de nada. Amazing what is on Wikipedia, although I was disappointed there is not a page on Vernell’s Butter Mints. There is a family rumor that my mom was one of their first employees; I did a bunch of research but could not confirm it (there is a FB page Vernell’s for ret’d employees, but since I refuse to join, I couldn’t contact the family. There’s also a 1950’s KING-TV documentary I couldn’t access.) One of the most interesting things was the history of Vernell’s as it wandered through buyouts, restructuring, etc. similar to Arthur Treachers, plus it’s connections to QFC, Van de Kamps bakery (used to be one in the Junction), etc. Just found out the co. still owns the old Pay ‘N Pak site in B’vue worth approx. $15mil. Bet those names send miws’ brain on a trip down memory lane.
