interdisciplinary, multi-age, experiential learning in small class sizes. All students engage weekly in visual and performing arts, special topic enrichment classes, and regular school-wide community meetings. One full day per week, Outdoor Education Specialists take students’ learning outside our four walls and to Seahurst Park in Burien, WA. As a cooperative school, each child and caregiver has a role to play in building a strong learning community; families participate in all aspects of school operations, utilizing their unique skills both in and outside the classroom. To learn more about us, please go to our website: http://www.BridgeSchoolCoop.org.

On Fridays, students engage in Creative Enrichment curriculum (arts & sciences) for a half-day with Arts Specialists. Options for Core Classroom teachers to teach Fridays may exist depending upon subject expertise and staffing levels. As a small school, we aspire to leverage each teacher’s expertise and specialized skills which can in practice look like co-teaching, crossover classes, and flexible, nimble partnerships between classrooms.

    OUR APPROACH TO EDUCATION

I know Efesis took a hit when new owners changed it to Greek, and not very good Greek at that.
The good news is Hasan, who owns the building, is back at the helm.
We have gone several times and loved it.
And we have been one of just a couple of tables!
We went on a Friday night and there were only two other tables!
So, please if you liked Efesis in the past, give it a try, you won’t be disappointed. Support our local businesses.

Once a dog bites someone and causes injury, they should go to a farm upstate IMO; regardless of how nice their owner insists they are.

The world, and Seattle in particular, has become far too passive when it comes to pushing back on dog owners for breaking the laws. Every day I see dogs on a beach, in a park that explicitly says ‘no dogs’, or on a seat in a bus.

Unpopular or not, please remember that dogs are, in fact, NOT PEOPLE.

    – Occasional deeper cleaning tasks like wiping cabinets and baseboards, cleaning appliances, bathrooms and the kitchen deeper cleans, etc
    – Other tasks as mutually agreed upon

    Details:

    – 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 1 kitchen, 1 kitchenette

    Pay: $25/hour, paid weekly

Schedule: At least 2 days per week, Mon/Thu preferred, but flexible on both days and times of day as your schedule permits.

Contact hphousekeeper@icloud.com and let us know:
    – Your name

    Hi all,

My lease is up and I’ll be moving at the end of October. Combing through and refreshing 10 websites per day is as demoralizing and exhausting as it sounds, so I’m trying my luck here.

I’m in my mid 30s, work in education, and have good credit and references. My needs are basically quiet, LGBTQ friendly, non-smokers, and everyone pays the rent on time. Hoping for the Delridge/Riverview area, but anything close to the 128 line will work.

I’d love to connect with anyone who is seeking a house share. Are you looking for a punctual, responsible roommate? Know someone who is? Let’s talk!

Control your dogs! I was attacked by a “nice dog” yesterday. The nice dog bit through my pants and a knee brace leaving me with deep puncture wounds and a huge bruise. There was no warning that this nice dog was going to bite despite the owner telling me (afterwards) that the nice dog has a history of bitting people near doorways. I was leaving my building and moved aside to let the owner and the dog in. That’s when I got bit. Holding the door to let this neighbor and his dogs in. Again, no warning that this dog is scared of doorways and will bite people in doorways. I would have happily backed away had I known.

    • Experience communicating with others via Slack

    Benefits and Perks:

    • Highly competitive industry pay

Over the past few years, I often see people park in the middle of the alley or not far enough over to allow through traffic. In case you didn’t know, this is illegal. It’s also not very neighborly. Please don’t do this. It’s inconvenient for the driver and there can be violations/dangers in backing up. There also isn’t always a way to turn around in the alley so you can leave “nose” out.

For those who think I should call parking enforcement, that’s not really an option due to hold times and the parking enforcement being perpetually understaffed.

Rather than trying to get people a ticket and a tow, I thought I could reach more people proactively through WSB.

The Seattle Municipal Code is below. Thank you.

    11.72.020 – Alley.
No person shall stand or park a vehicle except a commercial vehicle, a vehicle displaying a valid commercial loading permit, or authorized emergency vehicle in an alley.

    (Ord. 114518 § 5, 1989: Ord. 114251 § 5, 1988: Ord. 108200, § 2(11.72.020), 1979.)

    11.72.025 – Alley—Driveway.
No person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle within an alley in such a position as to block the driveway entrance to any abutting property. (RCW 46.90.433(2))

Girls pink and white bicycle found, on 46th and Hudson, at 7am on 9/21. Was probably stolen and then dumped there. I took it to my home for safe keeping.

Household items / tools / kitchen stuff / garden stuff. LOTS of stuff to pick through. We are moving and haven’t processed through our clothes yet so no clothing this time but next time we will have a ton of that too. This is moving sale #2. Most items priced $1, $2, $5. Some laptops iPads and phones, gaming gear and hobby stuff too! Come take a look! Sale is in our detached garage in the BACKYARD but there will be plenty of signs pointing ya in the right direction. Does not open until 8:30! Cash or Venmo.

7722 Fauntleroy Way SW. right across from Lincoln park.

I found (several days ago, sorry) a Samsung phone on the ground at Alki Beach, underneath the cluster of trees north of the bath house. I’ve been waiting for the owner to call the phone so it can be returned.
