For a friend’s West Seattle-residing mom; She needs a tax accountant for help in filing her taxes. The issue she has is that she has an account in Japan, due to her parents passing away.
Anyone have a good rec?
Please post here, I’ll be sending a link to this thread to my friend for her to pass along any info to her mom!
Thanks!
MikeRecently, while walking down the street in the Admiral District, I found a diamond ring and would love to give it back to whoever lost it. It is either silver or white gold (my jewelry knowledge is lacking).
There is something engraved on the inside of the ring so if you think this may be yours please let me know what the inscription is (and any other details you may have) and I’ll happily return your precious.
Hi, my car window was smashed in at the Met Market parking lot. On April 1st, 2017 around 4:15 p.m
It was a Grey 2010 Prius.
Canvas tote was stolen containg my dark brown leather day planner and headset and white mesh makeup bag among other miscellaneous items.
Would love to have it returned if found or any info regarding the break in.
Thank you, any help is appreciated.Topic: FOUND: Set of Keys

Topic: Mini-Cooper hit & run
Location: parking lot of California & Erskine 7-11
Time: just past 2 pm today
Car: gold with black trim Mini-Cooper, license beginning with 960?
Driver: female with shortish dark hairWhile waiting for the bus, I heard someone cry out. Turned around just in time to see the vehicle back into an elderly woman with a cane who was crossing the parking lot. The impact caused her to stagger sideways and almost fall. She was shouting “stop, stop” the entire time. The driver just turned and headed out of the parking lot. I chased after the car as best I could (not young myself) yelling at them that they had hit someone. They slowly continued down the block as if they knew someone was shouting at them but oblivious as to the reason.
Here’s the thing. The elderly pedestrian was moving at a crawl. If the driver had looked behind them for even a second, she would have been clearly visible. Certainly she would have been visible as she clung screaming to the left rear side of the vehicle. This is not a case of someone running behind a backing vehicle while in their blind spot. This could only have happened if they did not look AT ALL before or during backing.
The woman was OK, glad that someone had stood up for her, but wanted to be on her way. Otherwise, I would have stayed and helped her file a police report. I got the impression that she had made eye contact with the driver at some point.
If anyone knows this mini-brained, mini-moraled Mini driver, please let them know they nearly killed someone today – if they care. I’ve never seen such horrible driving in my entire life as I’ve witnessed in West Seattle recently. This behavior is shameful and inexcusable.

Topic: Can we drop this now?
A lot of us have a lot of complaints about Mayor Murray. However, people keep bringing up “rainbow crosswalks” when talking about him. It almost seems homophobic to me to keep bringing up something specific to LGBTQ+ pepole from at least two years ago, maybe more, when talking about Seattle’s first gay mayor.
It’s one thing to complain about specific things he’s done or hasn’t done recently. But to bring up the rainbow crosswalks when talking about something completely unrelated–why? Why that one thing, when there are probably several other things he’s done that could be complained about?
I’m reading the blog, sometimes in completely different place & timezone, I note the time when some of these stories are put up. I am always amazed at your work so I just wanted to say thank you. I am at odds with are digital age sometimes, but you provide a top-notch connection to my neighborhood. So once again, a well deserved thank you!
P.S. Do you sleep at all?
