7:18 PM: At Highland Park Way and Othello, a few trees came down – apparently concurrent with the downpour about an hour ago – and right now, one downhill lane is closed.

I barely missed being caught in this miss-hap.
as we entered the intersection at the top end, a man was pulled over in his SUV with a smashed rear window,dents in the roof, a tree limb in the back cargo area and plenty of leaf litter on the roof.
clearly he was caught by one of the downed trees.
he checked for damage and pulled out into the traffic headed into West Seattle,
so i don’t know if his damage was reported to anyone but the insurance company.
