TRAFFIC ALERT: Crash at 35th and Avalon

1:24 PM: Thanks for the texts – a crash at 35th and Avalon has been blocking part of the intersection for more than half an hour. The southbound lanes through the intersection just reopened a minute ago, but one lane remains blocked by one of the vehicles involved, as currently shown in the “live” SDOT webcam view above, so avoid the area for a while if you can.

1:40 PM: Tow trucks are on scene.

That intersection screams out for south / northbound turn arrows.

That traffic-cam screen grab makes the daytime look like nighttime.

Or was there a total eclipse of the sun today here in WS that we didn’t witness in Magnolia?

I think it’s just  the traffic cam that updates as the day goes on…of course, I could be wrong…highly probably, even :)

Hi – That is a live link, as noted in the story, not a screen grab, and that’s why it’s dark now. Made sense at the time … often I will also get a grab so I can substitute it later but didn’t this time, and the city cams have no archives. – TR
